Security is much tighter over here apparantly......it's got nothing to do with not being willing to share.....I want to see a few also.....

can confirm that for the first Vegas night (9-16) saw one guy, had a cam and actually had the light on on it...which was a dead give away, but i think he turned it off shortly after, or got it taken away

Actually, I know last night, I was front row up against the barrier, and I had my digital camera in my hand all night. My batteries died pretty, so I couldn't get more than some pictures and a clip of the blues, but the security guard had no problem with me having my camera out the whole time. Merck and Fernando kind of looked like they were eyeing me for awhile, but nothing happened. Of course, if I was filming the entire show it probably would of been a different situation, but overall security wasn't bad.

Ummm well I'm going to be at the show... but I don't think I'll be giving updates.

I've never been to any concert before, and I've been waiting to see GNR play for many years... so I think I'll just have a good time instead.

why do so many ppl come to the site n get so greedy so quick. things will surface, it takes time for dvd's to surface especially, as u posted u wana see some in the other thread... They have to author it, split tracks, it always starts hidden, and makes its way out to the public. There were a LOT of pics taken by Cmetrz917 from the 2 vegas shows, if u check the update threads u will see them.

It's people like you who ruin it for the haters.
If no-one updates then they have nothing to bitch about, so they have to speculate. Then, when the setlist finally comes in, they have to bitch about their speculation being correct. Then they have to bitch about GNR being predictable. They have a lot of time to fill, you understand, between now and bitching about the album cover being the wrong shade of beige.

oo, thats good, theres alot of people who didn't know last night and were stuck splitting cabs and stuff. I took the wrong bus last night and ended up having to walk 12 blocks in a neighborhood I had never been in, didn't get back to my room until 3:30 or later. Transit is the worst part of concerts and stuff, lol.

Yeah, I'm hoping Axl becomes a bit more unpredictable during this tour. It seems too calculated. Back in the UYI days they'd really play something different every time - I think they should start doing that again. Take audience requests or something.

Post by: RancidPunx on September 22, 2006, 01:02:22 AM
Better not bring up the set list buddy. Cause if you do, you are not a "true fan" Not only that I was flamed for saying that these shows had weak set-lists considering there were die-hards who paid up to $150 per ticket. I can understand not busting out Coma in front of 40,000 at Inland Invasion, but to not do it in front of 1,500 of your most hardcore fans??

Title: Re: Sept. 21st, 2006 San Francisco

Ok, COMA is a bad example. I would love to hear the reasons why nothing different is played in front of the hardest of the hardcore fans. You show me a casual Gn'R fan who is gonna drop a deuce to see them?

Title: Re: Sept. 21st, 2006 San Francisco
Post by: HamsterDemocracy on September 22, 2006, 01:06:40 AM
Yeah I don't think we will ever hear Coma live again.

I hate to say this but I honestly don't think Axl could pull it off physically, he could barely do it back in the UYI days, I mean that's a ROUGH song to do live. Maybe I'm wrong but I think he'd have a hard time doing a ten-minute epic these days, I'm not saying he doesn't have a strong voice, I'm just saying physically he wouldn't be able to sustain himself for it - but then again he did surprise with '06 vocals so who knows?

Yeah I don't think we will ever hear Coma live again.

And that just sucks because it is such a great song.

But I agree the setlist needs a refresher. ?I have seen 4 shows of this tour now and while I loved every one of them I would love a few more UYI songs and obviously some new songs when they are fit to play. ?Flame me if you must but the setlist is getting dusty.

Title: Re: Sept. 21st, 2006 San Francisco
Post by: saint seiya on September 22, 2006, 06:30:43 AM
just got back from the show and i think i might be high due to all the weed in the theater but heres what I remember...

