We are effectively at the deadline for a November release, in terms of ads, promotional tools, single, etc...it just ain't gonna happen. The way I see it (and this is my unprofessional opinion), we have a scant possiblity of a December release, whih we will know about by mid-October (again, conjecture, no inside info). As to whether or not Interscope will hold it back b/c it has other major release: I doubt it, the more major records out, the more profit for the label...many of these will target slightly different audiences, and all will attract high critical and media interest...that said, I personally believe we will see the European tour start prior to the release of any album, whether that is good strategy, well, we all know what happened in 2002.....

we wont get anything in november,? tommys latest interviews suggest that cd will come out early next year

yet it won't....just wait and see.

As it happens, I happened on the CD tour in 2002 after RIR and HOB in 2001, which ended off half-assed but still.
So it?s only 2004 after 2003.? Tongue

Cheer up mates!

It's certainly not just you, that's exactly what I was thinking the other day too.

Every time somebody makes a statement, it's getting even closer and closer than ever before to being finished, but it never comes out. It's like Zeno's Paradox. Axl finally proved that that Zeno was right after all Grin

Seriously, this can not anymore possible be about finishing things up on CD. At this point, the delay is caused by 1) searching for the right guitarist to replace Buckethead or 2) conflicts with the record company. I don't know over what, but maybe over rights or about how to promote CD. I'm guessing Geffen probably doesn't want to put any more money in it after shelling out so much for recording. They'd rather just write the loss off because they figure rock is beleaguered and just about done so there's no way they will make the cash back anyway. Just speculation on my part.

Zeno's Paradox: How far Achilles advances, he can?t catch the turtle coz it moves forwards as he does.

Bloody hell. idea Achilles to the turtle what AXL to his feels for the perfection.
I believe the small gap between them should be left for us, audiences.
I consider the Art as a living thing open to each appreciator to perfect and make it his own.

At the same time, the gap between Achilles n turtle stands for our hope. There is a light never goes out, he he.

Early January at the latest. I believe that December will be perfect for Universal. The Nine Inch Nails album Bleedthrough (also on Universal) will be released around Valentines day (mid-February) and they will tour begining in March. I doubt that they will put G N' R and NIN in a competing situation.

People complain that they hear the same thing every year, yet they stay here...if you're sick and tired of it, boycott this board and all-gnr related material....i dont deny it's frusterating as a fan, but i do believe that unfortunate things seem to happen with this experiment that is Gnr that we both know and don't know about (some of Axl's own making, some not), and, just maybe, one day, the sun will shine on this band and the record will come out.

it doesnt frustrate me at all, i enjoy waiting actually, its kinda cool the mystique and all and waiting for something just adds to the excitement.

im just saying every year we basically get the same interview from tommy or dizzy and then it doesnt happen and the next year starts and then the festival shit starts again and falls through, then we get another nov rumor, its happened since i started readin the board back in 2002 and has continued on since i joined in mid 2003

i dont mind though i was just pointing out how we get the same exact interview.

Why does it have to be November?  Why not December?  Everyone seems to think that November is the month.  Whoever said that?

My guess is because Thanksgiving is in November.

Also, releasing an album in November will leave plenty of time to promote it and make people aware of it so they'll buy it for Christmas.
