It should be cool, but all the question Stern would ask would be about reunion...and Hall of Fame...and tabloid stories and hype.

All the stuff Axl left behind him.He would walk out within half an hour.So no,I wouldn't want to see that.Or another Eddie Trunk interview where people are afraid to ask questions and kiss ass.

That''s not how interviews with Roger Waters, Paul McCartney, or Billy Joel went. It was a little of everything, some stuff that had nothing to do with music. If Axl had nothing to say, he'd rather not have him on, and he knows this.

Eddie Trunk's show focuses more on the music itself and band history, Howard would be talking about Axl's day to day life and who he's dating, what he does with his life when he's not on the road.

Howard isn't going to wait around for Axl to show up, and he might not even be in the studio when Axl did show up. But he did it for Jimmy.

I like Howard enough, but I haven't honestly heard more than 5 min of him at a time since he went to satellite

Axl, you like anal? How many hot chicks you bang a week?

Sorry not the interview I'm interested in
not saying he wouldn't ask those questions, but there would certainly be much more to it than that. I would think the biggest hurdle would be the Slash questions and the breakup of the original lineup. Howard, like many, is fascinated with getting to the bottom of what really went down. It would all be a matter of what Axl wanted to talk about. If he didn't want to answer those questions, then the sex questions may playa bigger role. But trust me, Howard is interested in a lot more than just finding out how many chicks Axl has banged. Give the man some credit for remaining at the top of his game for 30+ years. There's a reason for that, and it's not due to all the anal questions.

Apparently Slash wasn't happy about all the Axl questions when he was on Stern in May. I can't imagine Axl would be much happier with all the Slash questions.

You should have seen the cover they wanted to do. It wasn't a glove, believe me.

If Howard had the privilege of interviewing Axl I hope he would do his homework first so he could ask some meaningful questions and not rely on the silly absurd questions. Axl should show up to the studio and if Howard can't name 3 songs from CD and 3 current band members he should go down the hall to the o&a Show!!

I'd rather listen to o&a show any day!

I actually think Axl would enjoy Howard Sterns humour and interviewing technique. He obviously knows he can be abit banterish, from the interviews he done with him back in the day. I think Howard would certainly be more guarded regarding his use of words early on in the interview, but may try a few jokes once it get's going to keep Axl at ease.

But regardless, I think it would be enjoyable for both Axl and us fans... just wish it happens, but don't see it anytime soon.  Undecided

A fake Axl called in at the end of the show, ha!

Slash was great on it, but apparently complained after

Opie and Anthony are good.  Used to listen to them when they were on WAAF in Boston back in the day.  But they pale in comparison to Stern.  Respectable imitations, but imitations nonetheless.

As for a possible Howard/Axl interview.  It would only work if Axl was willing to open up about the past.  Recently it has seemed that he wants to focus solely on the future, but if he wanted to let loose on a few things AND promote the current lineup, Howard would provide him that opportunity to do so.  He'd be free to rap with Howard for over an hour.  You can't do that kind of interview anywhere else.  So all in all, it would be great.  But only if Axl was completely up for it.

Also, I kind of doubt Axl would be a guest in studio because of the show's early hours.  Unless Axl was on an all night bender and wanted to get in there first thing at 6am.  But phoning in from CA at 4AM seems like a more likely scenario.

I think it would be awesome, and I hope it happens before one or both of them retire.

Yeah, I think people have a narrow minded view about what Howard Stern does or who he is.  Yes, he talks about sex and if Axl was on as a guest I'm sure that would be a topic of conversation.  But there's much more to Howard than getting to the bottom of who's banging who.  He's literally one of the best interviewers on the planet, and I strongly believe that.  He's fair and balanced, and will cover EVERYTHING.  He's got a great staff who feeds him relevant information.  He makes guests feel comfortable to the point that they open up about things they normally wouldn't talk about.  He just doesn't get enough credit for what he does.  Plain and simple.  I'd add Billy Joel, Paul McCartney, Jay-Z, among others to the list of great interviews he's given.  The list is endless in my mind.  I realize not everyone's a fan, and that's fine.  But there's a reason he's been so successful in the business.  And it isn't solely based on dick jokes and sex talk.
