What u guys think both poured tons of money to get the team/band to what the "Boss/es" believe by poring tons of money searching for an all start line up which failed to produce at the end.  I'm starting to see a similarity here.... yeah the album will be good enough with each individual's effort, but this new GNR line up might not have the chemistry and the music before were based on their lifestyles, days of hanging out, sex drugs and rock and roll which produced the raw AFD those GNR's dynasty years.  Now I've just witnessed the worsted collapse of the NY Yankees which linked me to compare the Yankees organization now which are filled with top payroll invididuals which did not grow up as a team with a mutual sense of direction (which could develope over period of time, but Axl really has one chance to prove compared to the yankees while Torre had already restructured a falling Yankee into 10 out of 11 post season peformances )  We've just witnessed the Yankees faltered due to not having what the original Yankee dynasty had been able to produce, and at the same situation that Torre's taking the blame for comming short with a $200 Million All Star Roster that failed to produce in the post season, which in the case of CD the album sales.  I'm afraid that Axl unfortunately will fall in the same situation as Torre, having to take the blame for not comming up with what the majority of fans and critics thinks. "The" album which costed 10+ Million and 10+ years of making, might sell less copies than that of a new group or the saless set out by industry's favorite artists.   People as well as critics are already comparing the quality of this album with the amount of time and money AXL had put into this album just like the Yankee's team, all critics regardless of what us die hard fans believe, it has little chance of topping AFD from what we've heard so far, and for Axl ro make his major comback topping AFD is a must, and I really hope that he will finds success in what I see as his final comback.  Unlike the unfortunate yankees whom I see using similar approach by spending numerous amount of money to build that dream team which failded hard in the post season and now facing a huge hole for them to come back out.

Wish all the hard work you've put throught the years will be paid off and you certainly deserve it.  Good Luck in the weeks to come!!!  ok

Let me know if this comparison sounds resonable.  Thanks!

topping AFD is a must...
Thats the wrong line of thinking, and thats one of the reasons why people like you are going to hate this album.

This is about the weirdest post, but no... there's no comparison. Steinbrenner is a greedy old dictator who expects perfection for his $200+mil (who wouldn't?) and that the Yanks are America's team, which is bullshit. Anyone who knows anything, knows that both the Boston Red Sox & Chicago Cubs have the strongest fan bases in all of baseball, and this is proven fact not only by attendence but also TV ratings.

The problem with the Yankees is they build All-star teams, and not the RIGHT teams. The reason teams like the 2002 Arizona Diamondbacks, 2003 Florida Marlins, 2004 Boston Red Sox & 2005 Chicago White Sox were all superior teams, were because they were built right. They built the right parts to make an efficiently winning team. Not always is the all-star the right chip to a successful team. The biggest example of this is the Yankees World Series loss to the Florida Marlins in 2003. The Florida Marlins were like the Bad News Bears compared to the Yankees. The Marlins - small market / The Yankees - huge market / The Marlins payroll - $50mil / The Yankees - $200mil / The Marlins - a AAA-squad posing as an MLB team / The Yankees - an MLB All-star team / The Marlins - manager-Jack McKeon a strategic manager who managed for the moment and managed fundamentally / The Yankee - manager-Joe Torre a tired overpayed & overrated manager who simply fills out the same lineup card each night and runs through the paces.

All I have to say to Yankee fans is, go METS!

CD is not about topping AFD, nothing will top AFD. It's a masterpiece. And as much as I love almost all of the new songs, there's nothing there 'so far' that comes even close to AFD-quality material. I think CD will give the Illusion's a run for their money, but even some diehards will argue UYI I & II being superior to CD.

GN'R will easily recoup their productions costs, and show plenty in the black with CD. Even if they only sell 3-mil copies, that's plenty to be a great success. Some of you cats are predicting 10-mil, yeah right. Keep dreaming.

How thick are you.. Nothing can top AFD it's the best rock album ever nad that's the end of it or well if Axl were to do that the music CD contains would need to be something extraordinary that starts a totally new era in the music world.

But I beleive CD will be fuckin awesome and that's the end of it.
