1. The greatest country in the world, a 100 years ago. Now it's no different than Europe, broken and corrupt.

2. I separate everything that's separate.

1. Although i have family in the country, i have my own view since i visited washington and pennsylvania.

Washington deeply shocked me :

I was there doing basic tourism, and all around the offices and the park that surrounds the smithsonian, there were beggars, poors, crack addicts.
On one side, there were people amongst the most powerful of the country and yards from them, MISERY.
And i bet they couldn't give a shit see ?
I stopped and talked to a guy, he was very sweet, said i had to be from another country because no one ever stops to talk to him, let alone look at him.
He gave me a beeds necklace and to this day, it is a cherished possession of mine.

I then went to pennylvania, fucking hell's kitchen if you ask me.

I was around people from Penn State university, forming the country's finest physicians, biochemists and lawyers right ?

Well, the people i met were nuts, paranoid, as if they had been told from birth there was an invader, there HAS to be an invader fro them see, the yare told people from " outside" are dangerous, someone could harm their families, or them.

Of course they were patriotic, they are paranoid, they go mad if there is no invader so in order to stay sane, they try to find one.

With a friend ,we  drove past a house, standing on its own outside penn, and christ fucking christ, i thought it was only in movies but lord no, it is true, there was a guy in a checked shirt, with a RIFFLE, as if he was going to shoot straight in the car because we had DARED drive past.

I mean for christ's sakes.

I came back to france feeling SAFE, feeling home, feeling like my country wasn't so bad after all, ifelt the americans i had met were desperate and had been manipulated and were going MAD.

Also, i felt that a lot of people were desperately uneducated.

I felt happy to be franco british.

I felt happy to be a member of the family who isn't from South Virginia or Chapel Hill, and i am proud to say i'll never call anyone " white trash" for as long as i live.

Hahahaha, Jessica, I am from State College, PA and I apologize for your horrible visit to this area. ?It is a bad area for the "redneck, backwoods trailer trash" type, but for the most part it's one of the more decent areas of PA. ?As for the college, it falls right into the middle of this very conservative area of PA so as you can imagine everyone is always at odds with each other. Townies hate students and vice versa. ?
I'm not a very big fan of this area myself, but unfortunately it's been home off and on for the past 20 years. ?You shoulda checked first, I could have notified you about the wonderful parts of town to visit and others to avoid. ?As Jerry Seinfeld always says in his act when he comes here, "You guys couldn't even come up with a name for your town....there's a college and it's in a state....There we go!!"

Washington DC is an entity in itself.....the homeless problem there is horrific, far worse than any other place I've seen. ?Philadelphia is also growing extremely worse every year. ?

DC is a disgrace in terms of the dirt/crime/homelessness.  PA is a funny state. 

don't be fooled though.  The US is a BIG country.  Each state is different just as each part of those states are different.

I know i know, but what i saw was either very depressing or very scary.

I did not want to go visit my family because they live in the senator's area in virginia, they are loaded and i would have got pissed off if i had heard of one them say " white trash" which they do apparently. They are my mother's cousins and to be honest, i am not sure i want to be affiliated.

1. From what i've seen, a great country. Farthest in ive been is to Minneapolis (im from winnipeg, manitoba, canada), and it was better than winnipeg. Driving in winnipeg is a task alone cuz theres nothing but stupid assholes on our streets. Driving in minneapolis was a much greater experience. Plus, theres actually stuff that you see on TV (landmarks and such) that when you go visit them, your like "Hey! i know this place somewhat." (IE- Mall of America). Winnipeg has absolutely nothing like that.

2. Government is seen differently than the public to me. Im kind of an anti-government type of person, so im not too fond of those people. I respect other people though.

3. Not really. I question the logic in some of Bush's doings, but it doesnt affect my view on other Americans in any way.

I'm talking about the 2004 election where Bush won 51% of the majority popular vote. But I won't pretend to understand US politics.

1. I respect American people and their culture (GnR lol ) BUT  U.S sould NOT  intervene in other countries' affairs!!!  As "Mama Kin" said TOO  Self Important.
2. No it's not one entity. There are many people who are opposite to Bush's politics so anyone who says "I hate Americans" is a racist. The problem is that Americans in general are controlled by the media so they tend to believe everything the gonvernment says. I don't blame the people for this .(After all many of them are ILLITERATE!) I blame the gonvernment and the whole system!
3. What made me angry is that Americans elected Bush for SECOND time! Which means that the majority AGREED about the war in Iraq!The majority didn't give a fuck about the dead innocent people. But I think that's because a big percentage of Americans are illiterate and they generally live in their own fuckin world. And I blame the whole system for this. The gonvernment has made people believe that they are in danger but in reality other countries are in danger because of Bush !
