I was just looking at the layout of the Target Center.  Does anyone know from past shows if they will do GA floor or reserve floor or someone suggested they may do half house reserve floor.  Any quess?

I'm going for sure.  In 02' the floor was reserved seats.  I hope they do this again.  I think this is the best way to see a concert.

They had reserved seats at all three shows GNR has played at the Target Center but I really hope they don't do that this time, I like when the floor is GA much more energy at the show then, if you want a seat you can always get on on the side.

I will be there.  I prefer reserved seating so I can show up at show time, but if the floor is GA, thats cool too.  I will just get FRONT ROW seats on the lower level next to the stage.  I hope I can get them on my own and not have to use a scalper.

I'll be flying in from Vegas for this one. I also hope it's general admission, it's easy to get really close even if your not there early.

I'll be there for sure, also probably Ames (never even been to Iowa so if there was ever a time to enter the state it'd be for this).  Preparty would be sweet, Loretian you mentioned something about your office across from Target Center???  That'd be awesome.

Seems like the only time I come out of the boonies and post on here is when I'm attending a show.  Bring on GNR concerts #4 and #5 for me!

Yes the Hard Rock is across the street but it sucks, its so small, there are a ton of bars by the Target Center much better ones to meet at. That is one good thing about the show being in Mpls as opposed to St Paul, more places to meet before and after the show.

Oh yeah, that's right, I remember now, I went there once when it opened. It was WAY to tiny. (I guess after living in Vegas and hanging at the Hard Rock here, the others don't compare)  First Ave. is pretty much right there too right?

Where'd you find it? THey used to sell it over at a Val-U liquors on the U of M campus but stopped getting it a long time ago. That stuff is nasty.

My office isn't across the street from the TC, but it's only a few blocks away.  We have 16 parking spots I could reserve for us as well.    A full bar, a full restaurant, plus two more floors with space for a band to play and the office is damn cool, we just renovated the whole building (in fact, we just moved in today)

My HTGTH usage definitely goes up when a show is coming up too.....  : ok:

In 02 I lived in St Paul, so any liquor store on university had it.  I live in the burbs now and I have never seen it out here.  It does seem hard to find now.  Funny story, when I bought it in 02, the guy ringing me up says..."Going to see GNR tonight aren't ya?".  I asked him how he knew, he said that only GNR fans or homeless people buy the stuff.  Yeah, it is nasty.

I haven't been able to find it in any Liquor Store in Bloomington...

I used to work on 85th and Lyndale a couple years ago, and on 84th and Lyndale there was a store called "SIDS" that had it one time I went in, I had to ask for it cause I couldn't find it on the shelves.?

The confusion of presales, passwords, ticketmaster, tickets.com, gunsroses.com, etc. is enough to drive any fan insane.? Hopefully I can keep my cool throughout the whole ordering process when it occurs.? All I'm hopeful for is the alloted 8 (i think that's the limit) for side seats somewhere close to the stage.? I'm bringing a posse of a few newbies to GNR and also getting two tickets as a wedding present for a couple.? I think I have 12-15 friends coming right now so 4-7 will have to sit by themselves.? Nonetheless should be a good night.

Thats awesome that you can find that many people to go to the shows.  In 02 I got a bunch of people to go, but tickets where like $40-50 bones for the floor. There is no way I can get that many people to pay $80+ this time around, plus I may use a scalper if need be, which would definately rule most people out.  Luckily I have my wife, and one other friend who are GNR diehards too (not as much as me, I have a GNR/Reagan room in my house), so I can at least enjoy the show with people I am close to.  It is so much more fun that way. I convinced my wife to drive down to Iowa for the show the night before, and my other friend wants to check out the Chicago show too....wooooohoooo!!!

I was online looking for GNR tickets to Target Center and you find them for about 165-200 dollars.  Every site offered the same 2 tickets options.  Do they go ahead and sell these before the tickets are release?  Plus the map they offered was a seating chart from 2000.

That was a concern of mine too, I could have gotten 1st row in the same section, but they were seats 1-4.....After emailing the venue, and got the seat number arrangement, I wanted to make sure I was in at least seats 7-11....I got 11-14, which I think are aisle seats.

They are decent seats....the section is about the middle of the arena. One could say 112 or 113 would be better, but that depends on the size of the stage, etc and what vantage point one prefers....you'll get a great overall view of the stage from those seats though.?

Here is a link to the seating chart....I am in sec 129.....5th row with aisle seats on the right side.

Awesome...I was pumped that I got aisle seats too.....so during the solos that everyone cries about happen, I have an easy escape to go take a wee and get some more beer.  I like the solos for that reason...

Cool find Buddha.? On ticketmaster they moved the sale to Friday for both MPLS and Ames, so while people are fumblefucking around registering with 93X they could just go to ticketmaster, or gunsnroses.com.? My buddy said that 93X had some internet trivia where if you fill in the missing lyric you'd win tickets but I tried to find it yesterday and couldn't find anything on the site.?

P.S.? you ever have any luck finding VGH tabs/chords???

It is weird that they not only got the date wrong but the location too?

Cool find Buddha.  On ticketmaster they moved the sale to Friday for both MPLS and Ames, so while people are fumblefucking around registering with 93X they could just go to ticketmaster, or gunsnroses.com.  My buddy said that 93X had some internet trivia where if you fill in the missing lyric you'd win tickets but I tried to find it yesterday and couldn't find anything on the site.

P.S.  you ever have any luck finding VGH tabs/chords???

No.  I had a friend who tried to tab "Someday" but no luck.   And I wish it was at the Xcel Center.

Yes, my wife and I are going to take the road trip to IA, me and buddies are going to the MPLS show.  I haven't bought tickets yet for the Iowa show however.  I am going to wait for ticketmaster to release some tickets, I wasn't too excited about the sections available on the GNR website.  I was hoping for tickets much like the ones I got for the Target center, closer to the stage.  But I will go to IA either way.

Ticketmaster is offering a Premium Reserve Seat Auction on sale Friday at 10:00.  It looks like they are auctioning off sections 129.130,113 and 112 rows A & B.

I think you bid for these seats.  Go to Ticketmaster for more info.

Haha, I live in stillwater and I remember that night...fun stuff....one year we had skynard and that was a nightmare.  I digress...

I have a good problem to have.  To my surprise, more of my friends actually want to go to the show even with the higher ticker prices.  Unfortunately I only got 4 tickets, 2 tickets short.  Did anyone get any tickets in section 129, either row D, E, or F? I have 4 tickets in row E seats 11-14.  I am looking get a couple more tickets around those seats.  If anyone has any extra tickets around that section, please let me know as I would like to try and work something out with you.  Thanks.

