Finland beat the Czechs 4-0

Sweden beat the Czechs 4-3

My prognosis: Finland will beat Sweden 6-0  ;D

Whee, Finland tied 4-4 with Sweden - though we definitely deserved to win.. this means Sweden will play against the Czechs and we'll play against Germany  :hihi:

Looks like we're in the top-4!

Yeah, the American Senior Tour got to play somehow. The only games I'm deeming "must see" are the ones involving Canada, because you can't miss Mario. And it's not just because I'm from Pittsburgh, I swear...

Look im Canuck, and trust me when i say this. Marios Good, bet hes an old man! Lmao. Nah i bet well win this whole damn thing. lookit our Roster. WE can even make Canada B and we'll still prolly win gold AND silver.

Yeah, but he's not as old as he seems, since he missed so many games with injuries. With how he's played since his return, usually I'd go along with your assessment...but if you caught that game on ESPN against the Sharks two years ago, you'd realize that he hasn't lost it. I think all he finished with was an assist, and of course the Sharks ended up winning 6-2, but there was a series of shifts when he was just UNTOUCHABLE. Even the ESPN guys, who usually talk shit about him, were raving. I agree with you about Canada, what an amazing bunch, but then again I never would've imagined the Czechs, of all teams, even though I liked Hasek, to win the gold in 2002. You can't overlook anybody.

You wish. Once you run into Finland or Sweden you'll have your asses handed to you.

Don't worry...the only reason the US won in 1996 was Richter. It'll be a long time before they win another tournament (maybe if I'm playing for them).

How much you wanna bet that it's gonna be the States and Canada in the final?

And it's about time Lemieux, Sakic, and Iginla started scoring............. >:(

I say either Canada and the States or Canada and Findland

It'll be a tough game tonight. We will most definately get the best out of Kipper, and our defence has to be able to play hard. I think our best weapon might be that we actually do have 4 lines that are capable of scoring goals. On paper the US team might underestimate a few of those lines. Even though Finland is the "home"team, the crowd support will most definately be on the US's side, so that's one factor. One thing that I though before the tournamet would come in question was that the US team is really old, but as it turns out they're really fast, and play really hard so our defence will have its work cut out for them.

We'll see.. Hope to se us in the finals, but if not, I really wouldn't blame anyone.

I stand corrected.........Canada & Finland..........

The only bad thing (I WANTED the States to lose...) is that the final will be a little boring, as Finland plays a very tight game with the left wing lock...........

And I hope Marty is healthy for the game tonight.......... : ok:

I know you're not very keen on seeing us beat your beloved Canada, but you could at least give us that much respect as to type our nation's name correctly...

Where is the game played btw??

It will be one hell of a game.. Won't be pretty though. Finland will play hard. Canada most definately have the skill on their side, and we'll have to have everything going for us if we plan on winning on tuesday (?) night. Not saying that we don't have skill. Just saying that on paper our team is not as convincing as yours.

One other thing that'll make the game interesting is the fact that Finland has already gotten what they wanted from this tournament, and beaten USA in the Semis. So we'll see how they can put that game behind and focus only on the upcoming final.

So it's the skill of Canada vs. heart of Finland...

So it's the skill of Canada vs. heart of Finland...

The implication there is that Canada has no heart. Care to rephrase?

i think they are all being greedy... they owe it to the kids who wake up at 6AM and drag themselves in the -40????C weather to the arena and get on that ice and look up to the NHL players... they owe it to the places that had hockey for them when they were kids to play and show the spirit of hockey! oh it makes me so angry!!!!

I agree, SSS.  They are all being greedy, but then again, aren't all the professional athletes greedy?  :-\

It sure has increased the attendance at the college and AHL hockey games though!   As a matter of fact, that's where my son is tonight.

Also some of the pros who want to play hockey still are playing in a couple of weeks near me for charity.  They have offered to meet the kids etc... : ok:
