Get Julian the hell out of here. I have a small complaint about your whoee thing here tho, are Anthony keidis and BJ Armstong really 21st century? I mean Cornell and Weiland I understand even tho they started out in the 90's were not in their current groups until this century but green day I think belong in the 90's thread and the chili peppers have been around like 20 years so that kind of puts them in the 80's. But then again u could make a strong case as to when they hit, which would be around 92 so I would actually put them in the 90's. And where do you plan on putting Axl? I mean technically he still has a band (I know what you're thinking, I did say it was a technicality tho) But he came out in the 80's.

I know this stuff could be largely attributed to how scarce the quality front men are in the 21st century. I really think tho you should lump the frontmen in when the bands really took off for the first time. Greenday and RHCP would both fall under 90's. For example Axl, while still having alot of success in the early 90's, would fall under 80's. steven tyler would be a tough egg because would u label him by the success of the 70's or when they became way bigger with their rebirth in the 80's?

I hope I am right in assuming this is part of a thread I read a little while back to go thru a couple decades and determine the best frontman of all time or else I am seriously wasting anyones time who is reading this.
Just hoping to figure out the correct way to get this done because it would be interesting to see who came away with the title.

Yes, this is the thread you read to determine the best frontman of all time. We are currently voting for this decade ( 21st century)

About your complain, I totally understand what you are saying. However, the original list ( 14 frontmen) was made by the HTGTH members who decided who deserved to be considered for the " Best 21st Century frontman". The ones who received more votes, made the cut. Simple as that.

I personally would have not considered Cuomo, Kedies, Manson, Armstrong, Ferrel for this decade, but others did. And majority wins.

If you want to see the original thread, here's the link to it:

The Strokes rock!  I don't see why people are so down on Julian.  He's a great songwriter and he's got a distinctive presence on stage of just not giving a fuck.  I saw The Strokes live, and he was so cool.  He sang the songs great, but in a way that was like he wanted to make you uncomfortable...leaning on the microphone and going right into the crowd with a lethargic gaze.  Then he would go and have a cigarette during the guitar solos.  And again, the songs, pepole, the songs.  I guess he won't make it past this round, but in my mind, he's the best frontman the 2000s have yet produced, except for Justin Hawkins (and I mean groups that came to prominence in this decade).

Anyway, my vote goes to who it always goes to.  Get Maynard James Keenan outta here.  Lame.

Again - the mediocre Julian...

leaning on the microphone and going right into the crowd with a lethargic gaze.  Then he would go and have a cigarette during the guitar solos.

So he wants to act bored because it looks "cooler" than acting enthusiastic.   But he should take lessons from Iggy Pop on how to look cool and be excited at the same time.

I'd just love it if Julian cut himself up with glass shards, a la Iggy.  Show me you care, Julian.  Show it with blood.

justin hawkins

i nominated Jon bon jovi although he didnt make the list, cause even though these peoples' hey day might have been a different decade, in some regards they are more revered and popular today than before.

Bon jovi for instance sells more tickets now than they did at anytime else in their career same with A. Kieids.
