Title: Attacks in Paris
Post by: jarmo on November 13, 2015, 06:01:17 PM
Horrible....

Quote
At least 40 people have been killed in multiple shootings in the French capital, Paris, and explosions near the Stade de France.

French media say at least 15 people have been killed near the Bataclan arts centre, where up to 60 people are reportedly being held hostage.

Reports suggest some spectators are fleeing the venue after police stormed it.

Three explosions were reported outside a bar near the Stade de France.

France were hosting Germany in a friendly and the match continued. It has now ended.

39 people killed at the moment

not that anyone care here, but I'm safe. hope the others french of this board are too.
Eagles of Death Metal played tonight at the Bataclan. I suppose the band is safe. wasn't there.

but there's at least two or 3 killers who took hostages there.
don't know how many but the venue (small one) was sold out, so...

anyway...we're at war

just go out for a few minutes to check the atmosphere and buy some food,
let's say there's something weird in the air, but people still live their lives.

This is one of those things that makes you sick beyond words.  You wish you could jump out of your chair and do something to stop it all, but you realize the most you can do is pray.   :(  My thoughts go out to the lives lost.

U2 also canceled their show that was to be shown on HBO too and will do it at a more appropriate time whatever that is. I mean what is a sufficient amount of time to wait after something this horrible?

Very scary. Never been to the Bataclan, but been past all those restaurants before. Quite surreal

I don't think there are any guidelines for it.  It's going to depend on the atmosphere at any given time.

It'll be at least a month for sure as they have other shows scheduled all through November. I'm sure the biggest reason they didn't go forward with the show was due to security concerns. Obviously at the time no one knew if it was over if more attacks were coming etc and a sold out show at the Becry would be a prime target.
