is an average of 9% over the next 10 years realistic? i haven't invested in the market/funds/401K in a few years, and i was under the impression that expectations for returns had declined a bit.
either way, i'd buy real estate.
I was just making a conservative investing example. The wallstreet average has been around 8-9 percent I'm quite sure (too lazy to search.) Of course there is 3 percent for inflation, operating costs, yada yada yada. But 9 percent is the average. Plenty of funds have averages in the teens for well over ten years.
I'd buy RE too, but it is a market like any other, it goes up and down. For me, I like both stocks and RE, they are win win in the
long haul. I pump as much money as possible into both, while keeping my living expenses low.