Ha, cool. What year was that by chance? I was like 4 or 5 if I recall correctly, it was a cool show though, but they looked kinda scared to play on the floating stage.

There is also an NBA City bar right in Target Center that has good food and tons of tvs.  A few other places in the area:  Chammps, Hooters, Drink, The Loon, O'Donovans, Glueks....

Let me know if you happen upon someone who has extra tickets around row E, I have 4 tickets with 6 people who want to go.  A good problem to have I guess than the reverse. I may have to consult a scalper to find a couple more tickets in such a specific manner.  I don't want to though.

I did get the kick in the nuts from a scalper, and I did solve my ticket problem.  I ended up getting two more tickets in the row directly in front, seatsb 13-14.....man those scalpers are good, they got the whole row in front of me...amazing how they can pull that shit off like that.

So far it seems like the shows that have been rescheduled were not selling very well. I am not saying that is the "reason" they were moved, as we have no way of really knowing that, but I assume management would be less likely to move a certain date if it is selling well. I am mentioning the Dec 2nd show to everyone I know, and recommend they check out the concert.  I have already gotten at least 3 or 4 people to go that may have otherwise not have.  The reason I mention this, is because I do not want our show to be postponed or canceled. So if all of us could really push the show and try and get as many people interested in checking out the show as possible, it could help, who knows. Word of mouth is still one of the best marketing tools out there.  If it comes close to showtime and there are only 2-5 thousand tickets sold, the chances of the show happening on DEC 2nd won't be good.  Ticket sales look like they started out well but since have slowed down over the weekend.   I am very excited for this show and I want it to happen!

No, it STARTS at $23, up to $123? Wich kinda makes me wish I could stay in Minneapolis for an extra week, so I could go to both. The Aerosmith/Crue show here is like $250 for good seats, lol

Also, although Aerosmith is cheaper, Motley Crue was JUST there....so who knows. I don't think it will really affect things that much. a couple hundred people at most, which in the scope of 10,000 isn't all that many. Also, Gn'R has the advantage of being on a weekend.

Oh hell yeah, That would be great, I'm guessing for this show, it'll be about 3/4ths full, which still is a sucessful show bussiness wise...so i'm guessing like 7,000, which is pretty damn good still.

Do you know to get around 7,000 seats what sections would have to be full?

I am a dork and did a little math.  Unfortunately I don't know what the floor would hold as GA.  But in 02, the floor was full (they had reserved seats), the lower reserved was full maybe 80%, and the upper deck was about 1/3 fulll....and the estimates, depending on who you ask or what you read, put the attended between 6500 and 8000....I think max at the target center when there is no behind the stage seating is around 12-13k.  As the one poser said, I thought it was about 3/4 full in 02.

Based on the math I did, I think the lower reserved fits about 4000-5000. So if they sell that out, and get a decent floor crowd and maybe 1000 in the upper deck, they could hit the 6000- 7000 mark again, which would be a pretty profitable crowd I'd imagine. Its tough to tell how this show is really selling, because there is no way to know really how many floor tickets have been sold so far. You can still get "decent" lower reserved seats.  All the people who i know that are going, are all getting reserved seats as they don't wanna mess with the floor.

I think the biggest problem is the ticket price.  Way too much for a band that has not put out a new album since the last century   They are probably hoping that concert sales will go up when(if) Chinese Democracy is released.

Yeah, the last couple days sales have picked up, and least the reserved seating.  I sure hope the floor is selling well....It would look silly to have an arena full in the stands, and a few hundred people on the floor.

I think it is a dumb way to do the pricing.  The younger fans are more likely to want GA admission tickets, but they have less money to spend.  At an arena like Target Center, General Admissions tickets should be less than reserved seating

Agreed.  There are some young GNR fans out there no doubt, but most of the diehards are going to be older and want the comfort of an asign seat, at least in these parts. I have no problem with the ticket prices, but I am GNR rube and have a good job, I am just concerned about the casual fan.  I would not pay this much to see a band that I am not utterly fancied about. Pleeease MN, buy more tickets, I neeeed this show to happen!!

The ticket prices really aren't surprising to me. Every big band I've seen in the past couple years has been expensive. And also every concert I've been too, GA was the preferred choice. I just like to get as close as I can, and since GA at a Gn'R show really isn't all the rowdy, you can almost simply walk up front with a little push here and there.

Just checked ticketmaster.
All lower level reserved seating rows A-H are sold out!

Yeah, the last couple days sales have picked up, and least the reserved seating.  I sure hope the floor is selling well....It would look silly to have an arena full in the stands, and a few hundred people on the floor.

If that happens, Axl could do something like he did in a show in '93 n' have everyone in the stands or whatever come down to the floor.

Really, surprising that would happen, not having enough people on the floor in 1993. Do you know what show that was?  That would be kick ass for the people who got nosebleeds

Man, the Aerosmith and Motley crue looks to be selling better than the GNR show already, and its still just a presale. Floor seats are all gone, and lower level reserved have already sold faster than GNR, AND at $123 a pop. What the hell is wrong with people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what do u expect 2 bands in one plus aerosmith!! they actually have som,e credabilty in the last 13 years GNR have nothing a band of "nobodys" with NO cd and a flop on the last tour. Its REALLY shocking that they would do this without an album. theres no way theyll sell many tickets like this and the shows will all sell like garbage except for the candian cities. they CRY for bands like GNR.

I didn't mean to come off as suprised, because I am not.  Just disappointed really. This doesnt bode well for this show, about 10,000 people who could have been possible GNR ticket buyers just spent there $123 + elsewhere.  Maybe if the single is released next week, that will help ticket sales.

06.25.91 - Greensboro Coliseum, Greensboro, NC
opening act: Skid Row
audio/video recording?: no
notes: Apparently another long show - estimated to be around 215 minutes!! GN'R hit the stage an hour late, at 10 p.m. A large part of the audience left early, leaving many empty seats. Axl asks the audience to forgive them if their playing is a bit sloppy since they're still learning to play the new songs. After about 12:30 a.m., Axl invites the remaining audience to move down to the lower premium seats.

I haven't received my tickets from tickets.com yet either and Allstate show is 11-27. I'm checking the MSG thread and people are starting to get them but not all of them. I emailed tickets.com and got the same response. Then I emailed them a bitchy email and they didn't bother to respond. If I don't see anything next week, I'm going to start calling. Nothing like making fans wait and wait and wait...

