I don't see an album coming in the near future. Tour in the 'untouched' parts of the world, after that I have no idea.

I'll say it right now: There will be no US tour without the album. I don't think Axl would do it this time.

YEAH!!!! Axl wouldn't screw over his faithful fans.... ?Roll Eyes

How the hell do you say he's screwing his fans by going on tour?

In my opinion is coming. but...... heres how I think it will go

Japan shows
South Africa shows
GNR then work their way to a ''huge fan base'' in South America
Chinese Democracy released
GNR then do a huge North American tour starting in Los Angeles, then go over to Europe to finish.
Break-maybe a long one lol....
next album/tour

Does this sound reasonable and likely? Does anyone disagree? Agree?

Thats sounds pretty good to me beer lets just hope that that all happens within the next 10-12 months and not 10-12 years

peace

Unless Axl will be covering the cost of promoting CD himself, this tour should not be a cash grab for funding the album.

He has to make money some how. He has like 7 other band members counting on getting paid, and they draw a salary whether an album is out or not. Months and years of inactivity, yet still having to pay a band can really draw on your bank book no matter how wealthy you are. Merck himself said the tours last year to make some money to keep things going. Since he is never going to make any money of the album, he has to keep touring in order to keep the band going. Doesn't make the tour a cash grab but it is the reality he is dealing with.

I'll see them again if the come back to the U.S. with or without the album.? The live shows are great.? I'm not one of the guys that bitch about the setlists either.? They change it up alot more than other bands.? I saw Oasis twice last year in the U.S.months apart from each other and both shows were not only identicle, but they played the songs in the exact same order for both shows.? And you know what?? Both shows rocked.? Not as much as GNR at the Target Center...but they were still good.? If you go to see a show because an albums coming out, you're odd in my opinion.

And IF the album is being mixed right now as reported, then duh...it really should'nt effect the tour.

I don't think GnR changes the setlist that much.  The four times ive seen them since 2000 were all pretty much the same.  But i will agree with you on something else:  ill be at at least two of the shows this tour with OR WITHOUT the album.  Hopefully with, but ill take what i can get.

PS:  how were the Oasis shows?  id like to catch them next time  around.

Well, they seem to add and subtract songs here and there.  Not huge changes, but a song here and there.  When I saw them at the Target Center in December, I was treated to Down On The Farm (my favorite GNR cover) and Rocket Queen...they were'nt done every night.

And Oasis live is an absolute bang.  I highly recommend going to see them if you get a chance.

Seeing this band is a REAL treat, especially if its a small intimate setting.  I will see them regardless, but like I've said before Axl needs to open up and TALK to the fans like he used too!  He barely speaks at most of the shows...but a full tour in the U.S. will be in support of the new album.  No more U.S. dates, unless they are "warm-ups".

The last tour was called off because they couldn't finish the album while playing a few dates in California.? I doubt it's going to be any easier to finish the album while they're touring South America.

But the recording is done.....

I thought that was the deal from the start. Axl mentioned there were some minor things that needed to be done, and they got them done.

THEN WHY NO DATE YET?

Mixing. Album is being mixed. Can't you read Axl's letter or use common sense to know that?

Common sense? Common sense would tell you to doubt an update that say things "SEEM" to be moving along.  Or a statement from a non band member.  Or the real possibility that Axl could at any moment decide to redo an entire song.  None of us, except maybe Jarmo or Mysteron know anything, maybe a release date will come out next week or maybe the album wont come out until Axl's dead, who the hell knows.  Common sense would have told you that the album wouldnt take 15.5 years.  If you use common sense youd realize that Axl is unpredictable, habitually late and completely unmotivated to hurry this thing out before he deems it ready.  Seriously I think I would be more shocked if a 1 seed lost tomorrow in March madness than if this album never came out.

It might be as wonderful as seeing the band that you have believed in your whole life back where they belong......

It wouto also be "super funky techno beats" to see all of the "cool kids" that have laughed me for being a die-hard gnr fan
buying this album just to fit in.

I think they'll play Europe before coming back to the US. Their ex-manager said they'd see us again next summer at the last Wembley gig last year (though axl did say 'see you next summer' in 02 when they played the docklands, and look what happened the following year - nothing!)

I'm hoping for them to play Reading/Leeds at the end of August (the lineup is announced this coming Monday. RHCP and Smashing Pumpkins look pretty likely for 2 of the headliners but no news on the third...)
