i suddenly feel old.........
My gnr collection started with vinyl, in 1988, AFD original as gift from my grandparents, i was 11.........

Had lots of lp's allready, but, then i got into GNR some more, now, not so much anymore, still collect the vinyls, but listen more to my older love, Heavy-Metal.............

Anyway, a "my-collection" topic could be nice?

It's kinda hard to see but:

At the left there's a frame with pictures and tickets from 2006

On the upper shelf from left to right: dvd's, singles, 2 mini books, vhs and a model guitar.
On the lower shelf bootleg cd's from 86-2010.

On the wall to the right I have the banned appetite fro destruction and uncensored gn'r lies framed.

I also have some books but not on this picture :)

There's my chinese democracy collection (and above it other gn'r albums).
I also have chinese democracy framed with an golden disc next to it, but don't have a picture of that..

Oh, and I have a big ass 2006 touring poster:

edit:
I actually do have a picture of chinese democracy framed:

I just bought a new bootleg cd to add to my collection... i thought the cover was really cool and marks the infamous "Leak era".

Its funny how much of an impact the "Leak Era" had on the media, bootlegers and of course even the band!

Its certainly a mark on Guns N'Roses history, whether its for the negative or positive. Anyways heres the bootleg:

Im sorry for the quality of the pics, but the material on the digipack is not the best, and it seems to get worse everytime i put a different flash.

I love looking at other peoples GN'R collections, it's amazing just how much is out there. I have an impressive collection myself, but the things that mean the most to me are the items I have collected travelling to see GN'R. Like ticket stubs, confetti, Robins Bottle, t shirts, Keyrings and other various items from the country I may have visited.  ;)

Nice stuff guys.  : ok:

i still have my ticket stub from 06 + red and white confetti part....lost my blue piece :(

I held that confetti stuff a couple of times, wondering if I should keep it or not.. I ended up throwing it away :)

I held that confetti stuff a couple of times, wondering if I should keep it or not.. I ended up throwing it away :)

Haha.

But also I like to keep all of my recordings and photos, like what I have taken on my Nokia N70 (Good Quality). Each GN'R show I have attended, I have a folder with all the video and photos I had taken. I have backed them up by disc, and also by uploading them online. I plan on getting a USB stick and also an external hardrive sometime in the future.

I think it's a nice thing to do on top of collecting tickets, t shirts and various other things.  :)

I only take a few pictures every gig, I try to enjoy the show as much as I can ;) But I do hope somebody bootlegs every show. It's indeed very nice to have recordings from a show you attended :)

I have both cds. Of the roots of Guns N Roses, they're both worth buying. its not as good as the rapidfire demos but its really cool. I love how the songs were played so fast. Love shadow of your love, never understood why they left this song out of lies.

Title: Re: My GNR Collection!
Post by: Halo69 on May 05, 2010, 04:33:31 PM
15 bucks each.

Axl of evil is a bootleg with Rock in Rio 2006, Santiago 1993, vmas 2002 and Paradise city from the wembley stadium 1992.

The other bootlegs i have in the picture are:

Santiago 1993 - features the whole Santiago show tv source and it brings 8 songs from The mYriad Arena show in Oklahoma in 1993.

GNR 2006 - Features Rock in Rio 2006 and Rock am ring 2006

Guns N'Roses Welcome to destruction - Features the infamous Riot Gig in St.Louis 1991, the show and the post riot, and it brings a report written on the inside of the cover, explaing what happened.

so you know the rapidfire demos?  :hihi:

about the "INGLEWOOD 07.30 - 02.08.1991 - SHADES RECORDS"-discs:
the taper was so nice to torrent quality transfers from his masters on DIME some months ago, and those are the best quality sources we will see (AND FOR FREE!!). all other copies, pressed with nice covers or what ever are just lower quality rip offs from the masters and cost you money.

its unfair for the band you're fan from to even consider making money with unauthorized recordings of them, dont ya think?
but i see that you fall into the "i-dont-care-about"-category supporting bootleg sellers.

Title: Re: My GNR Collection!

I don't support bootlegs sellers,
bootlegs for me it's a passion but if in a future I will need some money I can sell them as other people do with their collections.
A lot of post here are about selling collections...

Yeap! They're awesome, they were gonna come out in a cd, but they didnt win the court case, so they tried to leak it but they werent able to and they gave it to one guy who eventually sold those demos to me and i believe 2 or 3 more people.

bullshit!

from 5/2007:

"Dear Axl fan,

I hope this answers your questions.

I an sorry for the huge delay in releasing the Rapidfire 1983 Demos.

My attorney has been working with Axl's attorney for some time now trying to come out with a way to release these demos which is acceptable to Axl.