Wrong. They make it, but not many stores carry it. I do, however, have some friends that are coming down from Grand Forks, ND for the show, and at Happy Harrys bottle shop they carry it. What we always do, is get a bottle, crank up Nightrain, and the bottle has to be gone by the time the song is over. lol

So I will be riding the Nightrain on the way to the show ;) The only thing that would make it better is if they let me bring it in and we got to drink it during the song, but that'll never happen.

Sure, if you catch us at the right time. We're gettin a limo and going to the Hard Rock at 5, probably stay there till 7 then go to the Target Center. But it'll probably be gone before we go in the Hard Rock.

Even if you miss out on it, your not missin much...the stuff is horrible. It has to be absolutly ice cold to make it somewhat drinkable. I only drink it with this partucular group of friends, and we only drink it to the song. It's not something I'd buy regulary, lol

I think it is selling ok.  It is tough to tell, since there is really know way to tell how the floor is selling.  The lower level reserved is prob 70-80% sold out, and I am sure some cheaper nosebleed were sold as well. This show won't be a sell out, but it could end up being a respectable crowd.  My guess is they will draw 5-7 thousand.

: ok:

Is your office still able to host a mini-preshow party?

I was listening to 93 X today and apparently they are having some type of mud wrestling competition to give away tickets to the concert.

Looks like I'm getting a couple more people to go with me now that the ticket prices have dropped. I was gonna go by myself, now it looks like I might have four friends going as well, should be a good time!

I can't wait. I live in Vegas, but am originally from Northern Minnesota. I fly in on Friday, and my buddy is picking me up at the airport, and I have 14 friends coming from up north (my buddy is goin nuts cause of all the people staying at his house, but he'll get over it, lol) So I'm sure Friday night will be a long night, pass out around 5 am, get a few house of sleep in and get up and start again!! We are all going to eat at Chevys mexican place at like 5 pm, it's only like a block away from the Target Center, then I wanna be at the show early so I can see all the bands, then after the show we're goin back to his house to party, which I'm sure we'll all be so amped up that it will last well into the morning hours, I'm counting the hours!!

Yeah, you definately have had the experience.  I have only seen one show, the 02 in Minneapolis.  I never saw them in their heyday cuz the rents wouldn't let me go.  So I am going to two shows this time around.  I am not sure how I would react if a show I had tickets for got canceled,  I don't know how forgiving I would be.  So here's to a great couple of shows on Fri and Sat!

I just checked ticketmaster.com, and you can still get floor tickets for $47.50. You can use the print option and get the tickets on the spot.  Good luck bud.

But, ask around and see if anyone else needs tickets.

A  couple of questions for someone who knows.

When do we realistically think GNR will take the stage?  If you want to miss the openers but not take a chance on missing GNR?  Is the earliest they would take the stage around 10:30, but probably more like 11:00 or later?

What time does Bach go on and for how long?

Title: Re: December 2 - Minneapolis, MN @ Target Center

It seems like Bach has been playing 9:30-10:30 and Gnr has been going on between 11:30-12. I'm not sure if I'm gonna check out Bach, I'd like to but did see Skid Row back in the day so I might just hang at a bar with my buds and then head over around 10:30-11.

I think the earliest GNR has come on for the NA tour is 11pm. We don't plan on getting to the venue until 10:30.  Then look, this turns out to be the one show Axl comes on early..lol..so I have the same concern.  I don't want to sit through opening acts, and I don't want to miss a note of GNR.

I made up a list of rules that I emailed to all the people I am going to the show with. I thought I would share it with you guys.

Rules for Saturday

1. Sleep in Saturday morning. Consume large quantities of caffenated beverages during the day. Show time is 11:30pm, ending 2:00am.

2. Whining about the time of the show is not allowed.(see rule number one)

3. In order to gain possesion of ticket after money payment, you must consume at least one glass of Night Train. Multiple glasses are encouraged, while supplies last.

4. There will be no sitting allowed during the performance, except during the guitar solos.

5. There will be no bathroom and/or beverage breaks during the performance, except during the guitar solos. (this is the reason there are guitar solos, see rule number four)

6. You are not allowed to make direct eye contact with him.

7. You are required to applaud with vigor and sincerity after every song.

8. You are required "to help him sing this" on Knockin on Heavens door. Failure to do so will result in a beer bath and/or roundhouse kick to the face, depending on number of previous rule violations.

9.  You are not allowed to answer the question, "Do you know where the f%$* you are?". It is a rhetorical question and he will answer it for you.

10. You are not allowed to sing along unless he asks you to (see rule number 8). People are there to hear the greatest rock front man in history, not your crackly, drunken, out of tune voice.

11. You are not allowed to wear ear plugs, and/or cover your ears any time during the performance, especially during the pyro.

12. You are required to perform at least 30 fist pumps per song.

13. Standing motionless for more than 5 seconds will result in a kick to the back of the knee. (see rule 4, 7, 12)

14. You are not allowed to jeer, laugh, or make fun of anyone who, in the presence of his greatest, has the need to cry in awe and amazement. (this rule is so I do not get made fun of)

15. At the end of the performance, you are required to acclaim that you have just witnessed the greatest rock show you have ever seen.

No, more north, actually, come to think of it, most are coming from Grand Forks, ND...I lived in a small town in MN about 40 miles from Forks, and they ended up moving there

Roughly 4,620 minutes!

Time is going by way to slow...I just gotta get through tomorrow though. Friday I leave work early at 9 am, then it's straight to the Airport, my flight gets in Minneapolis at 4:35, by that time, all my friends should be in town, so then the party starts ;) My flight better not be delayed!!!

Where are you staying at?

I just spoke to the Target Center to get information on getting a cab after the show and she gave me some additional info.

She said the "estimated" end time of tomorrow's show is 1:30 and GNR is "estimated" to go on at 11:10.  Don't hold me to that.

Also she said that last call is scheduled to be at 11:30 - 11:45 and again a disclaimer.

It is getting close! : ok:

You'll have no problem getting a cab, its right downtown Mpls with alot of bars around so the cabs are always around there. Worse case scenario walk a couple blocks to one of the hotels down there and cabs are usually waiting there.

I was thinking if the show got done at 2:00 and all the bars were closed, I did not want to wait in the cold with a lot of other people trying to get a cab.  They said that the hotel across the street also has a cab stand.

I'm pretty psyched about Helmet, myself.  Saw them at 1st Avenue a few years ago and they were pretty good live.

Really, really, really looking forward to tonight.  It's my 5th GNR show (1st-91 at the TC, 2nd-92 at the Metrodome, 3rd-93 at the Fargodome, and 4th 02 at the TC) and this is the first time I've ever been on the floor.  I've got about 150 miles to get to Minneapolis, so I'll be heading out the door in about 20 minutes.  See you all there!

