Seminal rock icons GUNS N' ROSES are set to invade New York during fashion week with a series of intimate shows then continue with additional stops through the northeast, announced today. Six shows confirmed so far including the historic return to The Ritz (now Webster Hall), 24 years after the filming of their heralded "Live At The Ritz" ? the MTV concert continues to be one of the most sought after trades in bootleg circles. For the Webster Hall date, GN'R will celebrate their return by reclaiming the venue as The Ritz with signage and the name appearing on the marquee. The New York takeover in February marks the first time the band will appear at Roseland and Terminal 5, beginning on February 10, 2012. Full list of dates below.

Ticket presale is set for Tuesday, January 31 at 10:00 a.m. ET for the New York run, public on-sale is Wednesday, February 1. Chicago, Silver Spring and Atlantic City presale is Wednesday, February 1 at 10:00 a.m. EST, with public on-sale Friday, February 3. Tickets and VIP packages for all six dates will be available at GunsNRoses.com.

In addition to sole original member Axl Rose, the current lineup of GUNS N' ROSES includes guitarists Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal, Richard Fortus and DJ Ashba, bassist Tommy Stinson, keyboardists Dizzy Reed and Chris Pitman and drummer Frank Ferrer.

"Chinese Democracy", the 2008 album released by the current edition of GUNS N' ROSES after a 15-year wait, was officially certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on February 3, 2009 for shipments in the United States in excess of one million copies. The long-in-the-making, 14-song CD finally arrived 17 years after the last full-length collections of original GUNS material, "Use Your Illusion I" and "II", were released, and nine years after the non-album track "Oh My God" surfaced on the soundtrack of the movie "End Of Days".

I saw NIN during their farewell tour at Webster Hall.  I absolutely loved that show and I stood in front of Robin all night.  I kept thinking to myself "I cannot imagine what it was like when GNR played here in 1988".  The fact that its literally within quick walking distance of my place makes me so excited.

im going to take a crack at the Webster hall show, doubt Im going to be able to get in, but I'm keeping positive thoughts going here...

you'll be fine.  There is a 2-ticket limit for each show and GNR aren't exactly Bruce Springsteen.  I doubt the scalpers will be clawing to eat up all of these like The Boss. 

At least these are going on sale on a Tuesday.  I sat in the queue for 45 minutes for Roger Waters on Friday and got 3 errors before I could get tix.  The scalpers were crashing the site between Roger Waters and the Boss.

I don't know, Webster Hall is pretty small..I remember getting locked out of the Hammerstein Shows and having to pay a ticket broker to get in.  The 2 ticket limit is good though, fingers crossed.

I would have gone to one of the three concerts if I didn't go to the Izod concert this past November.  I think now that I have a mortgage and bills to pay, I will probably pass. It's different when you are in your teens-20s and mid 30s. I may still consider Roseland depending on price and if there is seating.  The other two is standing and my feet would kill me.

I honestly never thought I'd see GN'R do club shows like this, even though it is something often talked about. It's hard to comprehend, considering Guns can fill stadiums in Europe, South America and Europe. I think this is an answer to the US fan base being more "casual" rather than hardcore, like the rest of the world.

Guns N' Roses need to be applauded for listening to the hardcore fanbase, because it was us who initially dreamed of GN'R doing club shows. So the truely dedicated fans could experience an intimate show, and at the same time cutting out all of the negative aspects of the general US music "fan".  :)

interesting thing to note.  The Chicago show is only offering will call and MAILED tickets (no ticket fast).  

I called up Ticketmaster to ask them if they had any information on the NYC shows as they are coming up in less than two weeks.  There was nothing to report yet.  I think its likely that at the very least Roseland could be a will call only show.  I will be curious to see what happens.

These venues are actually smaller then The Joint in Vegas... NICE!!! Gonna try for all 3 if it lets me get thru... Altho I remember I was worry about the first Vegas Date and that took a while to sell out. It is NYC tho... Im kinda hoping a New England Date pops up, like PROVIDENCE, RI!!!!! Doubt it....

Quick question:
Anyone know what the smoking policy is at the Roseland?  I think NYC has a blanket no smoking type law...but my wife is considering coming with...but she couldn't do it if there's smoking allowed.  She's allergic.

