Selling better than Iron Maiden tho!

Probably sell out in the week. The crowd's gonna go fucking nuts!!!!

He's in Japan with his band for a 2-day festival. This runs in between the dates he's doing with GN'R.

Although on getlive.co.uk under the 'support act' heading it does say Bach is supporting GN'R too. Mmmm, sure his official site is correct however.

Don't expect anything till 2/3 weeks before gig at earliest. Think these could be souvenir tix.

I will try to be there... if I find a way to come from Zagreb, Croatia to Glasgow :)

Great news!

But you can still get seating tix on ticketmaster (singles only I believe) But this is good to see that they can still attract a big audience. Don't think they've opened up the whole seating area though. Maybe this will come later?

Standing tickets went back on sale today. I got one for my mate and was told that they will start getting sent out (by SECC anyway) 4 weeks before gig. So the end of next week! Excellent!

And yeah, is the thing sold out? I went on the SECC website and it said availability of tickets was still good?!

Was sold out (ticketmaster's allocation has fully gone) but secc still has standinf tix only left. Seating is all gone as far as I'm aware.
Can't wait for the first GN'R Scottish show now!

Post by: Calcy on June 19, 2006, 11:18:02 AM
Looks like it's 'sold out' again, according to ticketmaster and SECCtickets.com. No doubt more tix will go back on sale later.

But hopefully it will actually sell out!

Title: Re: July 21 - Glasgow, UK @ SECC
Post by: mesaboogie on June 19, 2006, 11:58:13 AM
When I bought mine off SEE they were going to post but I said I would collect at venue.? I checked the tracker there and it says "trying to get your tickets sent to the venue".. wording quite scary! surely it should say "sending tickets to venue" ???

Title: Re: July 21 - Glasgow, UK @ SECC
Post by: Calcy on June 21, 2006, 04:59:07 AM
Seems to be a massive 2 tickets left on secctickets.com! Just checked and you can't get three of more, but 1 or 2 is possible. Get 'em while they're hot!

Title: Re: July 21 - Glasgow, UK @ SECC
Post by: andy1981 on June 21, 2006, 05:50:34 AM
seems to be sold out now. Advert in todays (21/6/06) Kerrang! says its sold out

are we having a pre-event meet up somewhere? or are we just joining the Q at lunchtime at the SECC?
no doubt it'll be "rocksteady" event security (don't even get me started) so don't expect any nice security when you get to the front of the Q. The last show i went to at the secc they wern't too bothered about cameras but will take a disposable anyway  : ok:

not looking forward to the opening act/s? but need to be down the front for this one

Title: Re: July 21 - Glasgow, UK @ SECC
Post by: Calcy on June 21, 2006, 05:53:29 AM
I'm flying up Wed night, and am meeting some friends beforehand to catch up as I ain't seen them in about 6 months. SECC isn't really that close to pubs in city centre (well no pubs just round the corner really) so may park the motor at SECC (as they charge you 3.50 all day anyway, not just during shows) and then walk back into town.

Title: Re: July 21 - Glasgow, UK @ SECC
Post by: andy1981 on June 30, 2006, 06:21:57 AM
I got a confirmation e-mail this morning from ticketmaster saying the tickets were being delivered today

nope not looking forward to BFMV i bought their last album last week, and it was ok untill the "singer" started shouting RAAAAAAAAHHHH etc. Thought the band was ok, double kick drums and decent riffs, but the constant shouting gets tiresome. As most support acts get trashed on tours like these, I'm not expecting much

Will be at the secc early, doors open at 7 as far as I know , I need to be near the front. day booked off work. new tour t-shirt arrived yesterday from play.com. Can't wait!!!

Title: Re: July 21 - Glasgow, UK @ SECC

Yeah, ticketmaster even confirmed that I had SMS or something sending the tickets to me. Hopefully get them today or tomorrow. Be a big relief, not a big fan of ticketmaster its fair to say.

EDIT: Got 'em! Woo!!

Same here and I notice we have a 6.30pm show start rather than the usual 7.30pm. They must be trying to ensure they are off the stage for 11pm before the SECC cut the power  ;D

Title: Re: July 21 - Glasgow, UK @ SECC
Post by: Calcy on July 07, 2006, 01:58:05 PM
I heard somewhere it was 11 but I'm sure it's a case of whether the venue has the balls to do so. Let's hope not!

Sure their curfew was extended for Radiohead who played till half past 11, so u never know.

