Who?

« on: June 21, 2007, 02:12:55 PM »

Great band from the 80s releasing 3 albums.  Lots of fun banshee like screams from the frontman, great riffs and fun song titles, despite the doomy sounding name they were more fun than doom and gloom.  Most people will probably remember the song See You In Hell and also the video for Fear No Evil was used for Weezer's We Are All On Drugs the other year.  The 1st album is definately the best with every track hitting the mark and they have a standout metal ballad in the form of The Show Must Go On.  The next 2 releases weren't in the same league but they were still good, it's a shame they weren't around for longer, well worth checking out though, these are their 3 albums;

See You In Hell [1984]
Fear No Evil [1985]
Rock You To Hell [1987]

Any fans then?

I only know they're first couple of hits - Fear No Evil & See You In Hell (the title tracks off their respective albums)
 I've seen a couple of their music videos on rotation on VH1 Classic's Metal Mania show...
But that singer of theirs can scream out one hell of a high note!

By far one of the most unintentionally hilarious bands I've ever come across. I love Grim Reaper.

I know the guitarist of that band he works for KORG. Nick Bocott.
Great story about him. KORG had their national conference at my club in 2003. And Nick was doing a presentation of a new Marshall amp that was going to have the classic marshall stack sound and then a separate channel for the Mesa Boogie-esque sound. To illustrate this idea he made a Black and Tan (Guiness Stout and Bass Ale) on stage in front of the whole company to show how the 2 beers don't mix, much like the 2 sounds on the new amp. Then he drank the pint in about 2 seconds.