The policy at Roseland is no smoking.

The reality at Roseland is smoking.

Roseland sells through livenation (which, obviously is owned by TM)....I've had varying degrees of success trying to get info out of TM on livenation shows (for, for example, the Comcast in Hartford).

I'd suspect those shows to be preloaded relatively soon.

There is no smoking anywhere indoors in NYC bars and venues.  That isn't to say people won't try and get away with it but the whole place won't be puffing away.  I smoke but respect "no smoking" rules but can't say everyone does.  It really depends on the level of security and what exactly they would toss you out for.

I'm pretty sure NY only allows smoking in your home, under a blanket, with the lights off.

definitely just pockets of smoke in my experience going there.  I'm not allergic to cigarette smoke, but the slight smell or sight of it drives me insane.  I don't remember it ever being too bad at Roseland.  Security will make you put it out if they see you, so its a deterrent.  

Just don't get too close to D.J and you should be fine.. :hihi:

That's "doable" for us.  We've been to, for example, the CT casinos and walking through the smoking areas don't bug her much.  If she sits down in one, and someone lights up next to her....her sinuses close up, her eyes start tearing.....and it's not a pretty sight. :)

Make sure to specify: "FLAME RESISTANT/RETARDANT blanket".

If that's the case, you'll be fine. Perhaps get a spot closer to the left or right than the center - security there will hit their flashlights on smokers nearest them and have them put it out, but won't wade out into the floor just for smokers.

We'd be on the edges, anyway.  Too old to try to wade into those crowds, now.  I've had my days of seeing Axl and the boys (granted, different boys) up close and personal.  I'm happy to mellow a bit further back from the action.

AC has a price range of 85 to 140. I assume 85 is balcony, 140 is ga. that make sense?

negative.... shows at the HOB in AC always have more expensive tickets in the balcony where it is reserved seating.  That is from past experience.

When I went there last time a little over a year ago, I remember the balcony was the VIP section.  I don't know if there was a bar up there, but I would guess there was.  The balcony actually reaches pretty close to the stage from what I remember, and the floor was so crowded that it was a pretty good deal to have a seat the whole time and to just chill out until the main act came on. 

now you have me torn between what id prefer.

i was pretty far back at camden in november and i think it really detracted from my enjoyment of the show, since i was pretty close to the stage at hammerstein and MSG.  the chance of working my way to the front in ga seems like it might make up for it, but if its unbearably crowded, i could see how having a seat would be cool.

i contacted a friend of mine who worked at the house of blues and he said the same, that the higher price is probably the vip section.

Honestly, I would say go GA.  If you are alright with being on your feet all night you will probably be able to work your way real close to the stage once the show gets started.  The show I went to was for my fiance on New Years Eve a couple of years ago when Maroon 5 was playing there.  They are a pretty big band too, and although the floor was crowded I could have worked my way up if I really cared to haha.

I don't see how this has anywhere near the demand that the 2006 Hammerstein shows had. Those shows had an insane amount of demand because they were the first warm up shows and noone had seen GNR perform before that in the U.S in god knows how long.

 Now its 2012 and they have toured a bit. Plus these tickets are already near $100 face value. I don't think scalpers and jumping all over these

Same for me. I never thought I would see them, and now Atlantic City will be my 5th show.  ;D

I'm very interested to see how these club shows are organised, and ultimately performed. I mean, will there be video screens, pyros, and will there be an intro where the lights go out and The General is played?. Is the setlist for these club shows going to be different compared to a standard arena show, even going as far to say maybe 80% of the set may be different songs?.

How will the stage be set up for everyone to play and perform?.....it's going to be interesting to watch as the last time GN'R performed in venues as small as these, it was for celebs or people "in the know" with alot of money. How will a club show be approached for GN'R hardcore fans who want to rock with their favourite band?.

One things for sure, GN'R at the Ritz will be s night to remember for all those who go.  ;D

That is what it looks like at the moment. There has been no official word yet about presale for the general public. I tired to get the app but I do not have an ipone and I don't own a Citi Card so people like me may be fucked. Time will tell, maybe they will have a regular presale as well.

