why do i not see any rants about joe perry, and green day appearing on the show being posted?

as much as it was a pleasant surprise to see perry, and him playing the beatles song sent shivers down my spine, i need to know why is no one typing "SELL OUT" everywhere?

Wow. I love Aerosmith but that is lame. I had no idea he appeared cause I have never seen the show. I think it's the death of art. But as far as Aerosmith goes I learned to deal with that a long time ago. There's really 2 Aerosmiths. The Band in the seventies that were all about making some of the most amazing rock music ever and then there's the band from the mid eighties on. Not that Pump and Get a Grip aren't great albums it's just that the band has admittedly said in interviews that alot of their writing has to do with what they think will sell and what will get played on music video stations. At this point after seeing them throw dream on into car commercials and them appearing in GAP ads and that god awful song from armageddon no one ranted about it because it probably wasn't all that shocking. Green Day appearing is pretty lame too.

the 70s stuff is ok, but doesnt have full on album listens for me.

i grew up listening to there 80s stuff richardnixon, they hold more memories for me, i didnt discover there 70s stuff till much later, and i personally preffer the 80s stuff.

Aerosmith has always written great songs in all eras, even now. I thought Sedona Sunrise was a great song.

I made fun of D cuz he was going on a big sellout binge when supernova had their show...so when BonJovi was on Idol i had to say something :hihi: i dont give a crap if people appear on those shows or not :peace:

Exactly i mean really people complain about anything, i mean hell as a GN'R fan i think a lot of Axl's hero's aren't to good, never been much of an Elton John or Queen fan but i don't let that bother me it doesn't affect his music.  If artists wants to go on these shows and make some more money then fine, people are happy to sit back and say oh i'd never do that, well hell when the cheque's is waved in your face i'm sure many would change their minds.  Ultimately though it's the music that counts i would rather pick up a sellouts CD which i enjoy listening to than someone who stays true to their roots, never sells out and releases boring, crap with no enjoyable aspects, if an artist releases a good album i'll buy it whether they appear on American Idol, Baywatch, Buffy....who the hell cares ::)  People complain about the music industry especially pop being all about image and looks, well it seems it's the same with rock and metal, go on the wrong show and even if your music is good your fans go crazy....

i listen to ALOT of rock and i find some of there work to be good, so i guess im not a "real" rock fan, im just a "poser". Now metallica the big hypocrites can moan at me cause im a "poser", even if there mission impossible video didnt show then off as the same....anyhow.

You can dislike them all you want but to say they're not talented songwriters is just stupid.

If 'sucky' songwriters can make such songs as Keep the Faith and Dry County, then by all means I wish I sucked too. Besides, who are you to define what a 'real' rock fan is? I've always hated that kind of cavalier attitude.

Real rock fans- drink JD straight up and listen to VH, LZ, the Who, GN'R etc.

Soccor moms- Listen to Bon Jovi, drink wine coolers, watch sex in the city.

Sambora is a good guitar player and musician, but that band has put out nothing but shit, IMHO. Just IMHO mind you. It's pure candy-ass pussy music.

"Dry County" is one of their best songs, such a spiritual and loved song about hope.

They are a good band, whether you guys want to admit it or not.