Well if GN'R are on time, it just leaves more time for me to hit Glasgow and get wasted!!! : ok:

When I went to see Motley Crue there was like an after party, I got a flyer in Glasgow City Centre, I wonder if there will be anything planned for GN'R, like a place for fans to go after the gig!

SECC now lists the gig as SOLD OUT. Hell yeah!!

Hope all those touts on ebay end up having to sell their tix for a fiver. Serve em right for taking the tix off real fans!
I'll be in Waxy's prior to the gig I think, where's everyone else going?

That's what I've been wondering. I really hope he does!

I know I may get shot down but if he does it technically means I will have seen the UYI GN'R on the same stage! (VR played Hall 4 last year). Hehe.

I am pro-new GN'R though!

went to the VR show as well, enjoyed it but there were loads of kids there
went in was only 3 rows from the front, the datsons (?) came on and suddenly i was about 10 rows back and I haddent mooved my feet. I've waited years to see this band and want it to be a great gig so no bloody, kicking, pushin or shovein of

8 days to go and I'm pumped, got a warm up for it this weekend.

nothing will keep me from this gig

Title: Re: July 21 - Glasgow, UK @ SECC
Post by: Calcy on July 13, 2006, 09:24:28 AM
Yeah, I got the chilis in London on Sat as a warm-up. Gunners is definitely the gig I'm most pumped for though.

Can't wait to get back home next week to start getting ready for it!

(Hopefully Mr Izzy Stradlin will be there to make for lack of a second support act!)

Ebay is showing so many folk trying to flog their tickets for profit. Sick!
I think there's too many touts so your friends may get one cheap. Alternatively, try www.scarletmist.com where people sell their tix at face value : ok:

3 days, wow!

I have reservations on whether any ordered online now would arrive in time.

Is there any plan for a HTGTH pre or post concert meet up?

well folks tommorrows the big day  Gonna be a long day and a long wait but it'll all be worth it hopefully

stock up on liquids as its gonna be hot, damm hot (nice if your a lady, no good if you're in the jungle!)

by the looks of things the t-shirts are gonna be expensive (around ?20) so raid your piggy bank.

expect some big ques at the SECC and don't expect the security to be nice

So Bullet for my Valentine is the only support act tomorrow?

No sebastion Bach?

Does that mean GN'R will go on earlier and all us crazy motherfucking Scottish Rock Gods are going to get an extra long show?

Man I am so pumped.

Add me to the list too!

What time you reckon they'll come on this time?

Bachs definitley not gonna be there, he's playin the UDO festival in Japan on Saturday and few other dates there and then joining back up with Guns on the 25th in Birmingham.

Will this just mean BFMV will go on later than scheduled?

I don't wanna go that early coz t's ?3 a pint in there and the B***ards probably won't allow us to drink in the hall

I've been able to drink beer in the hall at all concerts I've attended at the SECC so all should be ok. I'm driving so I shall not be drinking.

I'm in no rush to enter the venue as we will have a long long wait.

Cool, sometimes they add that "Over 14s" thing to the gig and they stop alcohol being taken in. That happened at Offspring a couple of years ago as well as Limp Bizkit and they tried to stop some people taking beer in at the Darkness too and AC/DC , idiots.

Hopefully there won't be any beer issues!

towers of london are jerks. bigtime. only my opinion though - I sincerely hope Glasgow rocks to the sky tomorrow night and shows our Guns what amazing people us Scots are and much we love to ROCK.  I am most excited about the updates and Axl comments from this gig than nearly any other.  at last, guns in scotland!  and I cant go  :'(

enjoy people!

not bad, they are better than BFMV but whover it was going to be GnR will wipe the floor with them

some sound clips on the website, think their biggest radio "hit" has been  "how rude she was"

sort of punk/hair metal/heavy rock sound, they certainly look the part but I've never really heard them before

Axl Rose should be ashamed of himself, after leaving people standing there in that god awful heat for two hours there was a massive crush, "both the crowd and the band were fantatic" there were fights all over the place, my younger borther got caught up in the surge when the lights went down and the next thing he remembers is waking up on a stretcher with an oxygen mask over his face.

I hold Axl Rose personally responsible, this would not have happened if there had not been a 2 hour delay and the crowd were p****d off, maybe in future he should give his fans some consideration instead of sitting backstage eating roast lamb and massaging his oversized ego.

This is one life long fan who will never again part with their hard earned cash to see gnr.

I fully expected it, doesn't mean I wasn't annoyed by it. It's very different saying to someone "you should have expected it!" than actually being there.

