I am game, but I am wondering 2 things:

1.  When will it show up on Ticketmaster about the show?
2.  WHEN IS THE ALBUM COMING!!!!!!!!

My wife is going and wants to hear some of the new songs.  I want her to hear a quality version, not some hack of it.

I pray to God this show is going to happen. I'm taking my girlfriend to her first Guns N' Roses concert. She has no idea how great of a show it will be and I can't fucking wait.  I am definitely going to this one and am hoping for a Columbus date as well. Detroit is always a possibility too.

1st post - Long time visitor, just finally registered!

Can't friggen wait. Caught GnR just before UYI came out, twice on the Metallica/GnR/FNM tour and once in '02.

Nothing 'better' than a GnR concert on a Friday Night in C-Town. Let the pre-party commence!

This will be a great show! #1 its the only Ohio date on this leg, so if the promotion is right the Q could be packed and rockin. Concerts in Cleveland always have a great atmosphere. As the date gets closer we can start to plan for a pre show party! Do we know if this show will have a presale? :peace:

If you look at this link from the Q arena, it shows that the Guns show will have an open floor. So those begging for a presale chill out because if its open flooring it wont matter, what seat number you have on the floor.

it's news to me, there haven't been ga concerts in ohio for years and years.  other then in cincinnatti, ironic cuz cincy was the first to ban ga, they let i think it was springsteen, or maybe john mellencamp, they let them have ga for the floor a few years ago, but it wasn't really ga.  you got to the place early, and everyone lined up and was given a lottery number.  when they pulled your number they assigned you to a certain part of the floor, i'm not sure if there were seats in those areas on the floor, but it wasn't a open the doors and everyone makes a run for it type of ga.  be interesting what they do.

and cleveland almost sold out in 2002, so i bet it comes close this time too.  i'm going if i can get tickets, it's only a few hours from me.

and yeah, bring on the preparty!!

Any Idea's for a preparty? Cooperstown? Winking Lizard? Hard Rock? If we have enough people interested I'll do some checking into things next week? I would also like for all of us with GA to meet up and help each other waiting in line, and also while at the show.

Hey Im goin to this show two and I have some questions for those of you who are from Cleveland or have seen some shows at the Quicken Loands/Gund Arena.   First off, how is the venue? My seats are on the lower level, but their on the northwest corner and the stage is on the south end.  Will I be able to see?  I was at the first Hammerstein show and I was really close so Im not concerned as much but Im bringing people who have never seen GNR, I want to make sure they have a good experience.  And how is the sound?  Second, I was hoping to bring along my friend Mary Jane with me (lame term to use I know, but couldnt think of anything else) but im not sure what the smoking rules are.  I come from the Nazi State of New York where smoking is banned inside completely, so whats the deal with the Ohio state smoking rules or just the rules for this particular place? Any help anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I can help you out as for smoking just earlier this week the Q arena announced it is completely smoke free, no smoking areas, or on the grounds from what I understand. I'm guessing they are going to be strict about it. I was 2nd row in 2002 and got bitched at for just lighting up a smoke from one of the ushers.  Just be careful its not worth getting thrown out just to have a quick drag.
As for seeing I dont think you will have a problem, I have seen a few basketball games their, and have been up in the last row and it wasnt to bad. You should be fine. Also the sound shouldnt be a concern, it should sound just like the other shows on the tour.

Just a note, Let me know where you guys are going to meet up before the show.  I will try to make it.

Mrs. Rockdawg and myself are going to the show.

It is also our first night away from baby Rockdawg since Feb. :hihi:

i'm going too.  we need to find a place to have a pre show meet up.  sounds like mr and mrs rockdawg are getting a much deserved break!

as for smoking....i don't know about this arena or cleveland in general, but there is a smoking ban in all public places thingy on the ballot here in ohio this november.  i believe it is a statewide thing.   in 2002 at columbus it was a no smoking arena, but people were smoking anything and everything all around us, and we were at the end of the row, top of the section, and there was a "security" guy right by us.  never said a word.

If anyone wanting to go to the show, but cant get tickets. This radio station is giving away tickets this weekend. Plus they have a webstream.
http://www.q92radio.com/content.php?page=redhot

Anyone know how the Cleveland show is selling. I will be on the floor. With the discussion on the board about being in GA I think it would be great for all of HTGTH members hang out in the same area. We can protect one and another and help hold our spots.