There definitely seems to be a lot of conflicting/confusing information out there regarding pre-sales for the theatre dates.  Hopefully the band will clarify soon!  I'm hoping to be able to see at least one of the NY shows.  My brother took me to Hartford in November for my 30th birthday and it was one of the top 3 concerts I've ever seen!  Can't wait to see them again...and I'd love to return the favor and take my brother for his February birthday!

I don't give a damn about all of those fancy pyros and what not, I just want a plain old fashion stage and hear some real Rock N' Roll.

This looks great. I am thinking of attending the Silver Springs show. Takes a lot to make it happen (airfare, hotel, time off from work) but this would be a blast. I hope they do this on the West Coast too. The missed Portland last tour and we have some great small venues that they could set on fire!!!

What was the cost of the VIP during the last tour? Did all of them members go to the meet and greet? I'm definitely doing that for the Silver Spring Show, then going to try to get reserved balcony for the AC Show !!

For those going to the show, have fun! It's too much money for me. With my disability, I can't really stand in one spot for too long. I have to keep moving otherwise I can't walk the next day. That happened to me the next day after I saw GNR at Hammerstein Ballroom. For a smaller venue, Beacon Theatre would be ideal for me since at least I can take a break from standing.

In a moment of madness, I pulled the trigger on a Gold VIP ticket for Webster.  Silver was gone and 15 min early entry had me sold.  I bought it at 10.53am, after seeing it sold out earlier and then reading on here that they are showing available again.

I want to say that the Hammerstein shows in '06(wait really those were SIX years ago holy crap) were like $75.  I *JUST* found out about the NYC shows and I am dying to go to Roseland & Webster Hall but I can't swing over $200 in tickets right now.

Roseland are $96 after TM fees.

Webster hall are around $125 (I THINK after TM fees).

Roseland seats about 3200 (+ a couple hundred more if they open up the balcony).

Hammerstein seats about 3900, assuming they open up all the balconies.

Floor at Roseland might be a tiny bit bigger...but the stage is USUALLY lower to the ground, too (we'll see what GnR's set up is).

I'd say it's even more intimate than Hammerstein, but the facilities aren't as nice.

I didn't even see it as an option...just took best available (which put me on the floor).

There's no seating up there, FYI.  At least, there wasn't last time I was there (which, admittedly, was awhile back).

Indeed - tough may not have been the best choice of words.  Annoying, more like.  NYC bars on Friday night are crazy enough but in Times Square...oy.  A little off the beaten path will probably be easiest for a group.

I just wanted to clarify given there are probably a bunch of out of towners heading to the show...who might not know the city real well.  And people sometimes take "tough" when referencing NYC to mean "I'm liable to get mugged".

As long as they don't go traipsing down to Central park and start wandering.....they'll be fine.

Its not bad, trust me, done it before.  Right now you can get a 3 1/2 star hotel in 'Central Midtown' as they describe it for 105.  Its got 75% favorable reviews.  How bad can it be for 1 night?  Its not like they're putting you up in the ghetto!

@pilferk, I don't think you can pre-purchase.  If you're in the city before 5, I think you should be ok finding space.

A few times I have parked uptown in residential neighborhoods and used the subway but I don't advise this if you are not familiar with the system.  It isn't the easiest to navigate!

Somehow, you will end up right in front of me because I am 5 ft 2 and that is always my luck.  I don't normally do GA but this is a special occasion!   I was pressed against the front of the stage for the 2 Vegas shows in 2006 so I think I will be ok off to the side somewhere for this one.  I was in a bad car accident about a year ago and getting jostled and pushed just isn't my thing anymore or I will wind up in my 37632732th round of PT and my doc will be very unhappy with me! :hihi:

If anyone has ever used the Hotel Tonight app on their iphone, it works wonders for NYC....you can't book a room till the day of, but usually in the winter you can get a room on it for about 80-140 bucks a night which for NYC is good.  Also you get a 25 dollar credit the first time you use it and also another 25 for anyone you recommend.  Through the winter the rates are super cheap and you usually can get a really nice hotel for sometimes like 1/4 of the real price.  I highly recommend it though.