We waited in line for the doors to open till 8:00pm (they were supposed to open at 7pm). While waiting in line some black ppl would quitly say "i got grapes" meaning i got marijuana to sell to ppl there,i was laughing my ass off. There was a strip club next door to the theater too but i didnt see shit. We went in at 8pm and my seat was at the center upper lodge right behind the sound mixer and i was able to see what songs would come up next , it was so cool to see the guy mixing everything (i wanted to punch him for rock in rio though hehe). The show didn't start until 10pm from what i can remember with bach opening , now i never liked bachs singing but goddamn he was incredible. hes got ?a lot of energy swinging his mic and shit . One thing i noticed too is that since i was on the top lodge i was able to see the back of the stage to where the managment would be and the ppl helping would tune guitars, etc. Bach's guitarist had his guitar handed to him by some asian guy and while putting it on the strap broke so the asian guy nervously tried to put it back together before the song would start (i dont know the names of the songs) and then out of nowhere comes out Ian Scott , dude was fuckign awesome he played the last song, a dope rocker song youth something. Then 40 minutes later guns started.

i dont know what intro guns are playing but it sounds so fucking dope on stage , really loud reminds me of the jaws theme. then finck comes out wearing a cool lookin hat , shades and red socks and begins the wttj ?intro in front of some ppl. then the lights go on and u see axl coming out . this is my first guns concert ever and i got so many goddamn bootlegs and they dont do no justice ,even rock am rin dvd doesnt do justice. Guns equipment sounds so fucking clean its unbelieavble. right before the singing of jungle starts some fucking asshole throws a beer cup on the stage and axl looks really pissed but he starts singing. one thing that was really cool is that the warfield is not big neither is the stage but goddamn axl can move like a fucking snake , like i said i was seating on the upper lodge and everyone got up from their seats and i thought the buidling was going to collapse but i didnt give a fuck. then its so easy started and now i cant remember if it was before brownstone or after but axl got pissed at some ppl and got them kicked out , i dont know why but it happened twice. then i guess the same setlist from yesterday was played.

one of the highlights for me was sitting behind the sound mixer because the funniest thing happened, when Out ta get me started the sound guy (he must be on his early 50's) had some hot girls get inside his little boot  and he was talking to them and shit but they just wanted to see the show better and i guess he forgot to select out ta get me's setting or something and the song started messed up for a quick sec but he fixed it right away but axl noticed this and flipped him off while singing.

axl had some problems with his little earphone shit but i dont know why he needs that shit he sounded so fucking good. this band displaiyed a lot of energly and chemistry on this show, maybe because its a small place kinda reminded me of the ritz. axl sounded top notch bootlegs dont do no justice. ppl were dancing to Better which sounded awesome and fincks solo is not new is the same hes been playing but with a lot of delay. thats all. I enjoyed the fuck out of this show, like i said it sounded too good , everythiung went perfect excpet for when dude fucked up on out ta get me.

Nice review Saint....Heres todays from the SF Chronicle:

Peter Hartlaub, Chronicle Pop Culture Critic

Friday, September 22, 2006

When you're waiting outside a Guns N' Roses show at the Warfield in San Francisco, with the band still working the sound check an hour after the show was supposed to start and a line around the block so long that the back nearly touches the front, the imagination naturally wanders to how things might go wrong.

Our doomsday scenario: Axl Rose comes out at 2 a.m., plays two and a half songs, throws the mike stand at the sound man and storms off stage -- sparking a riot that leaves the 900 block of Market Street a crater of smoldering rubble.

In reality, something even stranger happened: The band appeared an almost-reasonable two hours late; played a tight two-hour, 15-minute set that sounded a lot like early Guns N' Roses; and Rose made a convincing case that he's finally in a good place.

"Tommy told me people are getting a little smashed in the front," a concerned Rose said early in the show, without a hint of a snarl for the security guards up front. "Everyone want to take a little half-step back so people can breathe?"

Rose's nearly-a-decade-in-the-making "Chinese Democracy" album may never come out, surpassing Spinal Tap's "Smell the Glove" as the ultimate rock band punch line. (Guns N' Roses hasn't released a studio album since 1993, a couple of years before the last of the original musicians left the band.) But for now, at least, Guns N' Roses II appears to have exorcised the demons that made Rose one of the most notoriously surly touring artists in history.

