Post by: Mechanical-Worm on April 01, 2010, 06:42:06 PM

Thanks

Could be a bit obvious though, and restrict your fun a little!

Ideally though, get in there a day or two early, and mount a potentially sacrificial fixed camera somewhere safe,  and retrieve it after the show, or even the next day..

If going handheld, get http://www.2dayblog.com/2009/03/05/pixavi-wireless-hd-communication-camera/   one of these,

Take a backpack with you, fill it with stuff and hide your camera somewhere else.
That's how I got my photo camera inside in Canada and security was pretty tight!

When I see some youtube clips I wonder if they check on camera's at all in South America

Depends on the venue, depends on the band, a lot of things like that.

Some places I've walked right in with it in my pocket :)

do what my mate did for one or two shows, take two cameras, one completely broken, and the other one working fine. hide the working one very well, and do a shit job of hiding the broken one, that way they'll find the broken one and proceed to confiscate it and let you through with the other one still on you. might even get a new camera if you can convince them it worked when they took hold of it

here in Chile i got into the show with a camera, a couple of batteries and a Marker Pen, i also had my mp4 player, my cellphone my keys and other stuff, the security wasn't very tight. i recorded several videos and i was in the front line, about 2 meters away from Axl,  i guess he noticed but he didn't care.

Depends on where you are with backpacks though, many places don't let bags in.

Most festivals and large outdoor shows would allow backpacks i should imagine. Some indoor arenas are stricter with checks though and security always seems tighter
