Title: Rocksmith
Post by: IKnowWhereIAM on October 19, 2011, 07:38:47 PM
Didn't see anyone posting anything aboot this game...just got it, great for a beginner like myself, also a cheap way to get some different amps/effects.  Only problem is NO GnR (and audio delay with HDMI cable)!  At least not in the basic tunes provided with the game, and my PS3 is not on the net.

So to follow up, I am one of those people who bought a Guitar in HS and never progressed past what was sufficient to impress a particular chick...after a couple weeks of rocksmith, I actually know what some of the chords I have been playing are, and know a few more...getting better at no-look location of frets and other technical improvements...almost like I was taking lessons finally!  I find myself playing only Nirvana/Soundgarden - and trying to play VR - checking daily to see if there is any GnR DLC.  The basic tracklist SUCKS.

If you are new to guitar and want to learn - get this game! If you are already good - try it anyway!  'Teaching' games have a LOT of bugs...baseball game hardly ever recognizes 'bends' as being accurate, and sometimes completely misses played notes (yes - my strat-a-copy is set up perfect).

Having a blast with the amps/effects...always wanted some overdrive/distortion pedals - now I have those plus!

I gotta get around to checking this out. I have a Strat and a Les Paul and don't really possess the skills to deserve owning either. Something like this would help I bet.

I have bad news for you, brother.  You're unlikely to see GnR content on Rocksmith.

We all know how contentious it is to use the old stuff...AFD/UYI era stuff.  And the ONE time it sort of made it through...with Activisions GH series...Axl got burned.  And is now in the midst of a lawsuit (still) with them.

And Rock Band 3/Harmonix has (had?) exclusive rights to Chinese Democracy.
