Post by: spookeend on July 24, 2010, 10:21:26 AM
Got this here now, i recorded it, and it's great stuff.

Thanks! Cool stuff

Question...why don't you share this things instead only stream them?

I mean...you don't have to be a rocket scientist to get those tracks. In fact, I already have them in my hard disk.

Some (maybe cool) info:

THE FASTBACKS:
The band released at least one single while Duff was a member of the band. In May 1981 the single, that featured two tracks: "It's Your Birthday" and "Can't Be Happy", was released.
The songs were recorded in a studio in January 1981, two more songs were recorded back then too: "Someone Else's Room" and "Was Late"; "Someone Else's Room" was released on a compilation during 1981 and "Was Late" saw the light in 1991 when a british label released some older Fastbacks recordings on a special LP.

SILLYKILLERS:
The band released a 4-track EP in 1982, although some sources claim that the recording took place while Duff was a member of the band. The tracks on the EP were "Not That Time Again", "Knife Manual", "Social Bitch"and "Sissie Faggots". Duff is rumoured to have played drums, while somebody called Eddie was the singer, bass was played by Gary who also provided the vocals and Slats played guitar. On the backsleeve of their EP the drummer is named Tim. It could possible be that either Tim was their drummer when the EP was finally released, or Tim had re-recorded some drum tracks. However this is only an assumption.

THE VAINS:
The only release the band had was a 7'' single featuring the following tracks: "The Loser", "School Jerks" and "The Fake". According to the info on that single Criss Crass played on that release too, but it is not mentioned if he was a regular member or not.

thnx for the extra info, like that.

And, i know they can be loaded (even with my limited knowledge of flash) :P, but since i have no intention having a downloads website (i think i share enough), at least the "casual" visitors will not load instantly, just because they can. Now, if one really likes the tracks, i know they can be taken. That is fine by me. I could have made much more complicated stuff to prevent from loading. but i have to be little carefull with bandwith.

Then again to save space and loading time, the tracks are in 64 kbps bitrate, so, why have them loaded? I am sure all of the tracks i put as example to listen can be found elsewhere in better shape easy?

The idea is really to provide an indication of the sound quality of the bootleg.

Funny little detail, the image that is used on the front, later appeared on a bootleg called ?Everybody?s Ass Is Up For Grabs!?. On the Duff one the word ?ass? is stroked out, and replaced by the word ?past?. It is signed by ?Robt. Williams?, features a naked girl in dispare, so might be same artist that made the Appetite For Destruction artwork?
Side A : (called side 1)

1. Vains : The Loser
2. Vains : The Fake

Side B : (called side A)

1. Silly Killers : Social Bitch
2. Fastbacks : It?s Your Birthday

Ideal to have so much right now, can compare a lot.....

Amazing to see that even with so much concerts out there in the open, a lot is the same on many bootlegs
