Nice shoes.

There's an article in Life Magazine (their Valentines Day Special, Weekend of February 11th edition) that features Slash along with other artists like Alicia Keys and those brothers from Good Charlotte. It's called "The Kids Are Alright (and the Parents Ain't Bad, Either)" and it just has them talking about their childhood, etc.
Unfortunatley I can't scan the picture of Slash in the magazine but it's a cool picture. It has Slash, his dad, and his mom sitting in a vacant lot where his apartment used to be in West Hollywood where he grew up.
I'll type out the article though....

Slash
Age: 39
Credits: His new hard-rock band, Velvet Revolver, is nominated for three Grammys.

Why are we not surprised to learn that as a child living in Los Angeles, Slash, the former guitarist for Guns N' Roses, was a self-described oddball? "I grew up in an artistic household," he says. "Lots of music, drawing; I wore holey jeans." By the time he was 13, his parents--Ola is a clothing designer, and Tony is a graphic artist--had seperated, and Slash turned his energy to hard rock. "My mom tried to keep me in school, but I quit in eleventh grade and soon after was living with the Guns N' Roses guys," he says. Still, his mom supported his musical ambitions. "When Guns N' Roses started playing, we'd have to sneak Slash into clubs because he was underage," she says. "One time, they were in L.A., and we dressed him up as a woman to get him in." When asked to be photographed with his parents (who are still seperated), Slash chose a now-vacant lot in West Hollywood, where the family shared a one-bedroom apartment in 1975. "It was the happiest place we ever lived," says Tony. "There was lots of love around."

The caption for the picture:
"We made the closet my bedroom," says Slash, who's holding a photo of himself and his dad taken inside their tiny, long-gone apartment.

Thanks Rhythm-n-Booze,

That story is heart warming, nice to see how supported his mother is.

Thanks,

Your welcome Jarmo Cheesy

I like this picture.  Look at Slash as a child and how he's posed with his dad and how he has his arm.

As an adult, he is posed the same way, but he's using his other arm.

Looks like they had a picnic.

Thanks for the pic insupportofaxl

His father is wearing the same converse type of sneaker as Slash does too.

Cool Pic,
