"5 years on non stop touring" and now "taking a break"??I know he made some vague positive comments after that but doesn't come across as full steam ahead really. not really sure how Guns have been non stop touring either to be honest. I'd say spasmodic bursts is more apt.

Since December of 2009...which is just over 3.5 years ago...they've done 210 shows! That is A LOT of shows in 3.5 years.

Looks like normal touring schedule to me. The only longer break was in 2011.

You might not know this but before tours bands usually have rehearsals. So they might have already spent weeks away from home before you can even see a show!

Shoot, you could go back to 2006 and 2007, the only year there was no activity was 2008, but we got CD that year

Yeah, I was actually going to say the same thing you just did. It might appear a little sporadic, but it was pretty consistent (except for 2008 and I certainly won't complaint about that).

Cool, great to hear that the band is focusing on getting a new album out.

I just got around to listen to this interview finally. Why do I have a feeling that DJ has said similar stuff quite a few times before. And we've got like nothing. Are there even proper rumours about a new album.

What do you consider a proper rumour? I mean by definition, a rumour isn't substaniated fact, so... yes, there are lots of rumours, but are they proper? Who knows.

I don't get that impression. It's not like they (or several of them) are in the studio together.

Same here. We're only going to hear a similar interview in, say, six months or so.

When The Eagles recorded "Long Road Out of Eden", they went in the studio here and there over a decade, and eventually an album came out. They were always touring or doing side projects, as well as the courtroom stuff with Don Felder that created red tape.

I think their followup to "Chinese Democracy" is kind of the same thing - piecemeal, some finished songs, but nothing cohesive to it yet and haven't "hunkered down" to work on it.

That's just the thing I don't get about this band. They can mobilise the band and a huge crew to tour the world, but a few weeks or months camping out to write some songs or finish an album seems an impossibility.

Maybe that model just wouldn't work for them, too many people with too many ideas to be a cohesive unit. Perhaps they have too many personal comittments to make that happen. If they did get together for a few months and nothing came out of it, what then?

I have no clue how these things work but i think we'll be a while waiting for some new output. Will be interesting to see if more tours or live appearances come first.
