Title: The Harp!
Post by: the dirt on January 27, 2007, 06:16:12 PM
I'm thinking ofpicking up the harp and possibly applying it into some kind of money making venture.

Anyone here play the harp? Thoughts, knowledge, etc?

Harp as in harmonica-style mouth harp?  Or the actual string-plucking harp?

My mom has played the Celtic harp for somewhere between 10 and 15 years now.

The big string-plucking style ones.

Er, not that I know of. :nervous:

What's the problem?

What's the problem?

Nah, nothing at all. Just didn't think that anyone on a GN'R board would play a harp.  ;D

The huge pedal harps are wicked expensive.  I've heard prices of $10-20,000 for the majority of them.

Celtic harps are smaller, more affordable, and probably easier to play.  My mom got hers for $600 or so, and it probably runs about $850 or so now, if I had to guess.  If you're interested in playing the harp, I'd recommend trying a Celtic one first.