Regardless though of what he wants, the law states that I can release these at any time and have the full legal right to do so. Because at one time (and if I ever spoke to him now) I considered Axl a friend, I am trying to work beyond the scope of my legal rights with him, out of my respect and admiration for him. Regardless though, if in the future he chooses not to cooperate, the CD will come out commercially. Once again I am sorry to all of you for the delay, but the legal process moves very slowly.

Thank you for your e mails and patience. Please scroll down and send me an e mail if you would like to receive an e mail when this releases.

Sincerely, Kevin Lawrence"

Well thats what iv been told by the guy who sold me the songs. and i do believe my source. Otherwise they would have came out by now.  Nonetheless the tracks are great and whats amazing about them, is the quality of such old songs being perfect! It seems like a new album that just came out in 2010 or something

No im not authorized to share demos, whether its the rapidfire demos or cd era demos or whatever.
I spent thousands on them and i gave my word

Title: Re: My GNR Collection!
Post by: Limulus on May 07, 2010, 09:50:40 AM
so you just cant back it up!
a small snippet (with Axl singing) is not like sharing a whole song. you openly speak about them and also say you've paid thousands(!) for but refuse to do like a 20sec-sample? dont know you but what i know for sure is that the gnr fan community had to deal with similar things over the last ~9 years often and it mostly turned out not being for real. so....without any sample, too hard to believe, sorry.

I understand what you're saying, but you asked and i answered. I dont need anyone to believe me.
Im very happy with what i have but im not gonna share it. First because im not authorized to do so, then because i gave my word and also because its illegal to put them on the internet.Im just keeping it to myself. Dont have anything to prove to no one and dont need to...

i only asked because you decided for whatever reasons to talk about in the first place (see your quote ^^above). common thing for rare stuff like that, huh?
about the illegal thing....well, its not officially released so i dont see that point at all.

but yeah, here we go again: "i have this and that but am unwilling to prove anything"....

Title: Re: My GNR Collection!

so what if i mentioned it? does it mean i have to explain myself to you... i dont owe a damn thing to anybody and if i decide not to share it, its my decision and my choice.
I dont owe you or anybody and i certainly dont need the approval or for you or anyone to believe me.
Im sorry dude, im not trying to be harsh, but i have my reasons

Title: Re: My GNR Collection!
Post by: Limulus on May 07, 2010, 11:02:56 AM
as easy as that:
you talk about things nobody here seems to have and how great they are -> people get interested in and ask some details!

and then you seem to get pissed and refuse to create samples. as said before, gnr fan community had this stuff a lot before so we're kinda used to it.

now what about giving some other details, for example complete lyrics to one of those songs or so?
let me guess: "i'm also not allowed to do this, i'm not to allowed to give out any closer info at all, i gave my word, and off course i dont owe you anything! but the demos are outstanding!!"
if thats the case (and i'm hell sure it is again!) you're just one more of these talkers and chances are very very high you're not having the items described.
its not hard to prove something you do have but its hard to prove something you dont have.

Cotis, this is what  "Halo69" said about the (original eight-track-format) demos from May 25, 1983 he secretly bought for thousands ( ;)) of dollars:

...Nonetheless the tracks are great and whats amazing about them, is the quality of such old songs being perfect! It seems like a new album that just came out in 2010 or something

so they are sooooo fucking awesome but no more info allowed because he/she doesnt owe us anything. but they are killer

i'll quote myself again:
its not hard to prove something you do have but its hard to prove something you dont have.

I dont mind answering, i hope the conversation doesnt drag up from here like it did in previous posts.
Anyways the quality to me are quite amazing considering they were demos from such a long time. They sound kinda like the greatest hits album remasters, but the songs themselves sound like the songs in Lies.

this kinda hurts, cause i could have bought most of these bootlegs 2 or 3 years ago.however at that time i wasnt really interested in them cause i could just download them. I even saw some of those big boxes.

I might just go to my store, and they have 2 bootlegs now that i might be buying. The reason i didnt was because of the sound not being that perfect

So, I love bootlegs and I'm willing to pay for them but now it feels wrong because I see some guy sharing his stuff online and next thing you know it's up for sale with a pretty cover, pressed on a silver cd. I don't mind buying old bootlegs, that's cool, but buying NEW bootlegs of OLD shows - that's just rip off.

about buying bootlegs I prefer The old show with the original line-up,
I don't like new shows..and I rarely listen to new "Gn'r"

the reason i only get boots on vinyl. Ok, some are made multiple times, like the ritz, and a lot have poor quality, but they are harder to make, so more rare and, well, vinyl just does it for me.
However, now, it's only the good shows, quality wise i want, most of the rest is gone allready, sold through to other collectors. but, then again, they still know they have the real thing, not a copy or so.....

