Booker the point is Axl does not whore out gnr songs left and right to every movie that wants a 15 year old gnr song.

So now booker, tell me why you think I hate VR?

Would that make Axl an asshole for screwing them of their GNR rights all these years, and if he does lose the case who is to blame?

Noooo, of course not. Axl, an asshole? No way, Axl is perfect. How dare that "lying asshole" Slash fight for his rights to his own music! Roll Eyes

Quote
Yes this topic is nessacery just look at the post below yours  Roll Eyes

I don't think this is a necessary topic. I think this is a load of shit. In fact, I hope that Jarmo will delete this thread because it's stupid and pointless.

Quote
This thread is very necessary since it will put an end to all the bullshit in the other threads when I post a review on VR songs or a vid or what ever else.

If you think that this thread will solve anything, you're insane. All this is doing is starting more crap on these boards. And I wouldn't take your reviews seriously for shit.

Quote
For the post above this one, lets not turn this topic into how is slash a liar thread.

You're the one who said it, so don't say it's not part of the topic. You started it yourself. I want to know how he is a liar or an asshole. Enlighten me. You obviously can't come up with reasons how he is either of those. You're just pulling shit out of your ass and posting it on these boards. Slash isn't an asshole or a liar, and that sounds pretty damned strange coming from an Axl fan.

Quote
I am asking the people who claim I hate VR to point out when I have ever said I dont like them.

I'm not going to sit here all day pointing out the times you have made negative comments against the ex members. And perhaps you have never said "I hate VR" or "I hate so and so" but in your posts you do nothing but bash them. Look at the person who created the thread "Post your reviews here." That person obiviously did not like Contraband, but did anyone say "Oh, then you must be an Axl fan then"? No. People know not to take you seriously.

The only reason you think its stupid and pointless is because none of you can give me one good reason why you think I hate VR.

And yes I have made negative comments about slashs post gnr work, and what is your point? People make negative comments about Axl all the time yet they still call themselves fans, yet if i make a negative comment about slash or one of the VR fans it means I cant be a fan.

Nice logic there  ok

As for the poster who gave a negative review on contaband and him not getting bashed just proves my point even more.
Since everyone knows I am a huge axl fan i get bashed for making the same comments that poster did.

You are making my points for me, thanks.

I think it's stupid and pointless because all it does is start shit. I also think it's stupid and pointless because you accuse Slash of being an asshole and liar, yet you can't even give a single reason for it. Is it because he's not Axl Rose? Is it because he's fighting for his rights to his own fucking music?

And, AS I SAID, people say that you hate VR maybe because you give them a reason to think so? Such as bashing them at every oppotunity. Ever thought of that, looking at the things you have said about them?

Haha...dodged every question.  You want to try this again?

You brought up licensing songs to bad movies...what do you think about Axl allowing music in Real Cancun, Cant Hardly Wait, the Jim Rome compilation, Grosse Point Blank, etc..

As for whoring out, dont know what youre definition is, but heres a list of items GNRs music featured on...

Jim Rome  Welcome to the Jungle (1998) Performer
Original Soundtrack  Lean on Me (1989) Performer
Original Soundtrack  Days of Thunder (1991) Performer
Original Soundtrack  Interview with the Vampire (1995) Producer, Performer
Original Soundtrack  Grosse Pointe Blank (1997) Producer, Performer
Original Soundtrack  Can't Hardly Wait (1998) Performer
Original Soundtrack  End of Days (1999) Performer
Original Soundtrack  End of Days [Clean] (1999) Performer
Various Artists  Nobody's Child: Romanian Angel... (1990) Performer
Various Artists  Vid Grid (1994) Performer
Various Artists  Rocks Off (1995) Performer
Various Artists  Kuschelrock, Vol. 9 (1995) Performer
Various Artists  Soft Rock: 36 Classic Rock Ballads (1996) Performer
Various Artists  Best Rock Anthems In The World..... (1996) Performer
Various Artists  Rocktober (1998) Performer
Various Artists  Kuschelrock, Vol. 8 (1999) Performer
Various Artists  Decline of Western Civilization,...