Wednesday night's sold-out show was the first of two at the Warfield -- part of a four-night smaller-venue warm-up before the band begins its first U.S. trek since 2002, when riots related to the band's inability to take the stage on time led promoters to scuttle the tour.

If the buyer's market outside the Warfield was any indication, confidence isn't high that this tour will turn out any better, and there could be plenty of empty seats inside the bigger arenas this time around. If you were a good enough negotiator, you probably could secure an upper-level balcony seat for a pack of cigarettes and half a cheese sandwich.

But those discounted scalped tickets turned out to be a decent bargain -- and not just for the kitsch value. After a spirited hourlong set by Sebastian Bach that had us at "I Remember You," Rose bounded out at 11:12 p.m. to the first notes of "Welcome to the Jungle." His conservative black jacket, gray T-shirt, jeans and red boots were typical of his four changes in dress. If it weren't for his shirt unbuttoned to the navel for half the show, he could have been going for a job interview at the Gap.

The band looks nothing like the original lineup -- only keyboardist Dizzy Reed has been held over from the 1991 "Use Your Illusion I & II" days, and no musician is left from "Appetite for Destruction" -- but it played accurate renditions of all the hits, with three guitarists, including former Nine Inch Nail Robin Finck and former Psychedelic Fur Richard Fortus, sharing the leads. Ex-Replacement Tommy Stinson is back on bass, and Primus drummer and Cupertino native Brain fill out the rhythm section, somehow avoiding getting seared by the mushroom clouds of pyrotechnics in the back of the stage. (Haven't these guys heard of Great White?)

But the new lineup sounded surprisingly tight as it barreled through 18 songs, plus four extended solos showcasing Reed and the guitarists -- including an apparently irony-free instrumental rendition of Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful" by Finck and Fortus. The set was heavy on songs from "Appetite," the band's first studio album. Four so-so songs from the alleged new album sounded like they could be outtakes from "Use Your Illusion III."

The 44-year-old Rose isn't quite as spry as he used to be, but he's back to his fighting weight, and his signature snake move is starting to look cobra-like again. (For a while, he was looking more like a python that just swallowed an antelope.)

His voice gets mixed reviews. The singer didn't miss many notes, and at times showed the range that he had in his prime, especially when he traded lines with Bach on the "Appetite" gem "My Michelle" -- easily the highlight of the evening.

But whether it was fatigue or poor sound mixing or both, his voice completely faded out at times. Rose also had the bizarre habit of sprinting backstage during almost every extended guitar solo -- as if he had a tuna casserole he needed to check in the tour bus oven.

A few incidents might have even deserved a swift and angry response, including a water bottle thrown on stage and a blast of feedback during the first of the new tunes. Rose seemed to let it pass, singing a few more crowd-pleasers and making nice with the audience, up until the confetti-filled encore.

"Please take care getting home!"

That seemed like an honest review, my buddy Micah was at the show and said Rose's voice sounded great but at sometmimes it was drowned out.

I still don't get how Guns N Roses can have the shittiest soundguy... I mean there is no excuse for them to have technical difficulties as much as they do.

it was so cool to see the guy mixing everything (i wanted to punch him for rock in rio though hehe).

it wasn't his fault, it was the TV broadcast guys doing a mess

one last thing before i go to bed. I know in the past i have critized the band for playing the same old songs but after tonight seeing peoples reactions to hearing their old favorites, it was one of the best things i have ever seen in my life. I saw old ass people dancing, little kids , black people, mexicans, it didnt matter everyone had a great time and i think its a bad idea to take off these classics. Not all people are super fans like us but they sure liked the "new" songs especially better. I wanted? to tell everyone there that i leaked the songs but? I didnt want to get kicked out.. Good night

He and Ron did it too in one of the gigs in Spain this summer. The temperature was very high and the heat became unbearable at one point in the night.  I was in the front row and people were thirsty and the guys who were right under the stage ( security I think) were also handing out bottles of water to the people. Very nice from them :)

Bu the way, nice review S.Seiya.

