Title: 28 weeks later
Post by: Izzy on May 11, 2007, 06:33:38 PM
I heartily recommend this film to everyone

Its the funniest movie I have probably ever seen.

If you want bucketloads of cliches this is the film for you. Everything in this film is hysterical from the deranged directing, absurd ''plot'' and side splitting lines

...its also the only film where you are rooting for the zombies. The most unlovable cast ever assembled are hunted down by zombies in a film that believes the Isle of dogs and Wembley stadium are adjacent

20 US marines lead a ''NATO'' force to rebuild London - despite expecting an outbreak of ''zombie virus'' their plan if the worst is to happen consistes of nothing more than killing everyone infected or otherwise regardless of whether people can be saved or not

Fav bit: the General telling his men not to shoot un-infected people....well duh?

The film plays out like Dick Cheney's Plan B to Iraq - kill em all!

Go see this film now - its comedy genius, you'll laugh till you cry

I wasn't expecting much from this film, but your post gave me hope that at least I can go see it and get a laugh out of it if nothing else.

Oh, its a comedy.

Whilst we are on the topic of films with numbers. Was Norton in a film called 24/7?

I think that had an alternate ending as did 28 days later. Most people walked out before the credits - hence not getting the punchline or the fact that it was indeed a? comedy. Comedy, tragedy from one end of the spectrum to the other. Closely linked.

i thought it was okay. it was entertaining, it couldnt live up the to the first one tho. there were some cool action sequences and stuff, but this sequel was really unnecessary. also some shit didnt make sense

SPOILER

the mother was unguarded??? WTF?? even if it seemed like she was immune to the virus why would they take chances like that?

END SPOILER

o well, although flawed, it was fairly entertaining.

lol indeed - and the janitor had the key - and the zombies knew how to work swipe cards!

The virus is explicitly stated as not affecting animals - er...the first film? Did they even watch it?

I thought of another bit that literally had the cinema rocking with laughter

Robert Caryle infected with zombie virus stumbles out into a car park where a guard looking for zombies (and armed!) lets him approach and bite him! The way its filmed is just hysterical

The whole film is taking the piss out of America in Iraq, change the zombies to Iraqis and you have it. I'd honestly have been deeply offended if British troops had featured, every American is shown as utterly clueless.

Loved the way the new Wembley stadium features in a film set in 2003 :hihi:

What are u waiting for - go to the cinema now, grab some popcorn and laugh yourself hoarse in a filmd desperately trying to be serious!

lol yeah i?think that was the biggest mistake, the fucking virus spread from monkeys didnt it? thats just fucking sloppy on their part saying it doesnt spread to other species.

anyway yeah overall it was very flawed but it wasnt THAT bad. i guess cuz im just such a huge horror/zombie junkie i found it hard to hate it.

it was decent to me, but highly unnecessary. the first one was really special, kinda of had a original spin on such worn out subject matter (zombies). this sequel is just ur average mindless zombie flick i guess.

o yeah and that shaky camera during the action sequences, especially in the beginning, was sooo fucking annoying. i mean its okay for a little bit to get a sense of what its like to be in a situation like that, but thats it. waaaay too much, it was hard to tell what the fuck was going on the camera was so shaky.

Not sure yet, but will keep you all posted.

Actually a leading scientific study suggests as many as 1 in 10 Republicans have basic human qualities like kindness and compassion - we are on the verge of a new era of human/republican relations