I hear you, that's why I bought a new (purple) vinyl called "Unplugged" with a shitty cover art and a lousy sound - even though I have an old school KTS cd with the same shows : /

How's the quality of those bootlegs (the inglewood series from shades records). Since we're talking about bootlegs "original masters" doesn't say anything. I have those shows but the quality isn't that great.. And since one of those shows has an amazing setlist I'd love to get my hans on one with b+ or higher quality :)

They have the same quality of "Revolution Calling" Bootlegs

I went Shopping today and for 35 bucks i got these 2 bootlegs!

Guns N'Roses - Parental Advisory Explicit Content Bootleg

Guns N'Roses - Bad Obsession Bootleg

I also found 2 Vinyl bootlegs, one was called "Nightrain to Nowhere" and it was basically the Ritz 88 Show on Vinyl, and the other one was called "Wild Horses" and it was basically a compilation on Vinyl of all the covers GNR did in the 1987 - 1993 era.

For those who collect Bootlegs, do any of these Vinyl releases worth something?

Both.

Bad Obsession cost me 20 bucks and the Parental Advisor one cost me 15 bucks.
I buy it at a store close to my house. Sells pretty cheap silver bootlegs. "Nightrain to Nowhere" was there for 15 bucks. And they had a bootleg called skin and bones or something, but the bootleg has the same stuff i already have on another cd.

My WANTED list of Bootlegs now :

- Banzai card sleeve
- A good bootleg of Paris 1992
- Ritz 88
- Argentina 1993
- Unwanted Illusions (i could have bought this a while ago  :crying:)
- Rock in Rio 3
- Rock in Rio 1991

If anyone has any of this silver cds bootlegs and wants to sell them ill be more than happy to buy them at a fair price!  : ok:

why say he has them and then refuse a sample?......thats not how things work where i come from  : ok:

live like a suicide on cd is a bootleg too.....

the Live EP is an official cd, rare, but out there to grab. The bootleg cd of LLAS is very rare though

Japanese 3 inch cd in normal jewel case, think Tim has it on his site?

Yeah im probably not gonna be able to get those 2. The live from the jungle ep is very expensive in my opinion, i have the cd downloaded and the tracks there are not worth spending 100 euros on it.

I would give in maximum 55 euros for the Live from the Jungle EP so im probably not  getting it.

The live like a suicide ep boot, i would probably give 60 or 65 euros but not more than that either. So those two.. are like.. if they come around close to that price ill buy it if not.. oh well

The Live Ep i have on vinyl and cd, cd was for sale, prices went close to 100, then i realized, damn, so, now, i have traded it instead, for some great Slayer Picture Discs and boots (9 in total)

I think about 50 euro for a good copy is a good price though, they are rare. The other one i think would be a lucky find in the first place, and for that price? i doubt it really.

Not that i am an expert, but i have been monitoring auction sites a few years now, and that shows up very little.

Well to be honest, i dunno anymore, there has been some complications. i told the lady who's selling that i would give 220 au dollars for only the signature cds of appet~ite, illusions and lies and the last american hero bootleg. and that would include postage.
and that i would buy the rest of the bootlegs i dont have next month for another 50 au dollars. Which to me seems like a great deal! But now the winning bid is for 174 au dollars, and im not sure if shes selling it for that price to whoever made the offer. I cant believe it, if she accepts that, Im giving much more money!

Also i told her i would buy the rest of the lot after, but she told me she had someone that was willing to give 150 au dollars for the rest of the lot and thats why she didnt sell it to me.

any more vinyls, those two are great ones to have, both rare indeed. The 44 caliber Horticulture i have in Black sleeve, that is more rare as the white one, but the white one looks better i think.

i am still not sure if that November Rain Picture Disc was sold separately, i only know it came with the box "Destruction, Lies, the Road to Illusion"

I have seen it being sold without that box, but not very often. So, either they were not very carefull with the boxes, put the poster on the wall and kept the cd's and sell the Picture Disc. As they were not that very expensive compared to other box-sets, that can be the case.

That Biloxi boot is cool you got 2 of them too, nice

Anyway, I have the Reflexion cd, it's good but I don't listen

Im gonna get all the gold australian signed cds and the last american hero 1991 for 155 euros aprox.

So you're the one who bought this?:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Signature-Edition-Guns-n-Roses-CDs-more-/120578053946?cmd=ViewItem&pt=AU_Audio_CDs&hash=item1c1303173a

Hmm so with Halo69 emailing this seller wanting to buy just the Gold Signature CD's what's the bet this seller shill bid their own auction but ended up winning it themselves.  I see that this has now been relisted at a much higher price ($280) with a buy it now option at $280:

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120584663631&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Halo69 you said you offered her $220 for the Signature CD's and $50 later for the balance - well what a surprise she lists the start bid on the new auction at $280 with a buy it now price of $280 too.  If I were you I would say screw you and not buy it.  It probably wont' sell and she will be forced to relist it at a lower price again.

