Well I don't know people will praise the song cd up and down and it is quite boring, yet they can't find one thing they like about a snakepit song where the playing is 100x's better,,,

I love jiz da pit... Snakepit gets a bad rap from the new gnr fans, guess everyone is hearing impared

yeah...its beyond me how people can fault the guitar on "it's five o'clock somewhere" - some of the coolest and most wicked riffs ever!!!

I must admit lyricly I miss axl on the snakepit stuff, like its all cool anyway...but it would have been interesting with Axl...but i guess that wasn't to be!

Its just that none of the music is particularly memorable.   Sure, Slash has some awesome solos and licks in some of those clips, but in general, the music is really lacking.    Slash's best stuff was his GNR stuff, hands down.   Theres a reason Snakepit didn't have any commerical success.

I'd take IRS and Better over any of that stuff.  Its not like its bad or anything, but just not very good.

Now i'm obsessed with the song IRS at the moment as we all know, so i won't go saying anything bad about IRS. But I think snakepits guitar is far more complex and interesting than IRS. (ok so bucket has a big solo..but the rest is simple stuff - nothing wrong with that tho cool song) - but what makes IRS cool is the lyrics and the passion axl has.

Anyway...when people say that SP isn't memorable I think its cos they havn't dug the lyrics really. I mean musically the songs are similar to GNR, I mean is perfect crime really any different from like one of the SP songs? Bad ass riffs etc...its just that GNR had more going on with the lyrics...

Anyway, i love the leaks and the new songs. But snakepit deserves respect for the awesome records they are!

Hey, I've just watched The Truth and Just Like Anything. Any idea where and when they played them?? Huh

The thing is I uploaded Ain't Life Grand and put it in Appetite for Collection and now I can see it's from the same show as The Truth and Just Like Anything and it's the same version of Ain't Life Grand as the one Smoking Guns posted.

Thanks in advance. Smiley

I think the live footage is from Buffalo, NY 2000 or 2001.

Thank you, Smoking Guns, I found some info on it and gnr2k6 said he has the dvd, so now we know for sure it's from the Niagara Guitar Festival, Buffalo, NY, the 17th of june 2001. ok