What an utterly amazing and spectacular performance that was both captivating and grab you by the balls exciting.  This is my first review of a show, but I have attended 4 previous concerts in the past to include the Ames, Iowa show on Friday the 1st.  First off,  I would like to say hello again to Asian Styles and Funky Monkey who sat to either side of me in Section 111 Row A.  It was very nice to meet the both of you and I am happy that your first GN'R concert was so damn awesome and by want I have read about other reviews from previous shows on this tour, undoubtedly the best show of the TOUR!!

First off,  Sebastian Bach (SKID ROW) did a very good job of opening the show.  Sebastian is a very good singer with a very clear and powerful voice.  He give a very good performance and really interacts with the crowd and gets the place primed for the rest of the night.  He sang all of his biggest hits from back in the day and sang some new songs that he told us about which he has on his myspace webpage or are otherwise are on YouTube.

I didn't watch Helmet's set as I was up and walking around the Target Center and talking with other concert attendees.  In my opinion, you could probably do away with Helmet's portion of the concert or any third musical act.  I understand the Axl and the band like to go on late, but just start the show say at 9 instead of 8 and let Sebastian Bach and Skid Row have a longer setlist.  This is just my opinion and I guess it wasn't a big deal and 2 openers (3 if you include Suicide girls) just gives you more bang for the buck for your ticket purchase.

Now on to the MAIN EVENT:

The Target Center was overall about 75 percent full.  The General Admission floor was very full, the lower level reserved seats were about 95% full, and the upper level was about 30-40% full.  After Helmet finished their set (Done at 11:15)  there was only a 30 minute wait until you heard the first chords for Welcome to the Jungle.

First let my talk about Axl and his performance.  He seemed to be in a very good mood through out the show and talked to the crowd a couple of times.  He talked about it being cold outside and how that we were a bunch of  "Tough Motherfuckers" for being able to handle the cold weather and how that he was from Indiana and how back in the day he had to get the "Fuck out of Dodge" becasue partly of the cold weather.  It was great to see that he still is so dynamic in his performance.  He has awesome stage presence and ran back and forth across the stage several times during the concert and jumped, danced, spun, swayed, and grooved all night long.  For being 44 years old and doing what he does is breathtaking.  In my opinion and a lot of people would agree me, he is one of, if not the the best frontman of a Rock N' Roll band.

Axl's voice was very, very powerful.  The sound and mix of the band was spot on.  Axl's singing was awesome and there weren't any technical problems that I could tell.  Axl's voice held up through the entire concert and was very clear.  He didn't have a lot of the gravelly or gritty style to his voice nor did his voice sound like he was on Helium.

Now on to the some of the Highlights from the show.  Obviously, tingles went down my spine when you heard "Do you know were the Fuck you are?"!!  Welcome to the Jungle is such a great opening song the crowd went apeshit.  WTTJ was followed in succesion by It's So Easy and Mr. Brownstone.  These 3 songs at the beginning just electrify the crowd and create so much energy.  The band played these in Rapid fire and after the third song is when Axl talked for the first time to the Crowd.  The next song was Live and Let Die.  This song was done very well and the use of the PYRO was insane.  The explosions and the fireballs were syched for great affect.

The first new song to be played was "Better".  The band really nailed this song and Axl's singing was incredible.  Watching a bootleg of this song doesn't do it justice.  Axl gave 110% percent on this one.   He was singing like a screaming Banshee especially during the verses of:  I never wanted you to be so full of Anger, I never wanted you to be somebody else, I never wanted you to be someone to be afraid to know themselves, I only wanted you to see things for yourself.  Axl absolutely crushed this song.  I was in awe.  He sang with such power and feeling.  One of many highlights.  My only gripe about this and all of the other leaked songs was that he didn't tell the audience the names of the songs.  I know it isn't a big deal, but you would think that saying the song name would help give a more lasting impression of the song for those that were hearing them for the first time.

ROBIN FINCK:  He was very impressive and my favorite of the 3 guitarist (4 if you count base guitar).  Robin's solo was very passionate and you can tell that he really gets into his playing.  His solo was bluesy and very well done.  He also handled most of the guitard leads for most of the Appetite songs during the show and you all know that he does a huge portion of the Lead stuff for the new songs.  I really liked his style and he is more than capable at what he does.  His sole led into Sweet Child O' Mine.  The crowd really sang along to this one and once again Robin handled the lions share of guitar on this song.

Next came Knockin on Heavens Door.  This song was done o.k.  This newer arrangement is not my favorite.  It is slowed down some from the Use Your Illusion version.  The song has a more mellow groove now and the Audience sing along portion seemed out of place or in the wrong spot of the song in my opinion.  Instead of being in the middle portion of the song it was towards the end.  During this portion there were hints of the Freddie Mecury benefit concert Reggae style but also a kind of physcadelic vibe as well.  Also the sing along portion just didnt have that intensity that I was accustome too, but like I said it was a different version than Use Your Illusion recording and it was still good, but just different.

YOU COULD BE MINE:  What a kick ass song.  One of the all time G&R greats.  Having seen several bootlegs of this song, I knew what to expect but was still amazed.  All of the layers of synthesizers and sound affects at the beginning of the song by Chris Pittman just add a extra helping of Spectacular.  You can really tell that this is one of the Band's favorite songs to play and for Axl to sing.  The band was just awesome during this song (and for the whole show) and played with extra intensity.  Ron Thal a.k.a Bumblefoot did a few of the leads on this song.  I also if I saw correctly came to the rescue of Robin Finck.  It looked as if that Robin broke a string during this song and went back stage to get a different guitar.  Upon seeing this Bumblefoot ran from the left side of the stage over to the far right side to take over on lead guitar for a solo.  I am not exactly sure if this is want happened, but anyways all 3 guitarist were awesome on this one.  Axl also just was ear peircing on this one.  Such intensity and passion.  Of course I was singing along and tried to hold the notes as long as Axl.  Tried being the optimum word.  I don't know how he can run back and forth and still hit all of the notes and hold them for so long.  SIMPLY AMAZING!!!

DIZZY REED:  His solo followed YCBM and Funky Monkey told be it was a song title "Angie".  He can play the piano very well and I think his playing adds a lot to the overall sound of G&R.  Just one of many reasons that I like G&R so much is the key addition of the piano in some of their songs.  Yesterdays, Estranged, November Rain, Pretty Tied Up to name just a few.  Of course Dizzy's solo segwayed into "The Blues".