What is different on the HOB site? Well, no VIP is listed on HOB, tix for GA are $130 compared to the $79 for the NY shows, so expect VIP @ The HOB to be $350, and thats what my friend said they would be, and he knows people at the chicago HOB, but nothing is set in stone, we will know in a few hours.  Fuck i was up ata 5am thinking about this shit UGH

yeah I knew Webster would be a tough get.  went for that one first.  you really have to know the ticketmaster system when it comes to hard to get shows like this one.

wow thats crazy, i guess a few people must have released them, because at one point  a few seconds after 12 nothing was coming up, luck of the draw I guess.  I only tried twice and got blanked both times, though. I already got mine yesterday so I wasn't emotionally invested in it.

Terminal 5 honestly isn't that bad. It's similar to a rectangle I would say. Just get tickets for that you will be fine! : ok:

Absolutely its Guns N Roses, so regardless of where they play it is worth it.

I will say that Terminal 5 is the worst venue I have ever been to...it really is that bad.  There is not one redeeming quality about the place other than it is in NYC so it's convenient.

I saw slash in Terminal 5 when he was promoting his solo CD with Miles Kennedy, I personally like it, they got GA balconys so if you don't want to be on the floor and its a good small venue. Lets just hope its a nice day out so were not waiting outside in the freezing cold.

Not sure if it's changed...but there were pairs up this AM on stub hub for around $110 a ticket.  That's only about $15 over TM....which is NOT bad.

With TM, that's not uncommon.  Happened to me with the Hammerstein shows.  Blanked on first pull...tried 2 more times and on the 3rd try pulled a pair.

Lots of folks time out either due to ineptitude, confusion, or sticker shock.

Pairs (or more) were gone REALLY fast after 12:00...I pulled a pair at 12:00 but at 12:01, I had to go to monitoring for singles (and I have no idea why, for a GA show, with floor standing room drops to singles at some point..system shouldn't force that until there is, literally, one ticket left).

Could pull singles, on and off, right up until 12:04 and change.  Once 12:05 hit...nothing.

I take it back...I have been to T5...when it was Club Exit (before the DEA shut it down).

I can't believe they turned that place into a venue.......

 I was able to get a bit of a loan from my dad, to get tix, as I wont physically have the funds till next week. I was able to get in the page for the Ritz, after 3-4 mins, went thru the whole order process, and during finalizing something bugged, and it was unable to complete, pissed me off!. I tried some more then gave up ws lucky enough to get for terminal 5 though. IF anyone lucky enough to score RItz, and has an extra, I will def buy it!  :beer:

Ive been there 3 times.  I was in the basement for the "Chinese Democracy" release party and another time to see a punk band.  I was upstairs once to see Liam Gallagher's new band  Beady Eye, it is really small.  I can't wait to see what they do that night.  It felt smaller than it looks in the picture, as most places do.

As I mentioned previously, I saw NIN there on their Wave Goodbye tour.  It was a capacity crowd much like how this will be.  Its going to be TIGHT in there with not much room to move around (until the show starts of course).  Plus it does get hotter than hell.  The NIN show was in August (I think) so naturally it is hotter in the summer, but it was well over 100 degrees in there and I sweat so much that my shirt was stuck to me by the end.  I am planning on wearing shorts and a light jacket to the show. 

I've been there a bunch of times (I was also there for the CD listening party!!)....the main stage area reminds me a LOT of an small Art Deco movie house.  Not one of those huge palatial theaters, but one of those tiny little "artsy" places....or an old fashioned dance hall (which, really, is what it was/is).

You could be ALL the way in the back of the place, and you'd feel closer than you would in the 5th row of most arenas.  It's small, intimate, interesting....AWESOME.  You can practically feel the history bleeding through the walls in the place.

When the main stage area gets rowdy.....it fells like nothing else I've ever experienced before.  I'm sure some of that is that you're up on the 2nd floor....but some of it is just the acoustics and the way the building "breathes" (for lack of a better term).

Those of you going to the Ritz/Webster Hall are in for a treat....that's for sure.

It's a good point:

Both Roseland AND Webster Hall get pretty warm. Roseland offers a little more breathing room, though (if you can get to the back).  I don't know if I'd go with shorts...but certainly a light jacket (which you could take off and tie around yourself) and T-shirt.  You'll still be sweat soaked by the end of the night...but you won't actually roast.