Not to mention The Program, Real Cancun and Terminator 2 (for which the "YCBM" video functioned as an advertisement).

So Duff and Slash name 3 or 4 other movies, one of which Axl would have agreed to if he could have re-recorded a classic song, and all of a sudden its whoring-out?

Second, give one valid reason to believe Slash and Duff intend on licensing GNR songs for commercials.  Anything about bad movies doesnt count since...theyre movies.

I hope you dont cop-out again...Just answer the questions.  ok

But isn't that just like Dave? In just about every post he dodges people's questions.

Dave, I really don't know what makes you think that Slash and Duff want to "whore out" their music for shitty commercials, and where they said this?Huh?? I would like to know that too.

Booker how did I dodge any question? You really need to learn to read.
Like I said Axl does not whore himself to every movie that wants a 15 year old song on their movie.
How is that not answering your question?
Learn how to read and maybe you will understand my posts.

Btw most of the movies you mentioned all the band members agreed on so again you have no point.
Since Axl has started the new gnr he does not want old songs being on albums since those members are no longer in the band.
What cant you understand about that? Its not that hard.

I love how you cant tell me why I hate VR and keep bring up this song thing.

No offense, but who gives a fuck why you do or don't like VR?....

Then why do you and certain others feel the need to bash me and always bring it up when I post something about VR?

If you dont give a fuck then dont bring it up when I say I dont like a certain song or something like that.

Well I don't like all VRs songs either Dave and I agree with you. They have some great songs and there are a few I just dont get into. I am sure most posters here will find a song or two they dont like on Contraband after they listen to it a few times.

Its one thing to come here and just Bash VR. Its another to give an honest opinion, you don't like all the sounds and its ok.

My fav album is AFD and there is still two songs I really dont care for. Does this mean I dont like GnR? No.

As long as everyone agrees Limp Bizkit killed Behind Blue Eyes we can all get along and find some of VR to like. To each there own.

I think you hate VR because you started Boycott Contraband threads on at least 2 GNR sites.

Down deep you know you will be buying Contraband.  If not, you are only screwing yourself out of hard rock.

Why do people get so uptight when an artist decides to license their songs to commercials and/or movies? I'm not just referring to anyone from here  because I noticed fans of various bands get all uptight over their favorite band doing it. Why does it bother people so much? Does it make them less credible or what?

For me it's probably because occasionally I hear a song on the radio and then I wonder what commercial the song was in.... People start thinking of the product as soon as they hear the song. Even after the commercial itself isn't on tv anymore.

When have I ever said that? Hmmm
If any of you bashers have ever read my full posts you would see that I like some of their songs.
Its just some of you think because I support Axl that means I hate VR.
I think slash is a liar and an asshole but so what, people on here say axl is an asshole and think he is a liar yet they can still like the new gnr.

So why is it that I cant think slash is a prick and a liar yet not still like some VR songs? Hmmm

Who cares?  You're still annoying.  Undecided

Do you think less of an artist if they do it? I understand what you mean because I tend to think of the Cadillac commercials when I hear Led Zep's "Rock and Roll" but it doesn't bother me that Led Zep decided to license their song to Cadillac.

Many people seem to to think less of an artist and I don't really understand it. For example, The Who had licensed a few of their songs to commercials here and three of their songs currently serve as the opening theme of all 3 CSI shows. I know a lot of Who fans who get all bent out of shape over it, but I don't really understand it.

I personally can't begrudge an artist for trying to make money from their product in the manner that they see fit. There is a lot of money to be made in licensing but how would they make any money if they just waited for blockbusters? Besides, I think it's an easy way to make money and introduce your music to new generations of fans.

PS. I hope you don't think I am rambling at you. I'm just rambling in general.  Smiley

No, I don't start hating or disliking the artist because of it.

It's just kinda sad that occasionally people think of a car commercial when they hear a great track like Rock And Roll.