Title: Re: November 24 - Cleveland, OH @ Quicken Loans Arena
Post by: Rockdawg on October 26, 2006, 02:47:31 PM
Several facts:

The Q is non-Smoking.

There is a state wide ban on smoking in public places that is on the ballet, so we will keep you posted.

I got real seats in section 125, so I will be no help with the GA thing.

Ticketmaster still has tickets for sale.  The lower level only seems to have corner seats,  The middle seems to be selling good too.  I have not checked on the upper level.  Since there is no PA shows, we might get a good turnout, since some of them might be coming.

I would like to meet up with you guys before the show.

Any other questions?

Our options for places to meet up are great near the Q arena.
Hard Rock Cafe- (within walking distance)
Alice Coopers Cooperstown- (Close next to Jacobs field and one of the main parking garages)
Winking Lizard- (Behind Jacobs field)

Plus there's a ton of other bars nearby, or for us wanting to wait in line we could tailgate (hangout) in front of the venue.

I plan to get to Cleveland in the early afternoon to make a day out of the concert.

i'm game, i'll show up wherever they tell me!  i'd rather hang at the bar though, not much into waiting in line for hours.  and the weather could be shitty that time of year.

I was pretty upset with Nashville and I bitched and complained it happens sometimes, but I refunded my tickets and I have bought tickets for the cleveland show I am so excited again I am counting down the days again. I do have one ? is it hard to get kinda close to the stage in with general admission ?

How big are you?

Remember, everyone wants close to the stage.  When people have it, they are not very willing to give it up.

i don't know how close i'm gonna get though.  i'm not very big, and i got whiplash  from a car crash a few weeks back, so i don't want to get in the middle of the mosh pit or anything.

Thats why I think it would be cool for us HTGTH people to meet up on some side of the stage, Middle, Left, Right and help protect each other from the stupid moshers, trouble makers, drunks. If we are a group it would be much harder for them to take our spots or cause trouble in our area.

For all the out of towners, as well as visible bars and restaurants around the Q, Tower City is also within walking distance-a mall with the usual food court, newspaper stands, clothing stores, cinema, ect.-the rock hall does not stay open real late, btw-you might want to check-it may close at 6 on a Fri.

I got General admission tickets..  :smoking:    apparantly from when i asked at ticketmaster, the reserved seats sections, (anything but general admission) are selling quite well, with a good amount of General admission still available.. most likely as the tour progresses, more tickets will sell plus the walk ups the day of the show..

Ahhhh can't wait, once i hear opening riffs for jungle, wake up time to mosh...

I ll definitly be pregaming at the hard rock cafe then taking the tunnell to the Q...

It actually should be named the Lebron. j/k

One final note, I paid 90 bucks to hear Axl sing, not a bunch of mooks who think they sound like axl, so don't sing.  If you wanna sing Live and Let die, do it along with a cd not at the arena.

Peace

It does! Just jump up and down and enjoy the show. Save the moshing to a metal show, not a GNR show. The floor is going to be nuts enough, lets not get someone hurt just because they want to mosh to a song they like. I never understood moshing, why pay to go to a show to go home with bruises, bloody lips, and a black eye. Your their to enjoy the show, and maybe meet some very cool people.

See Mega_Music, that is why I got real seats.  I did not want to have to deal with that.  Plus, my wife would have gone nuts if someone would run into her while they were moshing.

Rock Hall is definately worth hitting if you are in town.

My brother-in-law and myself will be at the Boneyard from 4 til 7. Their happy hour is great. 40 beers on tap, 80 in the bottle and all pints are either $2 or $3. That is where I party before any Indians/Q events and only 3 blocks away.

I'll start looking to see if any other places are doing anything "Official"

No you cant unless the place has an outdoor smoking area designated for smoking only, this is a very strict law and I look for it to be pushed hard because its supported by so many agencies. They might as well cage us up and put up a sign reading "caution dangerous smokers behind bars"

Back on topic, I have not heard of anything official as for a meet up point, but Cooperstown has been brought up a few times. I will be in Cleveland early afternoon to start waiting in line, so I don't know for sure how much pre-partying I will be able to do. If anyone else on the boards want up close and plan on waiting in line let me know. We can always move the party to the line.