THE BLUES:  This is also a very awesome song and nobody does power ballads better than AXL and company.  The lyrics to this song are awesome and Robin's guitar style add so much to this song.  Of course Axl's singing and point of view for this song are vital.  This is the only song were Axl had problems.  He was back stage during Dizzy's solo and when he came back out to sing this song his voice seemed off.  It was only for about the first 1/3 of the song.  His kind of sounded like he had a frog in his voice.  It was kind of going from high to low and back up again at weird times.  It only lasted for the first third of the song and from then on his Voice got very powerful again and the last 1/3 of the song was awesome and some of his better singing of the night.

Axl and the Band next played "Down here on the Farm".  This is one of the better songs for me from "The Spaghetti Incident".  Axl was having a lot of fun on this one and commented at the end of the song on how they had to something different.

Part Two to follow:

Title: Re: December 2 - Minneapolis, MN @ Target Center
Post by: yankeeman32 on December 03, 2006, 01:02:29 PM
RICHARD FORTUS SOLO:  His solo was okay and then Robin came back out and they did a combined guitar solo.  I have seen some other reviews and it was said that the combined guitar solo was "Beautiful" by Christina Aquilera.  I have seen a bootleg video of them doing this before, but to me it didn't seem to like they did this.  I guess I am not sure.  This slow solo led into OUT TO GET ME.  Needless to say the transition to this song was a little akward.

"Out to Get Me" is a very hard hitting song and they played the hell out of this song.  Axl's voice was spectacular.  The Pyro also was kick-ass for this song.  Overall if I remember the setlist correctly this song came between the Solo and followed by November Rain.

Of course everyone sang along to November Rain and Axl played the piano for this song as per usual.  The cool part about this song was that each of the 3 guitarist played a different guitar solo.  The crowd really got into this song.  I enjoyed it as well but I would have much preferred to hear "Estranged".  November Rain was followed by Used to Lover Her.

I.R.S. was  the 3rd of the 5 leaked tracks to play.  This song was also done very well.  It did seem thought that compared to some other versions of the song I have seen bootlegs of that Axl might have changed the order of some of the lyrics.

BUMBLEFOOT SOLO:  His solo was his tapping and shredding followed by him doing the guitar portion of "Don't Cry".  Several in the audience really got into his freaky fingerwork and yelled and screamed.  I liked the "Don't Cry" portion more than the other portion.  Overall, Ron was very engaged with audience the whole show and his contribution to the new songs was very good.

MY MICHELLE:  Sebastian came out for this song to sing with Axl.  This song is one of my least favorites off of Appetite for Destruction, but seeing it live the song was much better.  Sebastian did a very good job singing his parts and it made Axl step up the intensity when he sang.  Overall, this song was very heavy and the live version is much better than the studio version.

Next was a song that my brother and I both wanted to hear as well as Funky Monkey from this forum sitting next to me wanted to hear as well.  When the first few notes of this song were played and everyone realizes what song it was, the place went crazy.  Of course I am talking about "ROCKET QUEEN".  This song is amazing.  Axl owned this one and the guitar solo by Richard Fortus was spot on.  The crowd was signing every word to this song and the last part of the song is extraordinary.  This song was followed by "Patience".

Last but not least:

NIGHTRAIN:  The live version of this song is one of the best live songs by G&R.  The opening with the cow bell is just cooler than shit.  The entire song just rocks from beginning to end and the extended instrumental jam of several minutes with everyone playing their combined asses off creates a crescendo of energy and frenzy.  This is a great song to end with used to dramatic affect to set up the encore.

ENCORE:

Chinese Democracy
Madagascar
Paradise City

The 2 new/leaked songs were better live than any previous bootlegs I have seen.  The band was very tight for both songs and Axl put a lot of effort into them.  The bad part was that most of the crowd didn' know what they were and after the playing of Nightrain, the crowd seemed confused and/or unsure of what it was they were getting.  Once again as stated earlier, it would have been beneficial in my eyes if Axl would have told the crowd the names of these songs and made mention of the fact that these were potential songs for the new album "Chinese Democracy".

PARADISE CITY:  This song is an absolute killer song to end a show.  The band and Axl went bonkers on this and the pyro and confetti brought absolute pandomonium to the Target Center.  This song was custom made to be performed live and the musical gymnastics was awesome.  Everyone in the band was running around during this and the energy in the place was astronomical.  I was on cloud nine and in euphoria.

All in all this show was undoubtedly the BEST G&R show that I have been to.  The crowd was captivated and Axl gave a top notch performance.  To be able to give a performance like this at the age of 44 and run around and sing with such pure unadulterated passion and control is highly impressive.  Axl's stage presence, singing abiity, and overall charisma are a huge reason G&R became so damn succesful and the new line-up of muscians more than hold their own.  The 5 leaked/new songs are current and original and if and when Chinese Democracy hits the stores the album will be a huge success.

Judging by the response of the crowds reactions and the overall energy of the night, the concert was more than a success, but a triumph of live performance.

Well, I start off by getting there about 8:16 - just in time for the end of the Suicide Girl's. The blonde one who said that she LOVED MPLS was pretty hot. They ended their show.

About 10 to 15 minutes later, Sebastain Bach and his band came out. They were fuckin' amazing, Bach's vocal's kicked hella ass, and he mentioned that last time he was in Minneapolis, he was Jesus Christ. He also said he's been waitin' 10 years to come back and play the Target Center. I've got a small video clip of one of his songs on my phone. One of the highlights of his set was the Myspace/Youtube rant. He goes on to say that the song they're going to play next has like 350,000 views on youtube. And then goes on to say 'your tube, his tube, her tube, my tube, She doesn't have a tube, but I've got a tube, you want my tube?'. Audience responded very well.

Then, after Bach's set, Tyler and I went and walked around the venue, I went out for a couple smokes n' then I have a homeless black man two bucks, just 'cause I was in a good mood tonight. Went back inside, and Helmet started playing, they sucked. So we just walked around, I got my poster. It kicks mucho ass. Helmet finished about...I'd say 11:15 - and according to Event Staff, they're suposed to end at 11:10, so that wasn't bad.

Next, Gn'R flag backdrop raises to the top and the wait begins. About 10 to 15 minutes later I see Frank backstage drumming on some pratice pads. And, see Robin's Guitar tech tune the guitars. And then, the intro music starts! The whole crowd is on their feet and pumped. They start playin' the Welcome To The Jungle teaser, and then Axl comes out, D'ya know where the fuck you are! The crowd erupted. They break into It's So Easy, Mr. Brownstone, and Live And Let Die. The pyro was...stunning, the heatwave that rushed over the crowd was so warm and toasty. Almost like a blanket fresh outta the dryer.

