Ex. Guns n' Roses manager Alan Niven speaks out through Metal Sludge again.

In response to doubters, cynics and jaundiced web white noise, yes, I did indeed author the statement concerning Scott Whyslam and his remarks about Mr Axl Rose.

The primary motive was to counter an ignorant and rude diatribe; no one ought belittle Guns n' Roses achievements or disparage their place in rock n'roll -number one is number one and 16,000,000 debut sales remain unmatched.

A secondary motive was to point out the obvious - time is now - and who wouldn't get off the Internet to see a reunion?

Concerning room chattering;

1. I am a vegetarian and consequently I am unqualified to be placed at McDonalds.

2. I write in caps because my eyes are full. I have seen nothing much more than a thieving world consuming its own children. Have we done nothing more than teach cannibals the use of cutlery? Is that all thats been learnt?

There is a higher ground, y'know, where the journey is the destination. And no one gets a free ride.

So my darling little webrats, try to think before you blab or blog.

Try to Imagine - love love and only love.

Alan Niven

We thank Alan for his input once again.

Metal Sludge
Use Sludge Illusion III

I for one am tired of Alan Niven's "input" - it only gives more fuel to the fire.  let them sort it out themselves - I don't think Axl needs you to be his monkey-boy. Back at you "webrat"

Everything he said makes sense.

why does he constantly knock weiland, I mean he sounds like a baby if that's him saying things each time.. Has scott ever done anything to him personally we don't know about?

He is only questioning why Weiland lashed out at Axl...Weiland did sound like a complete idiot. Compare Weiland's response to Duff's and even Slash's....oh wait, Slash didn't respond! Axl's comments were directed at Slash and were meant to discredit Slash....not at Weiland. Axl never said Scott was a fraud-he alleges Slash said it. Niven has been doing a few too many drugs though! Grin ps I am not backing Axl here, he should have never said those things in the press release.

I understand scott sounded stupid but what if scott asked slash and he said axl made this shit up, then axl would have been talking shit about scott.. I still don't know why niven cares.. If he thought scott's comments were childish then fine but he shouldn't hav esaid anything either

I don't understand why people care so much what this guy thinks, but I guess everybody's entitled to an opinion.....but he keeps bringing AFD into the conversation as Axl's claim to fame....

Here's a note to Allen "The people who worked with Axl are no longer in the band.  You can't compare AFD to an album that has been spoken and written about for years yet never heard.  And to say it'll be better is just asinine."

Go away.  You're fired again. yes

in regards of afd, niven probably knows better than you dude. considering that fact, he also knows better about axl`s contributions to that record than you.... ok

Psychologically, you could consider this a reunion tour because I`ve managed to find enough pieces of my mind in order to be with you here tonight - - Axl Rose, Chicago 2002

I would be surprised if Slash and Scott discussed Axl's comments at all, only because the one thing that struck me about Scott's response was that he came to Duff's defense ("how dare you call our bass player spineless") but was silent about Slash.  Why no "how dare you falsely attribute your comments to Slash" or something like that.

anyone is welcome to have an opinion on the recent statements and to air it - it's just that the way Niven phrases things is very patronising to read. ?Think before you blog?? ?Pisses me right off. ?and as for no-one getting a free ride?? Well - stop trying exactly that Alan!
Sure Scott sounded a little childish in his attack - but that's just it, he was verbally attacked, he was named in the statement and reacted accordingly. ?It's just not necessary for Niven to act in a position of authority here. ?I would take the opinions and thoughts from most posters on this board before Niven after this latest offering.

am right with you classicgunsfan ? ok

that could be very true, as I have said I'm still yet to know anything really happened.. It is possible he spoke to slash but is best friends with duff and decided to speak up for him.. I'm sure it was rage not some well thought out rant..

The way Alan regularly bashes Scott in his statements maybe hes trying to get back with GNR again. He still hasnt defended Slash and Duff even though he says he loves the old band and AFD.

In both statements, niven said something about Axl being the driving force behind AFD and it was the biggest selling rock debut  album of all time......

the point is.....

that was almost 20 years ago w/ a whole other band.....and didn't he get fired yes