I've seen folks, in both places, hit the ground (granted, it was summer time in both cases) because of the heat......

Just wait until the show starts and people start jumping.  You will feel the floor moving beneath you literally.  Its somewhat scary until you get used to it.  

I cannot tell everyone how excited I am about the Webster show.  I live a 15 minute walk away.  Pregame at the apartment like I did for NIN and walk down to the show.

Well, I work inside the Chelsea Market which is across the street from the Hiro Ballroom.  I will walk over there and ask them straight up. 

Also, that is right near the new Dream Hotel which is an AMAZING new hotel.  I wonder if that is where the band will be staying.  I see models, athletes and celebs walking in and out of there all the time.

So what's the scoop for the Silver Spring MD show? How do you get a pre-sale password? Do I have to sign up on GNR's website mailing list to get the pre-sale code? Also, did anyone didn't use the Live Nation app, but instead using their personal computer and were successful of getting tickets? I'm just freaking out abit and I wanna be prepare for getting these tickets tomorrow morning.

They'll be totally on fire, at this point!  They have been building up a nice momentum lately.

I have questions about Terminal 5 if anyone has answers.  The Will Call window, is that located outside of the venue or inside?  And what is it like inside?  Any information at all would be appreciated.

There's a lot of mixed reviews of Terminal 5 on Google. Mostly negative. One of the things people complained about the most was the view. There's a lot of "dead spots". So I would recommend you coming really early to get to the front, otherwise it seems it's easy to end up standing in one of many spots where there's a limited view.

I got my tickets to The Ritz  : ok:. Didn't get them through Ticketmaster though, tried my best :(. Had to buy them from StubHub, which went smooth, so no worries.  : ok:

Hmmm I think the will call is directly inside the venue, but I do not remember 100% on that. 

Inside the place is huge.  It really is big.  There is the floor level, then a second level then even a third level.  The rumors about the dead spots and limited view are true, so those going with a short significant other be prepared to be frustrated when tall people step in front of you.  I am flying to Terminal 5 without the gf so I can move around and get a good view even though I am tall myself. 

It certainly does - I know from experience lol.

Likely not.... whatever the listing on Ticketmaster is will be the listing you see on your ticket.  Ticketmaster says "Webster Hall".

No, there was a glitch after he had it in the cart.  TM is famous for that. 

I have never experienced that and I have bought.... wow, tickets for hundreds of shows now that I think about it.

Can you give a more detailed description of the glitch?  I am curious. 

I can't speak personally on HIS experience but I have experienced numerous glitches when trying to get tix for in demand shows on TM.  It just happened to me last week with Roger Waters.  Arbitrarily, while I was in the queue, the whole site crashed out and I just got an error code on my screen and an "apology."  I went in again and it happened again after 10 minutes in the queue.  3rd time and 45 minutes later, I was finally able to get tix.  I guess in his case by the time he went back in they were gone.

The tix on Stub Hub are not TOO bad.  That is the only reason I am considering it, because this is a once in a lifetime show.

Very interesting... I was a victim of the Springsteen scalpers last week, but I have never gotten an error message before.  With Springsteen the screen was telling me 4-minute wait, then it jumped back up to 15 mins, then down to 6 mins, then back up to 9 mins.... it was very strange, but I never got an error message.  That would kill me if I saw that.

All that's old is new again. Axl Rose and his revamped Guns N' Roses will revisit their beloved New York when they launch their Northeast tour in February.

In 2011, the band completed a sold-out international tour and will kick off 2012 with a series of intimate shows in the States, starting with New York. Beginning February 10, they will perform a three-show series in the city, the cornerstone of which will be at the club Webster Hall, which was originally called the Ritz. This is where GN'R played one of their most famous concerts, "Live at the Ritz," in 1998*. For their return, the venue will revert to its original name, complete with new signage and marquee, and fans can wax nostalgic about the days when Guns were the biggest band on the planet.

Additional cities include Chicago; Silver Spring, Maryland; and Atlantic City, New Jersey. No word yet if more dates will be announced.

