(CNN) -- Classic rock band Cheap Trick got a scare Sunday night at the Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest.

The stage gave way while the band was playing, after severe weather moved into the area.

No one was seriously hurt.

"The stage blew down and collapsed," a statement on the band's website said. "Everyone is shaken up but band and crew are all fine."

Manager Dave Frey confirmed for CNN that the band was unharmed.

"One of our drivers will spend the night in the hospital and though we're not sure how, Cheap Trick are grateful and happy to say that everyone, including all the concert goers, are okay," Frey said.

A picture on the band's website showed a tangle of metal girders under a darkly overcast sky.

The website for the Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest said there were "no serious injuries." It also said that severe weather had forced the closure of all venue stages for the night.

Cheap Trick is best known for its hits "Surrender" "Dream Police" and "I Want You To Want Me."

Cheap Trick Cancels Gig Over Stage Fright
By Paul Cashmere

It?s official. Cheap Trick have stage fright and have cancelled a gig because of it.

The band has pulled out of their September 1 show in Vancouver, Canada because the same company that made the stage that collapsed during their show on July 17 made the stage being used for the Ottawa Bluesfest.

A statement at the Cheap Trick website reads, ?Staging for PNE (Pacific National Exhibition) in Vancouver, BC is provided by Mega-Stage, (Berger), who also provided the MBNA Stage that fell on Cheap Trick at Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest on July 17th, 2011.

?All potential alternatives have been explored by the band and promoter and were exhausted, leaving Cheap Trick with no other option than to cancel their September 1st engagement at the PNE.

?Unless current investigation(s) prove otherwise, the band will not, as a matter of principle, but more importantly, as a matter of safety, appear on a Berger stage in the future?.

8 people were injured when the stage came crashing down on July 17 but luckily the band was unharmed.

The disaster was the second time a stage by Groupe Berger has fallen down. It also happened on June 30, 2009 at the Quebec comedy festival.
