I think it's exploitive to market that as someone's dreams coming true, you don't see many "Christina Aguilera" looking chicks at real opera houses.

Yuck someone beat her with an ugly stick.

I had a bad dream the other nite....some thing drastic, a hugest earth quake or a missile crash happens and everyone was seeking refuge.

hope it never comes true.

And yet she probably sings better than handsome you....

I just read about this and saw some of the vid on some news sites. YouTube is blocked at work, so I can't hear the whole song *grump*

I got to see the very beginning of her performance, though.  She was laughed and snickered at....until she opened her mouth.  Everyone in the audience (and the judges) had their own mouths drop open in astonishment.  The juxtoposition of her ordinary appearance and her beautiful singing voice made the whole thing incredibly surreal.  If it hadn't been on a well known show, I'm sure that most people would have thought that the voice was dubbed.

I can't wait till I get out of work and am able to hear the entire performance. 

She was cool and charming throughout.

But the show seems very scripted.
People can't be that ugly and silly in public as the judges and the crowd were before her performance.

Me too. Her dream came true in that millions of people around the world have been moved by her singing. Up til now, the world has only seen a frumpy woman with learning disabilities. She had the courage to put herself out there, and now millions of people know that she has the voice of an angel. If you can make Simon Cowell smile like that, than ANYTHING is possible.

I kept seeing this story and video posted everywhere but I never bothered to look.

But since that awesome lion video was posted last year, I knew this had to be good.

I hope Susan Boyle makes it big!  I could care less about her looks or whatever disability she may have, that woman can SING!  :o

I think its great shes gotten noticed, when usually she wouldnt but. Its so bloody predictable now, i hate these shows.