Axl:  I was never a nice boy!

Simply put tonight's Guns N' Roses show at the 2500 seat Warfield theater was incredible! After hitting last weeks Las Vegas shows as well as last nights opening night in SanFrancisco I really didn't think it could possibly get any better.....I was totally wrong.  Axl came out tonight with a presence about him that was spellbinding hitting every note dead on and on this night taking vocals to a place I thought impossible.

At one point holding a note for what seemed like forever. He really seemed to be in tuned to the audience this night.

My position could not have been better, on the floor 3 feet from center, right against the stage rail. I became intimately familiar with the security up front as well as the nearly nude chick behind me.  At one point the sweat from Axl and Richard Fortus rained down on our faces and we loved every minute of it. Speaking of Fortus he is an excellent member of this band, violently attacking his guitar slashing at it with such energy and emotion and playing a crowd favorite duet with Robin Fink the song beautiful.  GnR opened with WTTJ the crowd went wild, the pyro effects were off the hook , with huge bursts of flame and heat , and other effects exploding during key parts of various songs. Not to mention the audience provided smoke which filled the theater, passing freely in the crowd and having this fan a bit unsure of the exact set list order. The songs we heard ( in no order)  were , It's so easy, Mr. brownstone, Live and let die, KOHD,YCBM, SCOM, Nighttrain,  I used to love her, Better , Madagascar , IRS , The Blues , Patience , november rain , Out to get me, as well as the My michelle duet with Sebastian Bach.
Sebastian Bach and band brought the house down, perhaps being the perfect opener for Axl and co. Baz is a class act human being, last night inviting a six year old boy from the crowd to ride on his shoulders as he finished Monkey business. And tonight joking with the crowd about VH1's supergroup and telling us all he lied to Ted Nugent about quitting drinking, saying " Yeah i'm going to quit drinking while touring with GnR ...yeah fucking right! " Bach sang all the skid row hits perfectly as well as doing some new songs and a rendition of Journey's When the lights go down in the city as a special song for the crowd in SF.  While last night Bach and gang were great, tonight they really got the audience super pumped up for GnR and also brought out Anthrax's Scott Ian also from supergroup for one song. They closed with youth gone wild and the crowd was in a fervor totally pumped for GnR.
Then WttJ starts and the crowd explodes. Axl seems to have more energy now then when I saw them in the 80's/90's and the dance moves of old are completely back as well . During some of the new material Rose seemed to pay special attention to the few of us who knew them word for word , looking down smiling and really selling the hell out of these new hits, putting everything he had into it. I particularly enjoyed Better and IRS with tonight's IRS being the strongest rendition I've heard to date. Axl threw one guy out for being an ass telling him to suck his dick and waving bye bye.  As always there were a few a-holes in the crowd that would yell Slash and then others of us who told them to shut the fuck up. This lineup is a talented group more than filling the shoes of any former member. Robin fink stands out above all playing the role of mystic guitar god dressed as only he does, jumping into the crowd , writhing on the floor playing on his back ,then towering above us seeming like he is completely blown yet playing with precision and more emotion than anyone ever. Ron Thal AKA bumblefoot was also perfect tonight and plays the nice guy everyman of the group spending alot of time slapping hands with those in the crowd and at the end having to be dragged of stage as he wouldn't stop generously throwing picks out to us. If this show is any indication as to how committed this group is to playing the hits and offering some incredibly compeling new music, I cant imagine what level they will take this to when Chinese Democracy hits and the world realizes this band is better than ever.

Speaking for myself, I never said that you aren't a true fan - ovbiously you have some kind of weird love/hate thing going on with the band or you would stay the hell off message boards devoted to them- I just find it annoying that you post the same thing at every freaking opportunity. Did you think that no one was able to absorb your deep thoughts the first time around?  ::)

Interesting night to say the least gunners.

sebastian threw out a fan for throwing a cup at him when he was opening for gnr.

