Why is it that when someone has an opinion that you dont agree with you all shoot him down in flames?!?

AxlRose4eva - I thought your post had some valid points and its good to read an opinion other than 'Axl is God, IRS is better than Stairway to Heaven, the old band who wrote all the songs and were world renowned are shit'.

And as for those who say 'GnR is back and better than ever' Lol - you crack me up.

If I had 13 years, millions of pounds to hire and fire whoever I wanted then I could make an album and do a tour no worries. Axl is living mostly on past glories, but without the people who helped him create that glory in the first place.

He's not in Axl's corner, hes in the middle.

Axl needs credibility with his new band - thats why Izzy is there. Axl knows who people really want to see and he'll never get out of the shadow of the old band.....

Anyway, your post had nothing to do with what I was saying.

Glad I crack you up too. Didnt kow you had a sense of humour.

I actually do.lol , But serioiusly this  this all scamatitics.  And it comes down to the same point.

All of asudden you have a flash of new blood that claim to know exactly what GNR "should be".never seeing and in many cases not even born.

And others who have been through the entire cycle since the begining, lik emyself.

And others who come around in the mifddle and judge things by bootlegs and flac, mp3 and whatever .lol

All I can say  is WOW, CD will probablly be the biggest selling album of all time(mind you Im not saying the greatest), but who knows till we hear it.

BUt with all the pro and against post and peop;leclaining this and that  leads me to beleive whatever anyone thinks or says , at the end of the day AXL and GNR will previal.

So basically im saying evenb the haters and those who post crap will bye it, so look in a mirror I say and who is the fool!.lol Certainly not AXL

So my point is if ya wanna complain and bitch and you wanna see this incarnation fail your better off not posting, not saying shit cause as they say ............

better to be talked about then not.

Think about it/ lol and yes Im laughing my ass off now!

@ axlrose4eva1 :
you started your "rant" assuming that all of us only live for guns n' roses and all our life is this band. i bet that everybody on this board is doing this for fun. the world is not only gnr for us yes but it seems you gave a lot of thought into "the plan".
the cd is supposed to be worked on for 13 years. nobody knows that for sure. maybe axl sat on his ass from 94 till 99 for all we know. maybe he wrote songs just for the hell of it with no thought of releasing them.
nobody cares if gnr will get airplay on mtv/vh1. they're not the music station that they were 15 years ago. now they just play hip-tzop and emo crap and britney spears and their audience is 12-14 emo wannabees.
the guys in the band are not happy to be there? i'm sorry but have you been to a show in 2006? i mean a live one not watched rir over the net or some dvd's? and if they don't like it they could leave. i don't think axl is threatening them to put them in jail if they leave. they all had some bands and projects that were enough for them to make a living out of.
brain don't need to be with his wife? that's just low! wonder if your daddy was with your mommy when you were a little baby? wonder if you'll prefer going to court or be next to your loved one when she's due to give birth to your baby (assuming you are a guy).
axl is 44 and nobody will look up to him. funny thing is the stones still sell out stadiums, steven tyler still has succes, bon jovi sells out stadiums... oh, wait, they're all in their 20's
axl is no genius? maybe. but you still think that he wrote awesome songs
the album will do like the greatest hits. funny thing is that greatest hits sold a few million albums and you say that's bad. how many bands sell that many records. nobody says gnr will sell 20 million copies of cd. maybe some said it but it's called exagerating ok
and does it really matter when the songs were written? it matters who wrote them and if we will like it. i'm not gonna come here and say cd is good if i don't like it. i bought contraband and i listened it a few weeks but hat was it. as far as cd goes i like what i heard till now.

and don't put that much effort in tryin' to convince people there is no plan. maybe you're right. who gives a shit there's no plan. it's just music. "if it ended right now i'd be happy because i have the music that was put out". there is life after gnr you know? yes

the new gnr will be successful, granted not to the degree of 88-92. look at vr, if it wasn't for three former members of gnr being in that band, there is no way they would get the mediaattention and album sales they did.

Axl is an true musical artist ?and has a lot of guts to try to pull this all off. Who can you compare GNR to in 2006? Give the guy the benefit of the doubt.

He's not in Axl's corner, hes in the middle.

Very true. He has played live with VR too. It's on youtube.

I dont know how to make two quotes at a time so ill say this anyway. someone saeemed to say they had the VR album for a few weeks but were'nt that impressed. Thats the way with many "splinter" kind of bands. The dont represent the real talent of the individual members. they are effectively less than the sum of their parts. Of course thats just my subjective experience, based on bands who splintered from or were side projects from members of bad religion, rem, nirvana, GNR. I probably could go on.

Everything in the original post is OPINION and thats all. Saying things like "Axl isn't a musical genius" or "Axl hasn't been able to write good songs since 1985" are just incorrect or if nothing else soley your opinion. Maybe they're are your opinions but they're vastly different from those of just about anyone else I know and including the majority of the music press.

This is what I don't understand; if you hate this whole deal so much why do you care to even comment on it. Are you trying to "save" people or something?? I don't get it.

For example, I hatedCreed for the entire time that the rest of the world was in love with them. I constantly had thoughts of contempt for them, their record company and their "rabid" fan base. However, I didn't go running to a Creed message board to post my thoughts about how much they suck, what a flash in the pan, record company bullshit band they were or any of that. I just let people like what they liked at the time and went about my own life.

I went to see GNR here in Detroit in 02 to see what it was all about. While I was at the show something sparked that gave me the feeling that this is still Guns N' Roses. Having seen the old lineup in several incarnations in the same venue years ago, I felt that this was a pretty good gage to judge by. Since then I've waited like anyone else. I've listened to tunes like "The Blues" and "Madagascar" and they've never worn themselves out to me and I've listened to them as much or more then any Appetite or UYI material in the last four years. When the leaks happened I immediately recongnized them as having that same "GNR spark". They show the potential of this band.

