You know, "my world" gets dissed constantly, but the lyrics are great... it's a cool poem.  I like the song.  I think that most 'hardcore' fans have a problem with it because it's a bit of a departure from what people are used to hearing from GnR.  That doesn't make it a bad song, or make the lyrics bad.  The lyrics for "love sucks"... well... they suck.

So do most of the songs that get recorded! 

I mean, who do you think is writing these songs?  Most everyone that has something interesting or relevant to say in music comes from an angst - ridden past, being happy happy joy joy all the time doesn't make for a very interesting song.  The things that make most songs appealing to people is that they've been there, that the emotions felt in the song bring someone back to what they've gone through, that they don't feel alone in their world, and the things they are going through don't seem so insurmountable.