Axl threw out 2 fans. Told one " you think you're a bigger asshole than me? You got a lot to learn. I'm the biggest asshole. Suck my cock dickhead. What your mommy bought you the ticket so you waste money? I know I don't waste mine" then pointed to his shirt "see - king dick that's me"

"We are gonna have a good time tonight anyway" this was all during scom.

During my michelle, at a portion lights went on, sebastian hugged axl n pointed straight to me. Later at the club I asked sebastian and he said he was pointing at me and said "that guys cool, been to many shows". Later in the night sebastian standing side of stage waved hi, and after used to love her axl pointed to me and waved with both arms in a comical way as if trying to get my attention the way I was trying to get his. How did this happen? Well I chose to be center front seat of the balcony near soundboard and he had a clear sight of me as lights were on me. Later two girls came next to me and said "hey are you axls friend, can we sit next to you, why is he waving at you in the middle of a show" I said "I'm cool like that".

They did a very long set, blessing us w roclket queen. Again the sound was top notch, buit there were minor technical difficulties but nothing to whine about.

So after the show, we went to Whisper, an after hour club where we partied with the entire band. This was not a gnr performance, just the band chilling.
Let's cut to the point - I walked in w ron. Big club, one private table w axl and 30 models. Ron walked me up and introduced me.
Me "its a pleasure and honor to meet you"
Axl "hi thanks, hey did you catch the mic?"
Me "oh you saw I was the asshole waving at you the whole time"
Axl "haha ya thanks for supportin the band"
Me "no I didn't catch it, some guy behind me threw himself in the mix but its all good, I had a great time"
Axl "that's cool"
We toasted.
He sat back down next to his hot model gf.

Then I spoke to everyone else.
Ron said "hell no I'm not movin to LA"
Robin "hey I've seen you a lot, what's your name? I'm robin"
Me "ha ha ya I know I'm allen. Thanks for workin your heart out each show, welcome to the band I iwsh you all sucess"
Robin " hey thanks, Ill look for you saturday at kroq"
Me "ron do you check your myspace really?"
Ron "haha ya I do! Totally!"
Me "can I add you to my friends? Haha"
Ron "for sure bro!!"

Me "dizzy the piano is beautiful but did you write the blues as well?
Dizzy "no actually axl wrote the verses first, then I added the piano intro and bridge and then the band filled it in. Its the first song we've done together as a band. I'm real happy about it."
Me "that's awesome but robin's 'better' is also amazing. "
Dizzy " ya robin did the whole song, he is amazing. Then axl wrote all the lyrics"

Me "tommy can I buy you a drink"
Tommy "sure jack on the rocks"
We toasted jd together.

Then sebastian crashed in sebastian style.
Me "hey dude!"
Seb "hey glad you made it"
Me "dude am I wrong or were you pointin n waving at me during the show"
Seb "totally! I pointed you to axl! You're awesome for supporting them"
Me "where's your bro? He was so cool"
Seb "that's right you partied w him in london, he's in toronto. Dude you're everywhere!"
Me "ya. So?! :)"
We both laughed.

90 percent were women at the club.
The remianing men were either band members, managament, close friends of the band and 1 crazy fan.

After a night like that, do I need another minute in this city? Hell no.
Its 630am and I'm takin a flight home.

Next stop. Kroq.

Now that's a story Sladdi! I have to say that that may be the ultimate Gnr show to see (new band)-small classic/legendary theatre-Axl full of piss and vinegar-meeting the band...congrats.

Now, does anybody else DISLIKE the pyro? Do they really need the pyro?....kinda cheesy 80's kitsch...everything to me is perfect (even the solos) but the pyro just is not needed. I mean, I want to hear the guitars kick in...not an explosion. :hihi:

Anyhow, SF is an awesome town-where I went on my honeymoon 11 years ago this week! I'm jealous as hell Sladdi.

Thanks for posting that sladdi.

It mentions his name, Allen. I think sladdi is the messenger in this case.

I remember that guy. I think. He was in the UK in July.

I might've even taken a pic of him at Nottingham Castle because this tall American asked me to take a pic of him..... I saw a smiliar looking guy in London a few days later.