Agreed.  Although the VIP tix purchased through gunsnroses.com might say the Ritz.  I can confirm that they were different looking than the Ticketmaster tix for the Vegas shows.

Keep trying!  They keep going away then coming back.  Even yesterday that is how I got my (solo) ticket to the Ritz.  I just kept trying.  It was maddening, but I finally got my ticket.  I did the Gold VIP package for Terminal 5.  I didn't have an interest in Roseland because I hate going anywhere Friday nights and I'm not crazy about Roseland.  But I am so cool with the two shows I am going to (and seeing them last November.)

I will keep trying - I just hate having to type those stupid Captcha things every time.

@jbat81 I put in my payment info, hit continued, and it was processing, and kept processing, then the screen came back and said "sorry couldn't process". It didnt give me an option to try a differnt payment, and then I never was able to get to the buy tix page again. Silver VIP - VIP laminate (though that's all it is - will not get you backstage or to aftershow, etc. At least I can tell you the Vegas one didn't) and a limited edition lithograph (mailed at a later time).

You'd be surprised....especially if it's a "hot" show and we end up with a lot of "casual" fans who decide to make the show a social event.

Some of those folks have more money than sense....especially if it turns out to be the hang out show for the socialites, those around for fashion week, or the financial dudes.  Maybe unlikely...but not out of the questions (especially the Ritz show).

Yup, that's NYC for ya.  Tickets for Hugh Jackman's 1 man show on Broadway were listed - and selling!!! - for $1000+ through brokers.

For now I am screwed unless I can come up with another $100.  I really need 2 GA tix for Silver Spring Maryland and only have around $200.  Started calling Ticketmaster from 9:55am till just now(10:40am)using 2 phones while reloading the ticket page and filling out captcha over and over again.  After 100 calls and 100 reloads I am out of luck for now.  I still want the tix so I don't see how anyone was able to get them unless they paid more or bought them all at the pre-sale?  I know it's once in a lifetime so I tried!  Anyone can help me out then let me know and I'll get back to you later tonight.  My friend and I really want to be there!!

Yeah it's crazy!!  Each time I called TM the recording first actually asked me if I wanted Tix for GUNS N' ROSES in AC or tix for KENNY ROGERS.  My friend can't make it to AC and Silver Spring works out perfect if we can get the tix.  Good luck everyone!!

I had the same issue trying to get a ticket for Silver Spring. So I had to go with the VIP.

Didn't have any problem getting 2 tix to the Silver Spring, Md. show. I got on Livenations site right at 10 AM and had my tix ordered within a couple of minutes. Can't wait to see GNR again in such a small venue!

I'm driving in from Boston and I need alittle help.  Any reccomondations on where I can park my car for the day for a reasonable price that isn't too far from the club.  I don;t mind if I have to take a taxi from where I park, but it would be nice to know in advance where to park and that there will be availability.

There is usually free street parking on sundays in nyc and the T5 show is a sunday but i have never been in that area of the city before so im  not sure otherwise im sure there is a lot somwhere nearby but the prices for nyc lots suck

I did some research (wikipedia) and found that Manitoba is an electronica artist named Daniel Victor Snaith who is a composer, musician and recording artist and goes under stage names Caribou, Manitoba and Daphni. "Manitoba" hasn't released anything since 2003, but "Caribou has released stuff recently, so it's weird that "Manitoba" would be opening for GNR. Any thoughts on this?

Manitoba may also refer to Dick Manitoba (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Manitoba) - saw him perform in September at the Slash Benefit show in NYC.

That band opening for Terminal looks like another scream yelling band that sucks like at the izod show. If anyone went to the izod show in middle of GA me and my friends were abusing that band yelling at them to get off stage. I was also the one offering everyone gum, and when Ron heard me he asked if it would fuck him up. Anyway if the band sucks at Terminal 5 they will be in for a long set.

I'll agree about AA, but they are very popular right now.  Last summer Baz and AA hinted about doing a song with Axl, i kind of hope not unless it is a cover of a song that I like or any song really, anything would work right about now.  Chelsea Smiles are good, maybe Axl will come out and sing "Dead Jail or Rock N Roll".  At small shows anything can happen!