Anyways, after that they played Better, which from the few rows in section 129 that I was able to hear, no one knew the song but me and the drunk man sitting next to Tyler. Then Robin's out for his first solo, and man, I don't know about the rest of the Center, but my section was LOVING it! No one was sitting, no one was doing anything but enjoying it, well, the guys behind me were smokin' a bowl. Anyways, Robin runs backstage, and from my seat - I could see almost everything goin' down - Robin's tech handed him the Les Paul, and I shouted Sweet Child, and then Robin took it away, I think the people I was around were suprised that I was able to know what's comin' up next.

And, right along into Knockin' On Heavens Door we go, the whole fuckin' place seemed like it was singin' along. I think the highlight of this song, was when Axl said we've got one more left, and then went into knock, knock, knockin' on heavens door. That whole segment, from where I was, the vocals were 100% spot on, I almost choked on my cigarette. Then, Frank started pounding away the drums for You Could Be Mine. The pyro was warming once again (as I'm sittin' here freezing).

Anyways, The Band starts to jam, so I knew The Blues was next. Once again, I was the only sober person near me that knew the song and was all the way into it. I turned to Tyler and I was like, watch Axl's goin' to get on the Piano in about 20 seconds, I no longer got done saying that, and sure as shit, there he is! Then another lil' mini jam, and then Down On The Farm. Man, the crowd was so fuckin' into it, it was surreal. Perhaps the best song of the night for me, since I've been wanting to see it since they played it this year. After Down On The Farm came the band introduction and then Richard came n' did his solo, and then Robin came out and they had their nightly duet. That was kickass, once again, very few people sitting here also. Then they broke into 'Out Ta Bite Me'. At the end, Axl was like 'they can't bite me'. It was funny, so I yelled 'fuck the swedish police' and I don't think anyone knew what I was talkin' about. Then out came the piano once again, for November Rain. Axl did a lil' solo, and then went into the song. At the end, after they put the piano Axl threw something into the crowd, and put his rings back on. Through out the show however, I saw Beta grooving n' having a great time (Please tell the band thanks for the great show, Beta!)

Here my review-

I got there at around 6:45, before the place was open. We parked in my dads spot beneath his work, and walked from there to the Target Center. There were plenty of people in line to get in first (probably 200), but right when we got there, they annouced that the two gates to the right were open, so my friend and were about 5th and 6th in that line. We got in and sprinted full speed to where they sell the shirts. We both got there, bought a shirt, and then sprinted into the place. When we walked in, the whole first row was full, and there were about 2 more rows towards the center. We went right inbetween the far right and the center, first row. We waited there for about 15 minutes until the lights dimmed.

A band from St. Louise, Modern Day Zero's, came on. The singer did a good job pumping everyone up. They had a good drummer, and two great guitarists. I dident like the voice of the singer though, just wasent my style of music. Anway, they played a good 5 songs and said there goodbyes.

Suicide girls came on next. They danced to some popular songs (Hells Bells, Black Betty, ect). Seemed like most of the crowd was enjoying it. They did a scene on the right side about 3 feed away from me. One girl god ducttaped and tied to a chair, and the other was "tortureing" her. They got almost completly nude, exept they had a little black "X" over there nips. They were really flexible, and pretty good dancers. They sprayed water on all of us to, so that felt good. My overall rating ====drooling eek unibrow

We waited another 15 minutes, and then Baz came out. He was on FIRE!!! He talked to the crowd a bunch, dedicated a song to the troops, ect. He played all the Skidrow greats like 18 and Life, I Remember You, Youth Gone Wild, and Monkey Business. He also played some new song that he said was on YouTube and his Myspace. Overall, Bach did and awsome job pumping up the crowd, and his voice was fantastic!

At around 10:00, Helmet came on. They played Unsung first, and I thought it was great, but the lead singers voice sounded nothing like on the album. It seemed like they kept playing the same thing over and over agian, very repitive. I got pretty bored of them after 10 minutes. They got off stage around 11:00 or 11:15.

Another half hour rolls by, then it goes pitch black and you here "YOU KNOW WHERE THE FUCK YOU ARE!, and the place explodes! Everysang along with Welcome to the Jungle, it was insane.

Axl's voice was unbeliable. He was spot on all night long, full strength. I don't think he ever missed a note! He made the crowd go nuts! He did the usual running back and forth, spinning, and his dance. Axl is one of the best frontmen in rock ever. It is so worth buying a ticket to listen to this guy, just incredible.

Robin Fink played most of the leads. He did great! At one point, he lost a pick and had to play without one, and his finger got pretty bloody. There was blood all over the guitar..A string also broke and bubblefoot ran in to do the solo. Fink was very into his music. He got the crowd sucked in with his moves. I got eye contact from him at least 3 times, and two in a row, he looked directly at me (i'm 14), and gritted his teeth and smiled for at least 3 seconds, then he flicked a pick, but it fell to the ground, but the guard picked it up and gave it to my friend (right next to me), and my friend then gave it to me (he dosent play guitar). Anyway, I have a new guitar idle! Plus at the end during Paradise City, he jumped down the stage RIGHT AT ME! ALl the people in front reached out and touched his guitar/him.

Bubblefoot's solo was incredible. It was don't cry mixed in with his own type of jazzy/bluessy thing. Like somebody eles posted, "Slash would be Jeleous". Throughout the concert he put on quite a show. I have no idea how he plays when he's moving around like he dose. Its great. He also jumped down at the end and let everyone touch his guitar, witch some people tried to grab and take until security game in.

Richard- Not much to say about him, exept his solo was incredible. He made eye contact with me multiple times, and his guitar was pretty cool. He is a great guitarist, and fits in perfectly with the band.

Dizzy did an awsome job on the keyboard/piano. My dad (great piano player) was insanly impressed with his piano solo. He has a hell of a lot of skill with the keys. Him and Axl get along perfectly.

Ferrer did a great job on the drums, but I dident really get to see him at all.

My favorite songs of the night were Jungle, Mr. Brownsone, LALD (awsome fire on this song), Sweet Child O' Mine, YCBM, Night Train, Paradise City, well hell, it was all great. Baz and Axl nailed My Michelle. Axl's voice overpowered Bachs, but they were still both increidble.

I got THE BEST cell phone pics you will ever see. They look great, but when I enlarge them they probably wont be so hot. I don't have the software to put the pics on the computer right now, but i'll download when I find it. I also have one of Fink looking directly into the camera, and one of the whole band "Modern Day Zero" holding they beers up to me in the crowd.