Guns N' Roses comeback not bad, but not nearly good enough
By Tony Hicks
CONTRA COSTA TIMES
Axl Rose has a lot to make up for. How he's going to do it is still a mystery, even after seeing the singer and his band, Gun N' Roses, at the Warfield in San Francisco Wednesday night.

If you don't want to hear comparisons to the old GNR, stop reading now. That's what's going to happen when a one guy hijacks the name of a legendary band, doesn't tour or make records for a decade, then comes back resting squarely on the deeds of years past.

Rose has hired a stage full of musicians to play under the moniker that so many people still know and love. No Slash to play guitar anymore? No problem. Rose hired three great players who look and sound like superstars -- though three was probably a bit of overkill.

, leading one to the obvious conclusion as to the identifiable sound and skill level of the old guys.

No Duff on bass? No problem. Rose hires Tommy Stinson, the bassist from the Replacements, one of the greatest alt-rock bands to ever grace the planet.

No Matt Sorum on drums? Rose gets Brian "Brain" Mantia, the excellent drummer of the Bay Area's own Primus.

That's a lot of credibility with which Rose has armed himself to take Guns N' Roses into its new phase. Well, at least the touring version of the new phase. We're still waiting (more than a decade) for the release of GNR's infamously oft-delayed "Chinese Democracy" record.

So the question is this: What was Rose trying to accomplish Wednesday night? Is it truly a new Guns N' Roses he's shaping, or is he trying to replicate the feats of the old band while nudging the current lineup into new territory?

It wasn't clear. Rose may not realize that without a new record, and playing with an ever-shifting line-up of non-household names, fans can only judge the new GNR on the old GNR. As far as that goes, they sounded fine. They played all the old stuff during a late-running set that, while a nice trip down memory lane, still fell short of expectations. That's what happens when a legendary band lets four out of five original members leave and waits more than a decade to do anything.

While Rose is still a dynamic frontman with a unique voice, so much of GNR used to depend on the laid-back coolness-that-could-explode-at-anytime vibe of the former members. It's hard to even call the new GNR anything but an Axl Rose solo band, featuring some nice backing players.

Looking better and more lively than what he's shown on scarce TV appearances in the past few years, Rose himself fought through sound problems to attack the stage like the Axl of old.

From opener "Welcome to the Jungle," through "It's So Easy," "Mr. Brownstone," "Live and Let Die," "Sweet Child O' Mine," and "You Could be Mine," everything sounded good and looked good, except for a couple of minor hiccups on "It's So Easy." At least, everything was as right and good as possible with so many unidentifiable faces on stage.

That's the thing -- guitarists Robin Finck, Ron Thai and Richard Fortis are all very good players (though we could've done without three guitar soloists taking up so much of a 21/2-hour set). All three try damn hard, running about, striking the right rock poses, sneering ... all the standard stuff from Rockstar 101. But that in itself was strange, as GNR never had to try so hard. The new guys are doing their best, but when it comes down to it, they painfully lack by comparison. It takes three guys bashing about to equal the absolute coolness of Slash and Izzy, who never had to resort to punching strings and doing windmills to make a point.

The few new songs scattered about the set were short of memorable, lacking the band's former and very-underrated natural groove. Some songs dragged ("Knocking on Heaven's Door,") and some were appropriately epic, like "November Rain," though Slash was dully missed. The crowd didn't seem to care who was up there playing under the GNR banner, with monstrous sing-alongs all night, especially during "Patience."

Maybe old fans need to get over the fact that it's a new century for GNR. But until Rose and his new crew can forge an identity with a new record one of these years, Guns N' Roses won't be able to escape the shadow of its former greatness."

Why would the above review point out the fact that the band members were all in high-profile acts, only to refer to them as "unidentifiable faces" a few paragraphs down?

