If nothing proshot is either released or streamed from the coming gigs, I won't just eat my hat, I'll eat both Axl and Slash's entire hat collections. No salt.

I'm pretty sure Coachella will stream the show live.

They have streamed it live the last few years, better not hold out this time!

Just a FYI: Even if it's streamed, doesn't mean they stream all the acts.
As far as I know, last year, AC/DC's sets weren't streamed.

This is pretty normal for many festivals that are streamed online. Acts can choose not to take part in it.

Yeah, Drake did that as well. I am totally missing any logical reason why any big name acts (especially ac/dc) would choose to not stream a huge show like this.

Maybe they are uncomfortable with people hearing the soundboard recording's? Comaaaaan.

Some artists like to have control of what's put out there for their fans I guess.

Do you know how it worked for RIR?  Did they have a say whether their show was streamed?

I have no idea.

All I know that as a fan of many bands, sometimes festivals stream stuff and then the band I wanted to watch isn't streamed... It happens.

Thankfully GNR has been open to streaming/filming their shows in the past years.

I think chances are good they will allow their show to be streamed live. Unless of course, they plan on releasing the show on their own later.

Even if they don't stream it i would be shocked if guns n roses themselves wouldn't be recording this for eventual dvd release.

Yeah stream it for a fee, which I'd gladly pay...

Or release it as a badass DVD with reunion interviews etc... would be great.

I'd buy that instantly.

RIR 2011 and 2006,sound quality was awful.
Wasn't equal to the band's performance.Given that, all of us would still sit and watch even in mono sound and b&w picture.

I heard that RIR has 100% of the rights of the show and can do whatever they want, and that includes streaming every band (in their entirely or not)

I believe that may be correct in the case of RIR. Think the South American network that airs it puts up a lot of the cash so broadcast rights will be one of the stipulations in the performer's contract. Don't think that's the case for Coachella though, and even if it is Guns are in a pretty unique situation with these shows where they have the upperhand and if they really wanted to specify 'no broadcast/streaming' I'm sure they could.

It's two shows so that would certainly lend itself to a DVD. Keep the wardrobes consistent and pick the best performances over the two nights. Or perhaps we're in for some sort of simulcast in movie theatres? I have a hunch that the teaser trailer thing was shown in cinemas rather than elsewhere for a reason.

I would like this to be in a movie theater. Sound quality would be great!

I wonder if the movie theater GNR promo that was also on the GNR website refers to a movie theater stream of the Coachella gig?

RIR 2011 wasn't that bad as 2006 where we missed almost all the guitar tracks. And remember: in 2006 we had Inland Invasion, fantastic performance but in super low resolution and mono sound. :hihi:

Linkin park did something similar to this a couple years back

If the concert is a PPv or closed circuit.  This would be a cool option. I have seen lots of ppvs in theatres

Assuming GNR went on at midnight, people aren't going to go to a theater at 3AM on the east coast.

GNR have obviously been open to streaming their shows in the past, hopefully that holds true for this one.  The second they hit the stage the internet will be flooding with shaky cell phone footage that sounds like shit, it would be cool to actually have a source that looks and sounds good.

Here people would like to think of course they will it's GNR :peace:

But in reality, of course, they wouldn't. Then on the other hand it'd probably be possible to fill in some small venues with correct pricing and marketing. People would simply drink and smoke through the night waiting for the gig to start. In many ways 3am is actually prime time. Some could even see their girlfriends in the evening and there would still be plenty of time to party.

Sky Box Office like they do with the boxing and WWE stuff would be ace.

Exactly.

Also, this is a huge comeback with as much (if not more) impact than in 2001. Imagine if we didn't get the RIR3 broadcast.. That would suck.

Just on that note: Many, many, MANY states do not allow the sale and service of booze, wine, or beer after 2 AM.

And 3 AM, East Coast time, Sunday morning, would NOT be "prime time" to start a gig. Not for most folks...even if you were going to "party" the night away.  Because the gig wouldn't end much before 5 AM ish.  People might make it work, but lets not pretend it would be ideal.

Having said that, AC/DC took the stage last year around 10:35.   The headliners typically hit the stage between 10:00 and 10:40.  I'd expect GnR to hit somewhere in that time frame.

They should PPV every show of the stadium tour. Not sure how much it costs to produce a PPV but if its reasonable they should do some if not all of the stadium shows.

Rake it in anyway you can.

Hoping that DirectTV, UTA, the event promoters, band, etc. can all come to terms to allow us to see the Vegas and/or Coachella show(s) on livestream or PPV. Monumental moment in rock history! What do you think?

What do you think?

Really, there isn't anything to think about. They'll get their income anyway and we've all seen Slash in the past.

How about just giving us all a fair shot at seeing this new history. What's a fair price, $29.95? Hundreds of thousands of subscriptions would go within hours.

It would make no sense for the Vegas shows to not be on PPV. The earlier they advertise this the more $chkadole they could take in.
I'd pay now and would pay a good amount

That's not a fair price for a streaming IMO. I wouldn't pay if it wasn't GNR and a special gig.

Or put it up on Apple Music the way Taylor Swift did with her latest tour? Super good quality, HD and everything. yeah, requires a $10 month apple music subscription, but what the heck, I'd pay for it for a couple of months until I get tired of watching the thing.

Hm, I wonder if this can be suggested somehow to management? That would bring some iTunes attention to GNR and get them some advertising on iTunes.

@Jarmo, maybe you can help with suggesting this?