When GNR took the stage at Hammerstein on May 12 I was still wondering what to expect and I was totally blown away. The spark of Guns N' Roses that was there in 02 was now a full blown explosion and I was thankful for anything thats happened to this point to cause it.

Having said all of that, I personally do not give a rats ass if GNR ever reaches the heights they have in the past. I honestly could care less if anyone besides myself even buys a copy of Chinese Democracy when it's released. I love and listen to what I want to. I am not here because I want to be part of something. If I wanted to do that I could pick any band on Earth and find a forum full of raging fans about them and just pretend to like them as well to be part of something. I am here (and still a Guns N' Roses fan) because I personally find substance and merit in what is going on with them.

While I don't agree with everyone who isn't into the new band just getting flammed, banned or insulted over it, I also cannot understand why I have to see topics like this started every other hour. It's almost like you're just looking for an argument or just some attention and this is the easiest way to get it. People who are going to like the current line up of Guns N' Roses are going to do so for their own reasons. Whatever they may be, they are each persons own reasons and you're setting yourself up for disappointment if you think you can change that.

I think Axl should loose the braids, i also think Axl is a little money mad, i think he needs to money to distance himself from the harsh reality of the real world. It would not surprize me if this tour is the last we see of Axl+Co. The tour is to push the album. We'll get disc 1, then after some time disc 2 followed by disc 3. I doubt there will be a tour, Axl will shut himself away forever. So see Gn'R while you can  peace

What i do think though, is in 20 years time we get to see Slash and Axl share the same stage again for 1 one off gig  Grin

I figured Id write this post to hopefully maybe reach one person.? Ive loved Guns N' Roses since about the time I can first remember anything and gone through years of faithful worship of them.? In 8th grade I was pumped cause i knew the new album would be coming out that year, now im in my 2nd year of law school.? The fact is there is no plan and the fans especially should wake up and realize this.? Axl is not some genius mastermind who has laid out 1,000's of domino's and at the right time will knock one over and all will fall into place.? Axl is a rockstar, he makes rock music, hes a person who does not even have a college education.? He isnt a genius, at least outside of music.? ? People on these boards seem to still believe he is brilliant, but hes not.? He is just a person who makes music, except he doesnt make music.? Seriously, do people realize that most of the songs that GNR has ever released were written/performed before Appetite even came out.? I mean listen to Dont Cry from the Roxy, it sounds the exact same as what is put on UYI.? THat means in 20 years Axl has released 5-10 new songs?? This isnt a plan, but insanity.? If Axl really got off heroin in the mid 80's maybe he should go back on it, because it seems the only song writing took place during that time.?
? ? ? ?The new songs sound good.? But seriously, try playing them for non-GNR fans, let alone people who already think GNR is a washed out Hair metal band that broke up that has a fat, braided, mid 40's lead singer who was a dick to metallica 14 years ago.? The album wont sell that many copies, it will do about as well as the Greatest Hits cd, because its going to be bought by the same audience.? People may be interested in it, but those people will just download the music.? I mean seriously, do you think Axl today will appeal to the adolescent's that he did back in the late 80's early 90's.? If you say yes to this question youre just a superfan.? No 12 year old boy wants to be Axl today.? Why would they?? He's red haired with braids who gets punched by a 50 year old Tommy Hilfiger.? He's not some early 20's guy living it up carelessly.? MTV/VH1 wont promote it longer than a day, and if GNR is lucky their videos will be played a few times on MTV2.? As a live act GNR today is depressing.? 1/2 the band doesnt care and the other half are one step above VH1's Super Group.? I mean look at Brain, he doesnt need 3 weeks to be with his wife, he just doesnt care that much about doing the shows.
? ? ? ?The fact is there has never been a plan other than, "Lets get a band together and release the album".? Thats the plan and Axl has failed miserably at it.? Forget that youre all superfans for a second and take a step back.? ITs pretty funny to think about.? I mean, read the posts here for 10 minutes, they all start with, "I wonder if Axl is planning..."? He isnt planning anything if you havent realized that youre blind.? He has never been planning anything.? That is probably one quality/vice that made most of us fall in love with GNR, that there was no plan.? You didnt know if theyd show up, if theyd break up, or if theyd put on the greatest show of all time.? It is the same way today, but just without the fun, hell its even the same music.? I remember a quote axl said i think in the spin interview in 99(?) it was something like, "it could all end today and id be happy because i have the music we put out."? I think thats how we all should feel.? GNR will never "rule the world" again, but you can still go to youtube.com and see the shows where they did.? We all have AFD and can play it till the lens on our cd players burn out.
? ? ? In conclusion this was a rant, but there is no plan.? Axl is no genius.? GNR will never regain its status.? A reuniun would be sad.? Rockers shoudl be like athletes and retire, because when they hold on too long you see them as the mortals they are.? Right now Axl is a few years older than JOrdan was when he played for the Wizards.? Jim Brown and Barry Sanders retired in their primes, but that doesnt mean they should have came back at 44.? Just because Axl sat out much of his prime doesnt mean that he isnt 44, he's 44 and his album will be treated by the mainstream like he is 44.? If there ever was a plan it failed.? yeah we will all like the new album, but its just because we've been deprived so long.? The people who havent noticed GNR's absence, probably wont notice the come back either.
?

I agree with most of this... I don't think any musician ever has to retire though... Axl should be able to play music as long as he wants... He should retire the Gn'R name though because he is tarnishing it..
