"May/Pac the Free-Match," Rose wrote. "No injuries. No holding. No PPV," Rose wrote. "Boxing greats don't duck the fans."

This is rich.

Coming from a guy who's band sells meet & greet packages...just not with the one member of the band most people would want to meet & greet.

If he doesn't feel like doing that shit, hey, that's his prerogative.  But you might refrain from couching yourself as this great champion of fan outreach.

You don't want to meet Dizzy and Frank for $400?  :D

By 'don't duck the fans', I think he meant giving fans their money's worth for the actual fight/performance, not whether the boxers are shaking hands with fans, autographing a tit or posing for awkward pictures.

Nobody hypes the M&G as the M&G of the century.
People get what's advertised, unlike the match which was pretty boring....

Mr. Positivity.  : ok:

Maybe.

Still a topic he should probably avoid, just in general.

I've started to look very seriously at what I'm doing in that regard.  The process is ongoing.  When I have something to report, I'll report it.

This is how its always been.  I trust its ironic, in some way.

A topic that should be avoided? How about you for once managed to avoid voicing one of your trademark complaints? You just can't seem to not to.

And here I am pointing it out to you.  In case you think I don't notice your act. :P

A topic that should be avoided?

I certainly think so.

Axl should no more talk about respecting fans than he should punctuality.  Or I should talk about being a smartass.  Or you talking about having thick skin.

Glass houses and all that.  Man's got to pick his spots, if he wants to be taken at all seriously.

Well, you shouldn't take about me, period. But I guess it makes you feel all special thinking you've figured me out. Thinking you have some kind of effect on me besides the occasional giggles. :D

Like I said, Axl doesn't avoid topics, especially ones where it takes a special kind of negative smart ass to connect the dots.
"Oh no, he said something about not letting fans down but he does it all the time. I know because I read the Internet and I'm special, God damn it!".

 :hihi:

By the way, I'm pretty sure you condemning him for it makes you a hypocrite.
You've let many people down by turning up and posting here.... Things were going well and then you turned up, again.... :D

..."if he wants to be taken at all seriously".. : you have GOT to be kidding me? Axl Rose is a rock n'roll SUPERSTAR !!! The man has a legacy, he's been selling millions of records, he has toured the world like 12 times...

Respecting fans? The man has always put out FANTASTIC music. What more do you want?

Punctuality? Why do people never complain when he offers "encores" and does not finish the concert on time?

I'm pretty sure Axl will not lose any sleep over your opinion though, so it's not really that important.  :-*

We've already got a conversation going though.  You are probably better off just moving it, actually.

There was no real Axl hook anyway.  The boxing conversation started almost immediately

In fairness it was W. Axl Rose who started talking about boxing.

He tweeted several times about one match, that was a current event. He didn't discuss the careers of the fighters or anything relating to previous matches and so on.

He was tweeting, albeit jokingly, about a possible rematch. It is a bit hard to follow Axl's train of thought about a rematch without looking into Mayweather's career (he is 38 and has one contracted Showtime fight) while discussing hypothetical opponents - granted we did get diverted into comparisons between former boxers. It is topical, Axl is obviously interested in it: I do not see the problem.

I asked nicely, twice.

I'm not really looking for a debate whether or not you agree. I appreciate the feedback, but I'm not gonna ask nicely again.  :)

So why not post it in the news section where people can't post?

How much GNR centric discussion was their going to be about him posting about boxing if we, in fact, can't talk about boxing?

If you want to move it, move it.  We told you to move it.

And certainly can't recall any other time you were this allegedly concerned with our feelings on such an action.

Go right ahead.  I told you to do that a few posts back.

I certainly don't dispute your point they don't have anything to do with Guns N' Roses.

Alright then. If anyone wants to discuss who would win in a mythical battle, Joe Louis or Ali, I will see you in the sports section.