I'm real thinking about going to this show.  I'ts about 500 miles from house and around a 7 hour drive.  :-\   I never been to Cleveland before. I have a few questions mabye some fo you can help me with please. Is the whole floor GA for this show? If the whole floor is GA do they cut it in half liek the NJ one and make the front VIP? What hotles are right next to the Quicken Loans Arena? How is the weather this time a year? I just hate to go and have it snow and I can't make it home for a day.  :nervous:  One last thing is the arena easy to find from I-77? It looks like i just have to take I-80 west to 14 and then I-480 west to I-77 north. Thank you very much for any help with these question.    :peace:

So Jim BOB, you're going?  just post the pre party, i'll be there, i'll find it.

i plan on staying the night, and going to the hall of fame the next day too.

i was wondering the same of the floor, will it all be a pit, or part a pit and part seats like msg.  my ticket just genad.  and the smoking law (which i voted against)i believe takes effect on dec 7, although i'm sure the arena is smoke free already.

Brownstone
I'll try to help you out. #1 the arena is very easy to find, here is the way I go if you are coming on 77, you will want to take the 3rd jacobs field Q arena exit (I believe its the east 9th exit), turn right at the first light, and make another right at the next light this will put you in Ontario street (i think). Go 2 lights and make a left, this will take you to event parking located behind the Indians ballpark. The arena is situated beside the baseball stadium. If you would like a place to stay there are several hotels near by. The only one I can think of is the Hilton its located near Jacobs field and a good block or two away. Im not from Cleveland but have went to several ballgames in the city and its fairly easy to navigate.

The weather in northern Ohio, is very unpredictable in the end of November, it could easily be snow, or the mid 50's. The weather is anyones guess, we should know by the weekend what the forecasters are predicting.

I assume the entire floor is GA at least I am hoping
If you have anymore questions I'll try my best to help you out. Hope you can make the travel to the Buckeyes state, and look forward to rocking with you.

Yeah, I'll be going, although my Bro-In-Law just backed out because he can't get outta work. Sucks because he was also supposed to find the herb! Oh well, I'll keep looking for someone to go with me, although I'm not afraid of goin it alone. Never stopped me before. I'll post the pre-party if I find one. I know I've heard of some going to Cooperstown (Alice Cooper's joint) as well as the Hard Rock, but I still like my old-reliable (The Boneyard). Floor will not have a chair on it and no smoking in the Q. Think they even removed the smoking areas in the restaurant the is inside the Q.

Hi,

Tickets are still available from ticketmaster, if you print them off you'll have it before friday. Also some dealership in Cleveland I guess today was giving a way free floor tickets for every test drive. I'll do some checking to see if I can find out what dealership it was if your interested. You could also try to get one from the box office, or I am sure someone will have one for sale at the arena the day of the show.

Pre-Partying?
Here is what I found by calling a couple of places today about pre-partying

Cooperstown will have extended Happy Hour until 9:00.

Hard Rock will not be doing anything special for the show.

I'll be driving into the city early afternoon, to hit a couple places before the show.

Pre-Partying
I'll be at The Boneyard until their happy hour ends at 7pm and then probably move to to Cooperstown or a smaller dive bar. With it being a Friday night, places like the Hard Rock and Cooperstown may get more of a business person type crowd and sometimes looking for a smaller place can end up working out.

Post-Partying
I found this interesting... Peabody's Down Under lists a Meet and Greet with Sabastian Bach. Doors open at 10pm.
Last call is at 2/2:15am at Cleveland bars so not a lot of places will be open afterwards. Please post anything you know of.

I look forward to meeting lots of you. I'll be in the HTGTH tshirt with Where's /jarmo? on the back.?

I am probably leaving pretty much right after the concert.  Kind of sucks.  I had planned on getting up there really early and spending the day at the rock hall of fame.  But plans got changed.  I guess that kind of happens when you are going with 4 people.  The seats won't be as good as when I saw them in 02 because of funding problems.  I saw them in Columbus in 02 and was in the section right by the stage right abouve the floor.  But I am just happy to be in the damned building.  I am going to be in section 101 row 15.  I will be wearing a black AC/DC shirt if anyone is around that area.

I so cannot fuckin wait.

I'll be attending the show as well.  In fact, I have an extra pair of tickets that I'm trying to sell.  Buying from me saves you $15 when you consider the handling and convenience charges (face value = $80, but charges add another $20).

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160053402713

If someone wants these, use the Buy It Now or PM me (though I'll receive messages through eBay faster than messages here).

Cheers.

