Weren't the russians building a big mudfucka laser in order to take care of business with stuff like this?


Actually, from what I've read on the topic...the way to beat something like this is not to try and blow it up.  That would send even more smaller pieces (still very large) towards us guaranteeing even more destruction.  The way to beat it is to send out a satellite that can basically go into orbit around the asteroid, and use the gravitational force of the orbiting satellite to gently nudge the asteroid off course.  If you'd like you can always use the power of prayer  Roll Eyes to save your ass.   hihi

exactly. Or send a small rocket out there to attach it self to the thing and give it a push out of our way. but i think that he ment laser because the heat from the laser would cuase it to create a little jet or comet like tail that would actually make it move out of our path and look like a comet. I'm catchin that light show Cool

I watch the science channel alot, next time its on watch "killer Asteroid" on the science channel. Its really bad when you have 200 channels and almost nothing good on no