I am sorry to hear about your younger brother! Things like that should not happen, but... how do you know for sure what happened and who you are to judge Mr. Rose for 'sitting backstage eating roast lamb and massaging his oversized ego'... you have no idea what was going on. only security bla, bla and newspaper bla, bla... maybe that is what happened, maybe it isn't... those people need stories to tell because they have such a boring lifes... you knew it would start after 10. you had a choice... you could go to the concert or you could stay home... your chice was to be there... no one forced you.

I think the Dublin authorities are more strict about curfews...they won't let you buy it off....like in othet countries/cities.

Dude there is always a massive surge at the start of a GN'R show - its Welcome To The Jungle for gods sake. People go mental, people would have gone just as mental if there wasnt a wait before hand last night.
You should have known that and you should not have let your younger brother down there, its a dangerous place wait or no wait.
A couple of my female freinds were there last night and they bought seated tickets. Why?
Because they know that at standing 5 feet tall in a rock concert it is extremely dangerous,  and it is very easy to get swept away, crushed and battered and lost under a sea of bodies.

You should have known, and if you didn't and this was your first ever hard rock concert - learn from it!! Because they are all like that.

GN'R were always going to come on between half 9 and 10 o'clock. It wasnt that much of a delay, fuck sake I never even got there till 9pm, when there is 2 support bands, you know that the main act wont be till late.

Axl was not to blame for your brother getting hurt.

Great concert....a few points. I think the delay in gnr coming on stage till 2205 would have been more acceptable if the 2 hour gap had shown some videos or something rather than just bland tunes with 30 second gaps between every tune. I had no problem with near 150 mins show, I knew it would end late but it did piss me off that I missed so much of the Dublin show as they went on there so damn early...just goes to show you can never please everyone whatever time you start! The 1 negative was the really bad gap in proceedings come up to November Rain where there was just nothing happening, then when the boos started axl saying you can all catch the bus home if you want was very sarcy...then he just faffed around on the piano for about 10 minuntes before starting november rain....it was just pushing it a little as that must have been about a 15-20 mins gap in the middle of the concert between songs. Another thing, why the hell didnt they sing the vocals to 'dont cry' rather than just do the guitar?...a wasted opportunity. Nightrain was yet again the show stealer.

Post by: Axls Locomotive on July 30, 2006, 04:43:50 PM
I dont think it was quite 10 minutes, probably about 3-4 minutes but he always does that before November Rain...and it was only a few that booed and there were cheers when axl came back with the sarcy remark...

i thought it was great that everyone was singing to dont cry tho...

and i didnt notice a gap of 15 minutes between songs

strange how others percieve it differently

are there any more mp3's of the glasgow shows that have turned up? or pics?

I found this drunk legend to sing Don't Cry with  :hihi:

At the end where Axl does that "Uuuhhhhhhhh" part, the drunk guy and me were singing it then he started like poking my adam's apple to get the proper vibrating effect  :hihi:

Def the best crowd you could hope to experience a gig with, me and my mates were talking about the drive back home to Inverness, and this guy and his mates infront turned around and said "Ho! We're fae there too maaan!" It's such a small world sometimes.

Hi listen dude the thing u have got to expect at a G'N'R gig is that Axl will come on whenever he wants and Welcome To The Jungle is going to be the song that gets the crowd jumpin, l mean l was at that gig and l nearly got crushed but it was a good night even though l was shoved and battered. next time u go to a G'N'R gig expect this to happen because it will l mean that was my first G'N'R gig and l did'nt expect to be shoved around but l stood there and took it.

Sorry To hear about your brother.

I just wanted to say that after going to 14 shows, this has got to have been one of the most dangerous and roughest out of the lot. I personally don't care how late the band go on, but the people of Glasgow where going mental. There were fights breaking out in the audience, and bottles being thrown.

I remember a lady next to me telling the steward ''just tell them to come on'' as if he could of done that. Then after another hour passed she told him ''they don't understand glasgow people, if they take any longer, the crowd will riot and start fighting''.

This was the only concert so far that I genuinely thought a riot could break out at any minute. Just as it was getting really bad, the lights dimmed and the intro music started. Needless to say during jungle the crowd was going nuts, about 30 people were carried over the barriers during the first 2 songs, then luckily Axl stopped to tell the crowd to step back. (Thanks Axl)

It was an amazing night that just avoided being ruined by the crowd. And yes I do mean most of them.  :hihi:
