MSG is so over-rated.I prefer the Nassau Col. on Long Island...or even the outdoor venue at Jones Beach..Just stay away from GIANT Stadium....

MSG is the greatest, most legendary arena in the world.  And by far the best arena to see a concert at

You are just pissed because despite their 4-peat dynasty in the 80's the Islanders have to play in the Nassau dump while the much less admirable Rangers get MSG  hihi

No it's not.  It is maybe in the U.S. but I would say that Wembly has a bigger all over name then MSG

My own view is that a stadium concert for the viewer because 90% of the seats are shit.
I much prefer an arena, or smaller.

The arena?

Or the completely demolished and rebuilt stadium?

wembley arena wouldn't be that famous.

earls court on the other hand...

and as for stadiums wembley (old) was the most legendary and for some reason people think the new one should automaticly be put on the same level.

I prefer smaller, so arena out of the two as a preference (for view and sound generally).  am quite small so stadium gigs can be difficult to see when you're down in the pit!  Saw U2 when I was 16 at a stadium and only saw the top of the stage set for the first few songs!  after getting thrown from one side of the pitch to the other by the glasgow massive fora  few more songs, I retreated right back so I could see from a distance.  Rolling Stones I saw at Twickenham - that was cool with big screens and they had an extending mini stage which crossed the entire length of the pitch for a few songs which was really good for us opposite the stage and far away.
but for GnR - I'll see them anywhere - any size venue. and I will suffer in heels - coz I will be heading down the front  beer    Would love to see them at MSG, heard so much about many legendary gigs there.

I was looking forward to a small venue tour. I would go to PNC Arts Center or Prudential Center, but there isn't a single band in the world that would get me in a stadium again. If GNR can get LED LEP to tour with them we can talk stadium.

My bad.  I guess I'm not allowed to post here because both options sound equally amazing!  Plus, an empty coal mine would be scary...Axl hitting some piercing high notes might cause a collapse.  Not cool.

Oh the media would be all over Axl for that one!

They'd probably try him for murder:

every type of concert locations have its on charm..

The biggest crowd i have been in, was around 150 000 in Oslo sentrum. There was lots of artists playing.. Turbonegro, and other Norwegian artists.. I have never been to a stadium concert, but i saw Black Sabbath in Roskilde som years ago. i think there were about 70 000 people. I also saw GNR at Roskilde in 2006, and i belive there was about 70 000 people there also.

GnR in Oslo spectrum is the best concert i have ever seen! Sold Out, with about 8500 people! But i look very much forward to see GnR on a stadium!  beer

Arena's.  I typically avoid stadium concerts and haven't been to one since Pink Floyd or  the Guns N' Roses and Metallica tour.  I think the sound quality sucks and it feels like you are sitting a million miles away.

Arenas all the way. Better set-up, better sound, better atmosphere, still a big crowd.

I'd rather never see a stadium gig, although I'll go if that's the only way to see a band.
