Heres an interesting one for you. I've read that Gilby Clarke had to re-record Izzy Stradlin's Guitar parts for The Spaghetti Incident as Izzy had already laid them down prior to leaving the band in November 1991.

What strikes me as odd about this is that its exactly the same to what Richard Fortus, BBF and Frank Ferrer have apparently done (since 2002 Paul Tobias, Buckethead and Brain have all stepped away from the band) re-recording the parts of former members on the bands long awaited album.

Why does Axl do this, is it just to keep the album relevant, or is it because this is just the new lineup now? Does that mean that neither Brain or Tobias (who has been friends with Axl since childhood) will be involved in the album or the band at anystage in the future?

The Spaghetti Incident sounded awful, I hope the same thing won't happen to Axl's album.

I personally thought TSI sounded GREAT.....

But unless you are fan of old school punk music, you probably didn't really care for this album .

I am a fan of old school punk music, and that's precisely why I'm saying that TSI stinks.

I'd have to disagree with that, to me TSI has two things:

1. Some kickass songs!!! (a few i dont like a much, but i adore at least 1/2 the album)

2. songs aside...its has awesome production.....i love how all the instruments stand out so clearly....like in black leather how you can hear the particular attack slash gives the main lick....how axl sounds..the rhythm parts...its all so defined.....I wish other albums (eg VR) were mixed/produced along similar lines....

I am hoping that the Spaghetti songs recorded on UYI sessions that williambayley is posting on Appetite for Collection will have Izzy on guitar. That would be awesome to listen to.
