Soda Explotion, any scientists in the house?

Haha ok so just now i went into the kitchen and grabbed the 2 liter bottle of Pepsi. It's about half empty and I went to unscrew the cap and it came flying out of my hands and flew like litterally 10 feet away. Then the top of the soda bottle has like misty/fog type of stuff coming out the bottle. I didnt shake it up at all, anyone know whats the science behind this weird event?

Yes mentos mints do that but its very hard to close the bottle after putting in the candy. Maybe someone used something different.

The soda is carbonated. This fizzes out into CO₂. The bottle is sealed so the pressure builds up. When u open the bottle, the gas comes out at high pressure, causing whatever u described above.