Either way, a lot of the points made in the review might be all too common across the country until GNR can finally shed the shackles of past glories by releasing the record and finally be judged on the merits of their own material.

one last thing before i go to bed. I wanted  to tell everyone there that i leaked the songs but  I didnt want to get kicked out.. Good night

DUDE, enough with your stupid fucking racist comments.  I don't need to hear about how funny it was to see black people selling weed, or blacks and mexicans dancing to gund n' roses.  what about stupid dumbass white kids (?) with bitch attitudes like yourself?

and i don't know what these other people on here are thinking, but your review sucked.

And maybe saying what he sees wasnt the best way to put it, so he tells it how it is.

yeah so anyway, back on the topic.....who's got live footage handy??? anyone, anyone......I know that the Invasion show will have some sort of download available.....I can't see it live because...well....it has to do with me getting laid....all night. I mean, which would you choose?

there was some clips in AFC, not much, but thats all ive seen. And honestly, I think I would choose gnr, you can get laid anytime, but gnr comes only so often.

corrections based on memory:

Intro
Welcome to the Jungle
It's So Easy
Mr. Brownstone
Live and Let Die
Robin Finck Solo
Sweet Child O' Mine
Knockin' On Heaven's Door
Fortus & Finck Beautiful
You Could Be Mine

November Rain
My Michelle (With Baz)
Out Ta Get Me
Used to Love Her
Ron Thal Solo
IRS
Patience
Rocket Queen
Nightrain
Madagascar
Paradise City

still not sure about that song order from november rain - > nightrain, but this is at least closer to the actual set list.

haha but don't forget he's a big guy, really tall and all.. I'm sure that's not his actual height, he's taller than what you can tell from the picture so if you see him standing in a right way his head is normal size in proportion to his body and bone structure

btw, I'm lovin' your pic with Tommy, Kitty!!!

Nope, no more pics. The security guards were in different spots last night, and the ones near me were pretty strict with no flash/video, and my camera sucks if I try it without flash, so I didn't take any. Plus I was pushed up against the front barrier so hard I don't think I would of ever been able to get it out of my pocket.

I plan on writing a review, probably later today after I do some laundry. Right now I'm still out of it from less than 7 total hours of sleep since tuesday.

Yea there were like 8 people outside the back of the venue and Axl was out for about all of 4 minutes. Axl came out about 3:20am, the rest of the band came out fairly quickly after the show. Richard and Chris walked out first, Richard said hi, but no one really bugged him because he had his daughter with him, and Chris wouldnt even wave. Then Dizzy came out, and immediately after that Tommy came out. 15 minutes later or so, Robin came out. They were all in a huge rush, all said they had to get somewhere.

Kitty..OMG.... :o
I would fuckin' frame that and, like, make the frame gold or summat. How'd you get to meet 'em? You just wait outside? Weird that he didn't mind you taking a pic.

Yup... and I was one of those eight ... How do you post display pictures on this thread. I wanna post my shit too.  :peace:
upload them somewhere like photobucket, and use the [img] tag

Cool!!

I wonder if he'll play it at the Inland Invasion.

Thanks for the pics and reviews.  :-*
I love reading the tidbits.

Then axl wrote all the lyrics"

uh huh..these are pieces of news worthy of note about better and the blues.

Its 630am and I'm takin a flight home.

Next stop. Kroq.

For some reason I thought you lived in europe.

Interestingly enough, I could've sworn that Axl said at the first SF show that he was asked to leave a restaurant because he had his shirt unbuttoned.  Either asked to leave or asked to button it up :)

Really. That'd be hilarious if it's true. You think that'd be his cue to get with it :hihi:

:hihi: Well I can solve that problem right now. Wear a black shirt and then the bling will stand out perfectly. Trust me doing your shirt up is much more fashionable than showing off your... errrr....ummmm... supposed chest I guess. :hihi: .

I think the look is cool. ?I guess I'm not hip in your eyes Bono. ?If you watch Entertainment Tonight or Access Hollywood, this is actually a very fashionable look. ?

Anyway, do you really think Axl gives a shit what people think about what he or guys in his band look like??? ?Did you see the '02 tour? ?Have you seen a man with a KFC bucket on his head with a michael Myers mask? a scary Goth-looking dude with a half-shaved head? jerseys, braids, and extra weight??? ?