Thanks jaz!  i did have a good time!

i see no one's posted a review, and sorry, but my reviews aren't like thorough like some people's, so i'll give you a little report.  i couldn't tell you the set list, and when i went into the arena, they were already doing it's so easy, i assume Jungle was  first.  the show was kick ass as usual.  axl's voice sounded good throughout, the band nailed their duties as usual.  but i must say.....the crowd really kinda sucked.  i was on the floor, maybe 15 feet back and everyone was just standing there.  i was like WTF, this is a rock show not the symphony.  it was kinda nice to not be almost squished to death like hammerstein, but then again that's part of being on the floor at a show.  it seemed really odd to be on the floor, that close and everyone just standing around, a few feet between everyone.  i must say, and not to offend anyone, but i've always found that cleveland isn't really a good town for a concert.  it's a big enough market, and it claims to be the birth place of rock and roll, but they don't seem to have good crowds.  i probably should have went to detroit instead....it's only an hour or so farther.

the preparty was dead.  i don't know if people went to the show early or what, but i got to cooperstown at like 6 and there was like no one there, at least not friendly fun looking people.  so i didn't meet up with any forum members, i ended up hanging with the bartender, and a group of dudes from cleveland, that by the way, knew nothing of the new band, only that slash wasn't involved, and they were really wondering if they would be any good.  which was on a lot of people's minds.  i talked with quite a variety of people there for the concert, either at the bar, or my hotel.  alot of them really hadn't heard the new band and were quite skeptical.  everyone of them that i saw either after the show or the next day were very impressed with the show they saw. : ok:

SIS - the reviews are in this thread... http://www.heretodaygonetohell.com/board/index.php?topic=40142.0

I stayed at The Boneyard with my bro-in-law and some Toronto Gunners until somewhere around 9:30 or 10. The Brown Ales made the evening a bit fuzzy. When we finally hit the floor it only took about 20 minutes to mingle our way to within 10 ft of the stage on the right side.

Killer show. The crowd was dead in my opinion. But the next day my feet hurt, my voice was hoarse, and I was pretty hung over. All signs of a good show.

^^so you were front row, basically?  i probably should have worked my way up closer, but i didn't want to push in front of people and start a riot or anything, lol.  i was on the right side, back maybe 15 feet, 20 at the most.  i thought i did pretty good for arriving so late, it had to be after 11 when i got there, and i didn't even go down onto the floor until after guns started.  i was outside smoking with some hot young dude, and when we came back in, it's so easy was playing.  i did end up at the boneyard, probably about 1030, though.  after hanging out at cooperstown with the hot bartender, this ticket scalper dude took me over to the boneyard.  he actually gave me one of his tickets, pretty good seats actually, but i didn't want to sit with him, and the people in the surrounding seats didn't look very fun.  so i went on the floor which is where my ticket was for.  i hope no body around here is the drunk dude that kept sitting on the floor and looking up my skirt!

glad everyone had a good time!

it was a great show once again for me. Hey thanks  mega_music for telling me how to find the arena. It was very easy to find.  : ok: Also thanks   JimBobJoeJackJr  for the lis of hotels near by. I stayed at the Radisson. Everything was great but the Eagles of Shit Metal. Cleveland seem like a nice town from what I got to see. Wish I had more time to see the rock n roll hall of fame.  :peace:

i wish i would have seen the eagles of death metal now.....i wanna see how bad they were!

i chose my hotel by it's name, lol, I stayed at the Hyatt, i could see the arena from my window.

you should hvae gone to the hall of fame.  they really had some good displays and the clash exhibit was really cool.  but the last time i was there, like in 99, they had likenesses of axl and slash, but they are gone now, replaced by some bullshit person like in sync or something.

I honestly didnt think they were that bad of a band. I kinda like their music. Their downfalls was each song seemed to sound the same and it was just a 45 minute beat with different lyrics. If this band went on before Bach, they would of not gotten such a bad response. Bach had Cleveland pumped up after his set and then the Eagles couldn't perform at the level of the audience. Eagles wont get a very good reception from most Guns fans because Axl personally said he didnt like them. If the Cleveland lineup went like this Eagles would still be on tour. EODM, Suicide Girls, Sebastian, Suicide Girls, Guns. To many ups and downs in the acts, causes the crowd to get irritated and by the time Eagles went on stage several people were drunk and ready for Guns already, so they take their anger out on one of the opening acts. There should be a disclaimer at every Guns show that reads "Dont binge drink take your time because Axl wont be on stage til 12 conserve your alcohol intake"

Did you hear that one guy bitching to axl about how he needs to hurry up with the guitar solo's because it was so late the venue stopped selling beer and he wanted to go out and drink more ?

That one guy was the only problem i had with the show.