Anyways, The Band starts to jam, and then Dizzy started Angie, so I knew The Blues was next. Once again, I was the only sober person near me that knew the song and was all the way into it. I turned to Tyler and I was like, watch Axl's goin' to get on the Piano in about 20 seconds, I no longer got done saying that, and sure as shit, there he is! Through out the show however, I saw Beta grooving n' having a great time (Please tell the band thanks for the great show, Beta!)

After throwing something into the crowd, Axl then busted into I Feel Good. That was a shocker, since it hasn't been played since Rock In Rio. Personally, since I'm a huge Door's fan, I'd rather of heard Light My Fire, but this was an amazing suprise. Then, after I Feel Good, Used To fuckin' Love Her started, the few rows by me once again erupted. Love Her ended, and then Ron took it away with IRS. Yet again, I was the only sober person in the rows by me that knew the song word for word. The very long 'true' scream, totally owns. I know I've said IRS is too cliche, but live, brings it some justice in my opinion.

And, Mr. Ron Thal came up and did his shreding and then Don't Cry. After, Axl introduced Bach once again, for My Michelle. Baz totally owned! I really loved it, and it was just pure magic, Baz reminds me of a lil' kid on coke though how he's always running around, but the man is a great asset to any band, he's got the livly hood new age Rock n' Roll is missing. The 'get up n' go' attitude. Next, Frank did a lil' drum jam, and then blew straight into Rocket Queen. The guys behind me went nuts! They were talkin' about it before the show started, and sure as shit it was played. To be honest, it brought a tear to my eye. Rocket Queen's a very personal song for me, and I was suposed to be there with my girlfriend, but she couldn't attend. It made me kinda sad not to share that moment with her, but it was alright, I was just glad they played it. And they went into Patience. Gotta love the drunk bimbos about 3 rows behind me singing more off key then anything I've heard before. But, the song was great once they shut up. Went through a pack of smokes by this time, and was on my second pack.

Then, Axl grabed the train whistle, and signaled for Nightrain! Man, was I ready to crash and burn, the vocals were fucking surreal. He was spot on, easily better then any bootleg I've ever heard (I've got every audio show out there so I know what I am talking about). This performance blew the shit outta the water compared to any other performanced of it, old or new. At the end of the night, Axl goes 'Good fuckin' night' and walked off stage. By this time throughout the show he's blown his nose twice. After that, everyone was wondering what was going to be next, so I'm shouting Chinese Democracy for a minute or two, and then Robin came on and started the intro to it. I jumped back up 'cause I sat down because my back was killing me and I needed to crack it. Yes, again, I was the only person in the rows that I could see/hear that knew the track word for word. Then, right after Democracy ended, straight into Madagascar. Pitman kicked major ass on this track. And then, Paradise City came! Everyone and their mom's was singing along, it was so fucking fun. Then the confetti cannons went off, and the pyro/fireworks show. The songs ends and they walk off stage, and then came back and took a bow. Then they walked off stage again, and Axl came back again and said that he had a good fucking time and Tommy came up and said that he had a great time also, and that it was great to be home, or something to that effect.

I made eye contact with Robin, Ron and Axl a few times. Loved the bit where Axl spoke about our weather up here, I don't fuckin' blame him. Loved the suprises of DOTF and UTLH. Totally dug Beta dancin' to Better, that was fuckin' awesome!

Yes - Robin did run backstage for a new guitar. I was on the side of the stage where his guitars were at.

Hey, were you in the group of people that tried to come down next to the stage at the end of the show?  That was funny. I know you were in the same section as me, thats why I asked.  Man I thought my seats were perfect, right next to the platform.

I walked down after Axl n' Tommy came back out n' then the security dude yelled at me and I started snappin' on him and shit. I had a white shirt with Axl's sketch on it and a leather jacket on, it must've been about 45 seconds after Axl walked off stage. I went down the right staircase.

Were you about 6 feet tall, short brown hair, blue t-shirt/jeans, sitting right by 2 older woman?  If you were, then I say you got to get highfives and stuff from Baz and some other guys.  I was the kid on he floor that got the drumstick

Haha, I didn't see that hub bub, I had aisle seats on the left staircase. People tried to walk down the aisle during the encore and there was a big hub bub with security.

We had to kick out some boobs that took our seats when we got to the venue at about 11pm. Some chick security guard with a mullet told us that we had to kick them out ourselves, that kind of pissed me off because the people where drunk as hell, you'd think security would ask them to leave. Plus, we had seats in row 4 & 5, so when some of my group left go get beer, people would keep coming down and sitting in our seats. ?Thank god the buddy I was with is like 6'4" 275lbs and he would play the tough guy role and get them to move. ?Then I would play peace maker. ?People taking our seats was the only shitty part of the whole night. ?

I am about 6ft, had a blue t-shirt on (I love hot moms).? But that wasn't me. I did not get any high fives. The people in the 1st row did get to shake hands with axl though, lucky fuckers. The best we got was Ron pointing to us during his don't cry solo, because we were singing the words as loud as we could.? God bless anyone that was on the floor, man it looked like a major mosh pit in some parts.

Oh, I did yell hi to beta and waved at her, she waved back! That was pretty cool too.

First concer I have ever gone to period and wow I will definately see GNR again. I have watched concert vids for 5 years and I was so excited when that first note of WTTJ was played. It was like surreal, after watching it so many times on my computer I was so shocked I was actually witnessing it in person. It was kind of lame though that I was one of the only people in my area that new the lyrics to the new songs.

I didn't. Either did anyone else that read this, no one agrees with him at my house, or anyone I know from School, etc that read it.

This is what I left on the blog;
Chris, that review was the worst thing I have ever read. Were you drunk at the show? Much less alive in 1986? That was Axl Rose, and people like you are the reason Axl hates the press. You print lies and totally disrespect the fans that paid their hard earned money to go and watch their band perform for them. 9000+ people at the show, and you?re the only knobhead that think that was not Axl Rose. Your review reminds me of something that I would of read in the national enquirer. I can?t believe that the Star Tribune actually wasted paper to print this today, much less employ someone who doesn?t know a thing about the band/concert that you were supposidly reviewing. What was the basis for this ?review?? Are you just pissed off that Axl didn?t rant about the press like he used to back in ?91? Or is it just more so the fact that Axl made more money last month then you?ll ever make in your lifetime? Email me if you?d like a real review of Saturday?s events.

I honestly am extreamly upset with Star Tribune once again, for printing this utter rubbish!

Well, what I got out of the review:

If you were expecting the reputed  "asshole" axl rose, he did not show.