If you enjoy the music, that's all that matters. ? ? ? ?

Sebastian was good, but it didn't give me that standing-up-and-rocking-out feeling until Youth Gone Wild.  I Remember You was one of my favorite performances too, since it's one of my favorite songs. I was choked up for most of it.  ;D The wait for GNR after Baz was done was agonizing, even though I knew it was going to happen.  It was fun being a part of the people caught on edge whenever the guitar parts would play randomly.  My heart's beating faster thinking about the Intro and Welcome to the Jungle.  I let myself go insane during that song, screaming, singing, and jumping around.  I didn't notice it, but my dad said the whole balcony was shaking during that moment.  It was insane, knowing that I was finally seeing GNR, and that Axl was actually right there in person.

I stood up for almost the whole show, letting myself recover during the jams.  It was fun using my minocular (since I have slightly poor vision, it gave me a better view, AND it's also a nice way to see what the band's doing up close.), especially during a couple of my favorite moments.  Those being:

1. During one of the jams, Axl was dancing back to back with (I think) Richard.  He looked happy, like he was having a great time.
2.  At the end of Patience, when the instruments were just finishing up, I was using my minocular once again.  Axl had lifted his arms up, and at one point, I noticed him looking upwards and breaking into a huge grin.  I don't know if he was really looking up at the area I was in, but it's one of the best thoughts to entertain.  I'm hoping at least one person got a picture of that moment.

I didn't even feel disappointed or like WTF? when they paused Sweet Child O' Mine because I was so drawn into the experience.  Angry Axl also entertains me to no end, as long as he doesn't storm off the stage and quit the show.  I loved the whole King Dick bit, that's the Axl I know and love.  The band sounded superb, and I'm completely sold on them now.  Robin and Bumblefoot sounded great, and it was a nice shock for me, my brother, and my dad to hear Bumblefoot play a little bit of Eruption.  Usually GNR songs don't do a lot for me as well as feeling sad goes, but I got choked up during the first half of November Rain and Madagascar, and The Blues now makes me misty. What a beautiful song.  It's still so surreal to me that I actually saw GNR play live.

And as gifts, here's a few pictures my dad got.  Let me know if the size is a problem, and I'll resize them.  I know they're fairly large, but I figured they should be shown at their best quality.

http://img126.imageshack.us/my.php?image=p9220276za6.jpg  - One of my absolute favorites.

And a quote I just remembered, by Axl:

(After Used To Love Her) "This song is from our tender past.  It's filled with compassion and empathy.  It's a song about love, which spelled backwards is EVOL." - Axl.  One of the guitarists did the "wah-wah-wah" sound effect after that.   :hihi:

What about some fucking vids from any of the shows? Our american friens dont seem so willing to share as the people over here in europe.

Security is much tighter over here apparantly......it's got nothing to do with not being willing to share.....I want to see a few also.....

from what the member who went to the shows said, there were several filmers at all gigs...
I went to the Vegas show and It is completley taboo to film anything there!!

That show was sooo awesome. I haven't been to a show with pyro before.

Meghan! Your pictures are so awesome. By 3:20 am, I was totally passed out.  I give you props for staying up, you lucky girl :)

My seat was up in the upper balcony in row M but it was still a decent view.  I didn't have to look over people's heads (I'm 5' 2").  My friend bought a couple of drinks and I had a few sips.  I really shouldn't have because I got a huge headache and it didn't mix very well with my jetlag since I could barely keep my eyes open for a good quarter of the show.  That's besides the point, haha, I've learned my lesson.  I loved when Scott Ian came out during Baz's opening.  "Rock is a SAVAGE ANIMAL."  Then Guns came out.  Everyone was completely mesmerized by the band.  My Michelle with Baz was great of course.  I was surprised that they played Rocket Queen.  I've always wanted to hear it live.  I did find it peculiar that Axl kept running backstage during a lot of the solos.  I thought he would get on the platform and jump off.

A lot of my pictures came out blurry so here are the best out of the bunch:
