Yeah, May is a good bet for G'n'R. I remember Slash playing the intro to 'Tie your Mother Down' for May at that VR show. He seems to be at every big fuckin' rock gig in London. I believe Jimmy Page was at the VR show too.  : ok:

It's not an ebay policy to cap ticket prices at face value - YET. Various music industry types are working with the government here to try and get ebay to only sell tickets at a certain rate over face value. ?At the mo they can go for whatever the hell people want to pay. ?Pearl Jam at the Astoria were going for ?500 +. ?SAdly, where there is demand, there seems to be a supply. ?There are allegedly insiders at various Box Offices who are working against us true fans. ? :-[

Got my standing ticket ! Woo that was pretty easy after i got over the fact i had 2 different cards declined because i swear the guy was deaf and got to numbers completly wrong  >:( but none the less im there !

velvet revolver we lost the car parked up turned left instead of right walked for 3 miles caught a tube eventually after some swaps got to hammersmith this was now 2ish and had to then work out where we parked car found it half an hour later 1/2 a mile from venue then queued in freezing cold although i had a Jacket so i was ok ?

last piccaddilly line tubes are usually at about 12.15am - though you might be able check that at www.tfl.gov.uk ?if you arent rushing to catch a train from Kings X - you could get a night bus? ?

Well, I now have tickets to hammersmith and Download. I only got the Download tickets cos it was supposedly 'GnRs only UK show this year'..... So a wonderful waste of a shit load of money..... Would I be mad to sell my Download tickets and take my lady to Paris for the weekend instead after a thoroughly awesome gig at the Apollo or do I sit through 3 days of the worst Emo bands the world has to offer?

Well he did at Docklands.  And yes I believe indirectly he does......Hammersmith are famous for their expensive curfew fines.

Probably won't make it- the last one is at 0006. I've got rooms in Huntingdon hospital which I can use if all else fails, as the last train there runs at 0136.
Last tubes are at 0030- which should be just about OK, if they go on at 9:30 or 10:00

Get them from the ticketrush site. As long as you have a mobile phone number you can use then its easy. Then you ring the order line and book those bad boys ! Took no more than 5 minutes max.
I missed the pre-sale yesterday but did the ticketrush way and got 2 standing tickets for a total of ?89 this evening. I paid a bit more for tickets to be sent special delivery rather than taking my mobile to the gig for that ticket-less Wap Nokia shit. The stubs are a nice souvenir anyway.

First saw GnR in August 1991 at Wembley Stadium, then at Docklands in 2002. This one will f**king rock as the Apollo is small in comparison.

Bollox to all those on ebay - i am seriously wondering what the hell goes down at hammersmith.  I saw a special one-off Bowie gig there that we had to queue for tickets in person for in 2002, and still , when we get to the gig a few nights later, there were SO many touts with loads of tickets (for ?300/?400!).  I seriously smell rats in the box office.

hello, this is my 1st post, i first saw gnr at wembly st in 91 then 92 then at milton keynes for both shows, then after that docklands and leeds.....  coming up is the download fest, today i got tickets for the big one....hammersmith.
but...i'm working on the wed and am facing a drive to london and back, because i need to be in newport, s.wales at 8a.m. the next day for the bus to download...is there anyone from that area going?

I rang Ticketmaster (0870 606 3400) at 9:00 today when the tickets go on general sale and they aren't accepting any calls. Not even putting you in a queue, just recorded message then disconnecting. I do have 2 tickets but wanted to see out of curiosity what is happening.

Shame that the touts and ebay scumbags have grabbed the best tickets. Plenty of people will be disappointed right about now.

However they are on the verge of announcing some more dates in the UK in July so it's not all bad news.

This is ballshit, that number is just disconnecting me. No operator nothing. Im doing my nut in right now!

If you get through you'll just get a message saying the service is unavailable, please try later. Maybe they've sold out already?

The venue holds about 8000 (inc seating), I can't believe they would have sold out that quick, it hasn't been advertised that much has it?

I've got tickets for Download on the Sunday, its just that London is a lot closer to me. Hopefully the UK Tour in July will happen so I can see them in Bournemouth.

Quite a few bands play Bournemouth in fact, the BIC is the largest venue south of London. And I've also spoken to the BIC box office who have confirmed that they 'are in talks with the promoters' regarding GnR playing there on the 28th.

Axl will like Bournemouth. The Winter Gardens are a lovely walk when all the flowers are in bloom and sometimes they have a brass band playing there too. He could also play on some of the fruit machines and video games on Bournemouth Pier. The beach is nice and sandy with plenty of deckchairs for hire. It's a nice place to relax and unwind.

i Think i know it - is it the one in the shopping centre in the bit where the underground is?  Just before you go into the underpass to get to the venue.  It couldnt be closer to the venue - nice one!  They must have lots of people who go there before gigs, so am sure would be receptive to it.  coma = man with the plan   :beer:

I've been there yes, went there in 2003 before I saw David Lee Roth at the Apollo, nice place, big aswell, lots of awesome beers and drinks.

The place is in spitting distance from the Apollo.

I'll be there as i'd rather be as close to the venue as possible and being at the trout allows it.

What's the apollo itself like? I've never been there. Intimate? Good sound?

im really glad i spent 700 quid to see them in new york when i bet they put exactly the same sort of show on at the appollo which is about an hour away :-\ Would have put my travel plans back a couple of weeks if id known!!!! thought New York was my only chance to see them on there own set up! Have fun all those going, I can say the shows in new york were mind blowing and the appollo is the same sort of thing as what the Hammerstein was. London will be better tho because the English rock harder  ;D

I've been to the Trout pub lots of times.  It's just across the street from the Apollo, and is situated in the Broadway shopping centre.  It's the pub that most people go to before a gig at the Apollo.  It's a good place to meet, but the only thing is that it will already be packed with people who are going to the GNR gig.

Yeah, that's what I suspect as well. It'll be packed with other people who aren't members of the boards.


If we want a "proper" board meeting, then we might have to do it at another pub in Hammersmith.

I'll go have a look around Hammersmith tomorrow and see if what other pubs are near that are cool.  I have one in mind, but I can't remember what it's called.

Its a great and classic venue - capacity approx 5,000, with sloped floor towards stage for those standing and a couple of tiers of seating. ?I've sat right at the back before and still felt it was a v intimate gig.

Sound is an interesting one - i guess it depends where you are. ?Slash did deafen me at the last VR gig - I was right in front of him and the PA - and it was fkn loud. ?But Scott's vocals were a bit low in the mix both times I saw them. ?but then, I've seen other bands there, and stood a little further back and it's been fine. ?The crowd will move around so much at the start - you will be able to re-position once the first few songs are played if you aren't in a prime position (if you're standing). ?As for seating - i think the sound will be fine there. ? : ok:

desperately searching for 2 standing tickets. Totally schoolboyed myself, rang up the presale and the security numbers had scratched off 2 of my cards with money on and i had no money on the others. got up early doors the next day to get on the phone, went to the bank transferred money to the working card. rang up, seating only left.

It is obvious that Slash and Gn'R ain't going to happen any time soon. Slash is so out of Gn'R these days. By the *new* doing so well and Slash seeing that Gn'R and him are over, i sure hope it helps him focus on making VR into really something, as after hearing the 1st VR album, i felt that the band were going though the motions, it wasn't really happening. Sure hope the VR album no.2 is good.

Curfews in London for the Apollo are supposed to be pretty bad- basically, we have to be out by 2330 or there are really bad penalties. So they need to take the stage around 9; I do wonder whether that will actually happen.

Having been to 2 GnR concerts in the past and ended up near the front standing, i must have lost half my body weight in sweat and i was anly wearing a t-shirt. The best bit came the following morning, i have trouble getting out of bed, i felt like i had been in a car crash, my ribs hurt alot. Reading this you might think i was some unfit over weight person, belive me i was as fit as a filddle.

I missed out on Hammersmith this time around. Looks like Wembly for me  :beer: (assumung they get the stadium finished).

It's the arena not the stadium, so it will definitely be on(when these dates are confirmed)

Maybe next year, if CD is successful & the the venue is complete, a Wembley Stadium show will happen!

They weren't hardly late at all when they played Docklands Arena in 2002, I got the last tubes home that night no probs and they played a nice long set - I honestly think that they will aim to get onstage around 10 at hammersmith - but if there's a problem, there's a problem - and axl will just pay a fine. ?I doubt very much they will screw up such an intimate UK treat.

most headline acts start at 9.10/9.30 at hammersmith - although VR kept us waiting for ages in Jan 05. shit happens! ?If anyone is worried about getting stuck - I'm looking into any late-licensed pubs nearby that people can hang at till the tubes start up again. ?Will post if I find any.