The reviewer also gave props to the new songs...."those songs were where Rose's Bud really pushed himself vocally, almost as much as the real Axl did back in 1991"

Here's my take on the show which I already posted in the reviews section....mine's a bit more drunken and I have to admit I forgot some parts of the show until I read your review...(that James Brown part was so cool)....anyways, here it is....

The show last night was awesome!! It was a roller coaster marathon of rock n' roll that had me exhausted when I walked out of the Target Center at 2:15 am. I already was nice and buzzed up when the show started at around 8:00 with the Suicide Girls doing their show which was actually pretty sweet  ....3 beers and a joint later, Sebastian Bach takes the stage and gets the almost sell out crowd rocking. This guy hasn't lost a thing in 20 years. I was really impressed with his whole show, especially "Youth Gone Wild". 2 more beers and another joint...things start to get fuzzy...Helmet takes the stage and after hearing the first two songs, I decide they kinda suck and decide to stock up on beer and food. While waiting in line for an overpriced sub, some dude comes up and comments on my GNR shirt, the shirt I got in Vegas on their first show back way back on 01-01-01. He asked if I was on the boards at all and I thought that was cool. Always good to see another fanatic. Keep on rockin whoever you were. I get back to my seat just intime to see the last two songs of Helmet. I thought their show was kinda sucky and I think most of the crowd agreed. The most exciting part of that was the fight that broke out right behind me. I saw some dude get punched and fall forward 2 rows of stairs. Then 2 chicks start pushing and shoving. I hadn't seen a catfight in a while, so I thought that was pretty cool. 11:37 the lights dim and the opening riff of "Jungle" bellows throughout the Target Center. The crowd explodes as Axl screams "Do you know where the fuck you are?!?!" The first 5 songs of the show (mostly off Appetite plus "Live and Let Die" were unbelievable...The energy was amazing and I'm surprised Axl's voice sounds awesome...considering he's been sick and shit. The first guitar solo starts and drags on far too long. I notice some Jimi Hendrix in the solo which was pretty cool. After this is when things really get fuzzy. I remember Sweet Child O' Mine starting and I can't help but think that I miss Slash. The solo at the end of the song breaks out and I don't miss Slash anymore, this band rocks the shit out of the song and gets the crowd right back into it. Then the ballads start, the beer and weed slap me in the face and I feel the momentum being dragged down again. I look around and everybody is holding up their cell phones. Axl comments that it looks like a christmas tree in there. Then a piano solo, I think I heard "Angie" that was pretty cool. "November Rain" and "The Blues" come on and the crowd was loving it. The next part of the show was so fucking sweet!! GNR rocked the shit out of "Down on the Farm" and once again, I'm in awe of the overall crowd response. Then came another long drawn out guitar solo...these things were cool in their own way, they just killed the momentum for me. I start to look for water, and get angry I can't find any. Maybe I shouldn't have drank that last beer. Then they picked it back up with "Out ta Get Me" and "You Could be Mine" which were simply amazing. I think to myself this was money well spent. I think the band went into another little jam and I get excited this should be the last little break in the show. Wow, i'm drunk...why'd I drink that last beer? The crowd gets rowdy as they pump through "My Michelle" with Baz (which was awesome) and Nighttrain and walk off stage. After about 2 minutes of the crowd going insane the boys come back onstage with "Chinese Democracy" The pyro was awesome as waves of fire went back and forth behind the band. The crowd went nuts and I was surprised to hear alot of people singing along. "Madagascar" was next and the crowd plateaus through this song in anticipation of "Paradise City". Once PC starts the crowd explodes again. I hear axl going nuts and I can't believe how good his voice sounds. The band played so well together, I couldn't believe it. Compared to the band I saw in Vegas in 2001, it was like night and day. It's like a whole new band now. They played better together, there was more energy, and they blew my mind. After Paradise City concludes with a hail of confetti, explosions, and fire. I have never heard the Target Center so loud in all the shows I've seen there. I apologize, everything was a blur for me, so I might have mixed up the order in the show or something. There were a couple other really cool parts but I can't remember right now. My body aches and I have a nasty hangover. I'm gonna go take a nap.

Everyone;

http://www.startribune.com/457/story/851386.html

Email tickets.com and let them know about this and state you want your money back. Let's get this dude outta the reviewing biz. This man shouldn't have a fuckin' job. I'm doin' it now. (Even though I know it was Axl...but still) That review is completely full of shit!

I thought it was a postive and creative review.  The pioneer press review was straight up bullshit though.

I didn't. Either did anyone else that read this, no one agrees with him at my house, or anyone I know from School, etc that read it.

This is what I left on the blog;

Do you really believe that he thought that wasn't Axl? I would be willing to bet you are the only person on this site that couldn't see the point of that review.

No but still, that review was a total waste of webspace and paper they printed it on. A few radio stations picked up on this and actually thought it wasn't Axl..

I got a bunch of shit to say. First of all. Axlander I saw your sebastian bach video on youtube...good shit. I was in section 130 row J I had the appetite shirt on and a hat with a clover on it. I was pretty drunk, but mingling with the whole crowd. I didn't think a lot of people knew don't cry when they heard it so i started singing it. Then i started dancing with the old lady for the last 20 minutes. I was 1 of 2 people leading the attack down the stairs when both the security guards came after us. We were gonna try and jump onstage, but oh well. Detox/Jail woulda been worth meeting Axl. Second of all I called that chris faggot from star tribune today and reemed his ass out...he said it was all a joke and dadadada, but he's an ass so fuck him. He wouldn't let me talk to his supervisor about it haha. Anyways....

If anyone else was on the isle of section 130/129 let me know if u saw me or reckognize me by my description.....it was a FUCKING GREAT concert. 10 times better than the one in 02' and i can't wait for them to come back.

Did you get to shake axl's hand? I saw him do that to the people in the front row.

The star trib review of the show is really bringing the morans out of the woodwork. Today, KFAN radio's PA & Dubay show actually speculated on whether or not it was an axl impersonator at the show. Both hosts start out by saying GNR is garbage (they play michael mcdonald and hall & oats as bumper music, so their opinion is automatically devoid anyway).Their producer/intern went to the show but he could not verify whether it was axl or not because he said he wasnt a big guns fan, so he could not tell.

I sent them a kind, but stern email clarifying that it was Axl at the show and the review was only creative spin.  I included a reminder in the email to stick to sports talk, since both are open fans of hall & oats.

Amazing, one review with a little ironic spin to it and it flies over peoples heads.

I personally think the Strib review was positive towards GnR, Axl's attitude, the new songs, etc.  People need to chill out a little bit.  A review is one person's perspective on what he saw.  They are not living and dying with GnR or any other band they go see.  LIGHTEN UP!  ;D
