On the subject of Dizzy, this really kinda bugs me. The man has been in the band since 1990 and yet some people still say that he is not a real member, or Axls lapdog etc etc. At the end of the day people who say this. Axl wanted a bloody keyboardist in the band and asked Dizzy and he accepted simple as that!!! He is a fully fledged member and at least he has stuck around to see it all through instead of leaving. And what is his reward for that? He gets accused constantly of not being a real member of the band!
*applause*
"(Along with Paul,) the only man from the old lineup who stayed loyal and worked hard everyday is on the keyboards, Mr. Dizzy Reed. Well, so much for the past, this is Live 'n Let Die."~ Axl Rose, Rock in Rio III, 1/15/01
these are the same 'fans' who Axl spoke about at the Pepsi Arena on 11/27/01 "that's why these guys worked real hard at being in a band that they can get abuse for, because "they're the guys in the way of getting the old band back together."
Alot of these same fans include Matt "what's with the piano?" Sorum in thier calculation when they laud VR as "3/5ths of GN'R"
Other than Axl, Dizzy has been in Guns N' Roses longer than any other GN'R alumni.? The man deserves some respect from the fans.?
so lets stop with the Dizzy insults!?
and show a little Dizzy love!?
as for the thread topic... I don't care how much money they have. Slash and Duff's lawsuit against Axl and Matt's accusations that Axl has tried to screw hm out of royalties does make me believe however that they're pretty un-fucking-satisfied with whatever they've got. I'm glad that Axl has managed to keep his finances private.
What's more important than what any of the guys have in their pocket, I believe, is the contribution that Guns N' Roses has made to the industry in terms of revenue and employment. It's not the hundreds of thousands or millions even that they 'took away' from the UYI Tours for example, but all the people that were emplyed through their touring.
And most of the money spend on CD to date, I'm sure was by way of wages paid to engineers, technicians, and other studio hires... Think about how many meals CD has put on the table of those employed in its creation and production!