People from this board are unlikely to sell you tickets cause we are all diehard fans.  They certainly wouldn't charge more than they paid.  I honestly think the best thing is to look on Ebay (as much as that pains me to say!)

What if I dont receive tickets in the post?

If you have bought tickets online for an event that is some way in the future, chances are that the tickets may not be printed and despatched until about 6 weeks prior to the event.

I missed my ticket delivery on Wednesday so rearranged it for Friday at work between 9 and 5.
Friday 4:30pm and they haven't arrived so I ring the couriers only to be told they will now deliver on Saturday.
I tell them that the office is shut at Weekends and instead to send them to my home on Saturday.
They say it's too late as the tickets are now in another depot near to my work.
OK I said - send them to my work on Monday
Sorry we don't deliver on Mondays.
So now I have to wait till Tuesday !

You just need to leave your ID with somebody whos going to be at home.  Thats all I did left my passport with my mum at her house and he left the tickets with her.

that company is SHIT and nearly all major ticket outlets and banks use them.  I've had problems with them before.  Be firm with them and make sure you call them on Monday and be sure they have scheduled you in and someone has your driving license or passport to sign for you.

Don't worry, they get there in the end - but they fkn raise the old heart rate !!

Whenever watching other shows I'm always super pissed that sometimes the audience just sits there nodding their heads (tokyo dvd for example). I think everyone who's going should agree to raise the roof of the joint & make sure the new songs get some appreciation, I'm talking about singing the f*ckers back so he can barely hear himself & making sure there's enough chanting afterwards to ensure plenty of encores. We're british, the land of football chanting ff sake. A "who the fuck is buckethead" after ron's don't cry would also be particularly awesome....

London 02 was the first and only concert where Axl mentioned the possible release of CD, let's give him a good british welcome & ensure Hammersmith 06 is where he finally starts telling us when it's coming out.

Mandy, you'll get your tickets! But call them up, check they have the right address, and the right name, and give them your reference number. I called up Ticketmaster first, they gave me the number for SMS and ref number for my tickets, and I called up SMS then, and gave my ref number, and then asked where they were!!

I think getting the tickets even a WEEK before the gig like I did is cutting it fine!! They should deliver the tickets STRAIGHTAWAY after you buy them! Hell I've got stuff off eBay from the US and it only takes fucking 3 days to get to my house!!

i'm going to victoria and getting the tube to hammersmith (it's only about 15mins on the tube) then it's just a 5 min walk or so to the distillers arms for the pre-gig drinks!

I'm going by tube. I'll get it at East Putney, change at Earl's Court, get the Piccadilly Line (although Hammersmith is also on the District Line, there are more trains on the Piccadilly Line, every 1 or 2 minutes) and bam ?:D

Any one enquiring about the venue location - as you get off the tube at hammersmith - walk through the underground shopping centre, past a pub called the trout (i think) and go into a rather piss-stained underpass/subway thing - take first exit on right (Queen caroline st) and walk up the stairs and you are facing the wonderful apollo! ?It is SO close to the tube (and opposite bus station if anyone is coming that way). ?it is signposted too.

You want a good standing spot though. When I went to the Hammerstein I waited outside for 4 hours. It sucks while your waiting, but once I got upfront and the Guns went on stage, it was totally worth it. I cant wait til the next show in the States that I can go to.

It's a Concert. Axl will show up and Sing. Then he'll go home. Big Whoop! The people who are going to the show have a reason to be excited. But I don't get the excitement from people who have to have non-stop reports of Axls every breath when they arn't there. Do you need reports of how many lint balls the guy has on his shirt too? It's a bit to obsessive for my blood.

Can mobile phones interfere with audio equipment at concerts. They sure mess with my audio equipment. My audio speakers often play this tune every now and then when i can only guess the phone and the satellite are communicating with each other to get a location. Imagine this very same tune being blasted out during a show  :hihi:

I agree with ya there. BFMV was horrible, No groove what so ever. Loud bass, bass drums and shrieking.

Venue laws in England are very strict in the UK, they will either just fine him so many amounts or simple pull the plug.
Do you think if they got extremely close to pulling the plug on live 8, then they would really give a shit about doing it for a Guns N Roses concert.
