man....im sorry to bug you guys with my technical imcompetence again and again...but....i just recently bought an external HD (seagate barracuda, 80G)...and am having problems with it....its USB2, so its supposed to be plug and play...but it just doesnt tuen up as an external hard disk, in the my computer window.....Windows recognises it....but says its offline.....btw, im runnin XP....any suggestions ?

maybe you have to format it ?
right clik on My Computer > Manage > on the left > Storage > Disk Management
see if its there and format it
