Guns N 'Roses will play in Rybnik!

June 30, 2012 at Municipal Stadium in Rybnik will be legendary rock band Guns N 'Roses.

- Later this week we are going to sign a final agreement with the organizer. Prestige Agency. It was then that we will know the ticket prices - says Lucyna Tyl, a spokesman for UM Rybnik.

Officials believe that June 30 is the best time for the concert.

- From what we know at the moment is on this day will not be played in any match in Euro 2012, so fans of both football and the team will not have to choose - Back Lucy adds.

The magistrate also emphasizes that the choice was a lot of stars.

- Sting, Eric Clapton, Aerosmith - the likes of us has proposed organizing a concert, but we are in consultation with the residents decided to Guns N 'Roses - spokeswoman added.

Guns N 'Roses will be the next global star who appears in Rybnik. Recall that on June 13 at Rybnik stadium played Bryan Adams.

Great news!!! I was thinking that maybe 2012 would be a quiet year on the GNR front.

Before 25 days there were a rumor about Guns n roses show in poland in summer 2012.Also there were rumor "ticket will be on sale before christmas"

Katsidis is down so all the 2012 Euro tour dates are down at the moment too. Axl did say that they r busy all 2012 so dates will probably come out at some point in 2012. For now no show in Rybnik or whatsoever.

As far I know this is true. For now, show in Poland isn't confirmed or canceled.

You don't really get to cancel anything that hasn't been confirmed. I reckon it's only a huge rumour with absolutely nothing to confirm. Then of course it probably could still happen but we just need to wait and see.

They don't need no big manager to book a tour. It's not like they're some new band looking to open for someone else...

They've all seen this thing happening before, I used to book bands to play in Greece and I still remember what's needed to do it right.

Ofcourse this is a big tour and much is needed for their production but they've been doing this all their lifes. And I'm pretty sure Beta knows a LOT more than most people are crediting her for.

Anyway, we'll know when we'll know (even though a little heads-up would be nice so we could gather some money, which is hard to find in Greece these days...)

well thats way one shouldnt say anything until its on paper, Rybnik is a little town, I imagine this gig being held in Warsaw or Wroclaw or any other major city instead that shitty stadium no one ever heard of.

Well, but last year they visitited also smaller cities in europe. Places like Amneville, Aalborg or Arnhem are not the greatest towns in France, Denmark or Netherlands.

Sure but netherlands isn't that big and Arnhem is reachable for most people who want to, even if you live at the other side of the country. Plus it was near the German border so as there was no gig in Germany, German fans still had the possibility to go. The venue had capacity from 12.000 - 35.000 or something. So they did think that one through :)

yea and all those are somehow familliar, Rybnik its just a shithole 30 minutes from where i live...., Silesian Capitol CIty Katowice are nearby.... Well we will know in couple of month, and with all the shit going on in Polish press and web I would preffer a smaller close venue, like 10000 or so. And there is no Euro 2012 in that region of Poland, thats thousands of potential fans from all over the europe.

Central Europe is very reachable by train and with current flight prices it doesn't really matter where the gigs are :beer:

Yep Rybnik is small but well last summer they did Bryan Adams concert for 15 000 people (I'm not sure how much people was really there). If you pay enough, GNR would play even on Moon.
And stadium where Guns N Roses played first show in Poland also wasn't brilliant at all ;)

With the European Championship going on at the same time, there will be no shortage of people adding to their football experience with other things and a Guns show would fit that bill for some people no doubt....

So here are great news ! We have a rumour about the UK 2012 Tour and now that. Hope they add Germany, Greece, Hungary and other countries they didn't played in 2010. And I hope they add other songs from Chinese like Prostitute, I.R.S., If The World, TWAT and Scraped. And play some other old songs and maybe new songs  :peace:

and hope they will ad dates from 2010 where they have a big audience like (Belgrade 15000,Zagreb 15000,Rome and Milan where they had soldout shows+ Russian and ex Ussr date+festivilas)...that would be a very sucesufull tour

Nothing new. They talkin that Guns N Roses show will take place in Rybnik 30.06, short history of band (about 90'), they're wondering what shape Axl would be. And compare GNR concert to show of Roxette and Thomas Anderson from Modern Talkin...

Prestige MJM told on their facebook that they gonna to announce concert one of the most popular rock band in the world on Monday. And Major of Rybnik announce a press conference also on Monday and put youtube video of Garden of Eden.

So probably there will be show of Guns N Roses.

Huge rumours always tend to come true as the papers are signed but what's with the mayor ;D

Meanwhile, legendary rock group Guns N' Roses will be playing in Rybnik, southern Poland, on 11 July.

The gig was confirmed by Janusz Stefański of Prestige MJM, a co-organizer of the event, today, coinciding with the 50th birthday of group leader Axel Rose.

It will be the second concert of Guns N' Roses in Poland. They previously performed at Warsaw?s Legia Stadium in June 2006.

The gig in Rybnik is part of a series of high-calibre events under the motto ?Prestigious Stars. Golden Hits?, which is co-sponsored by the Złote Przeboje (Golden Hits) commercial radio station.

There were 4 supporting bands before GNR. The last one finished at 9.p.m. Stage was ready 9.40, then the waiting started. People were getting nervous, some swearing, yelling at Axl, throwing shit on stage (at least a couple plastic bottles). I saw Frank backstage maybe around 10.30, Jarmo and Del walking there as well, but there were no signs of others. There?s no point of complaining ?cos at 11.20 lights went out, intro started, followed by the first chords of ChD and the crowd went apeshit. Suddenly fans started to jump and forgot about aching feet and backs. The first 4 songs were crazy, you had to jump in order not to be crushed by the hectic crowd. Sorry was the first song when I got a chance to breathe normally and finally hear Axl (unfortunately most of the time I heard fans singing every word, drowning Axl?s voice). That?s why it?s hard for me to assess his voice that night, I won?t do it and I really did read contradictory opinions on that from other people. I sang myself on a few occassions including the coda of RQ, ?did you wear a black armband? on CW and ending of PC. TIL was one of the highlights, with the amazing solo from Ashba. One of the songs which I would get rid of is definitely Tommy?s Motivation (I?d call it worthless screaming). Other jams and solo spots were great, the best one probably DJ?s Mi Amor, most of the fans would prefer Ballad of Death, though. Bumblefoot played some Chopin (a Polish composer, not French), which was cheered by the crowd. I was waiting for NT, my most favourite old song they play live, but unfortunately Axl didn?t let Ron develop his solo... Don?t Cry was great, Patience as well ? Ashba makes this solo sound so good, KOHD with the singing part. Besides, the crowd was really great, there were parts of the crowd made by pogo dancers their own, people jumping, singing along almost all the time. The encore included only 2 songs: Patience and PC, the whole gig lasted 2h40min, exactly up to 2 a.m. Axl was smiling quite a lot, but didn?t talk almost at all, although he liked the gigantic flag (10 x 7 metres) taken out by the crowd which said: welcome back to poland (They played in Poland in 2006). Kat Benzova was making photos of this banner right in front of Frank?s drum kit. At least two bras were thrown on stage, one was hanging from DJ?s guitar neck and another was worn by Frank for a short time :) I was standing around 20-25 metres from the stage and it was a great experience. They played a solid set and entertained about 17 000 people. Axl defined the crowd as ?rowdy? so I guess he had a good time too.