Title: Re: My GNR Collection!

and seriously report this to ebay. They can try to figure out if there was any foul play here.

You could do with transcripts of your conversation with the seller too.

I have done something like that once too, and ebay did a great job in finding out what happened, the seller was banned, and my negative feedback (left by the seller) was removed by ebay.
People like this make the world not any nicer, right?

Naa... shes quite nice actually, iv been in contact with her. She didnt wanna sell it to the other guy so i told her she could re-list the item again (she didnt know how to do it). But when she did i already had bought other bootlegs, and couldnt afford to buy these. She's offering me the same price for the signature cds and the last american hero boot, 220 au dollars, the 280 dollars is for the whole lot.

But again, dont think im gonna be able to buy it now that iv bought something else, but we'll see :-\

i think its kind of expensive 220 for the signature cds and last american hero, since the whole package is not much different 280 dollars and it has more 8 cds or something to add. I still want the signature cds though and ill probably buy it if this is on until the 27th of this month, thats when i can pay...if it gets bought before that.. oh well...~

But im in permanent contact with her and we might be able to get a deal done. Obviously shes trying to get the best offer she cans, but basically thats what happen.
The other guy had an offer for 174 au dollars for the whole lot, and thats the winning bid, but she didnt wanna sell it for that price and didnt know she could reject it and re-list the item, so i told her she could do that, so she has done it in hopes i would buy it, but it took about 4 days for her to do it, so i thought she was gonna sell it for 174 au dollars anyways and i bought other stuff

Title: Re: My GNR Collection!

But there was no reserve price on the first auction, how can she just decide not to sell it to the guy?

But there was no reserve price on the first auction, how can she just decide not to sell it to the guy?

Basically because the guy couldnt pay it right away and i was offering more and right away. But then there were about 3 days when we didnt speak and i thought she had sell it already, so i bought 3 bootlegs which costed me about 60 euros, so thats why im not gonna be able to pay the 220 au dollars for the lot i wanted.

When a seller is not satisfied with the winning bid because its less than what u expect u can just reject and re-list the item and thats what she did, but its too late now unless she waits for the 27th of this month. If it lasts till that day i might buy it.

from a serious collectors point of view quality is everything in my opinion....
if i see an item in better condition than the one in my collection then i will buy it and then re-sell my origional one.

i agree you have to start somewhere, but why rush into buying an item when there is better available for the same money

to all this, yes and no.......

I have had many variations in stuff, 14 items on vinyl and cd of Sweet Child O' Mine for example (and i mean 14 copies of the same thing, not the variations in releases, variations in tracks on disc, counted). I have sold my cd's, and, most of the double i had on vinyl. My point was, why have 3 same versions, while only country of origin is the variation or the fact that is has a badge sealed with it?

my point here, a beat up copy of an item you are never gonna use, because you listen to cd or mp3 only (yes i know collectors who have many vinyls and no player for them) is just to have it, no matter the shape or condition really, just having it will do. : ok:

If you use the item in fact, it has to be good, sure, you want to hear it, feel it, look at it, then, yeah, perfect shape is a MUST

lots of point both ways.....
but in my mind as a semi rabid collector on my kicks, condition is everything....i don't buy the first best fucked up copy i find....sure if it's practically a give away then i might take it....if it's rare enough, but generally.....unless it's as close to mint as possible, i don't bother

whats the point in buying a beat up copy your never gonna play, and then buying a perfect copy to use

me personally, i collect in the best condition i can for 2 reasons. the first one is so my collection looks at its best and is the most original complete copy of each item.
but also there is a lot of money involved here, the better condition your collection then more value it holds if ever you need to re-sale certain stuff
like i said before whats the point in buying poor quality stuff when you can get better quality for the same money. you cant build a collection overnight like most guys on here think. ive been collecting GnR since 88' and im still buying stuff.

Yeah, too bad there's some items that you just have to accept in shitty quality due to their rarity.  But, as always, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I can get the Last American Hero with a friend new but the price is not so good, 90us   :smoking:

Hopefully this lady is legit, but I think that someone did something similar to me on eBay recently.  Will fill everyone in on the details soon.

no idea about rarity on this one....but here it is: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130400505639&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
german version apparently

Title: Re: My GNR Collection!
Post by: spookeend on June 24, 2010, 04:48:40 PM
as far as i know, they are all german, these box-sets. there are 2 versions, one with cd singles of November Rain, and one with the vinyl picture disc.
Still, i have no real info about this picture disc being sold without this box..... (new, nowerdays you can find the disc without the box)

The cd that comes with this set has the same image as the vinyl picture disc, and i think, again, it came only with this box too. It is also slightly more rare to get with cd. There seem to less sold with cd.
