I don't know about Axl's voice being better than it used to be during the Illusions tour. Hell, Rhaids and Beduins live sounded like a bad impression of Rush with the lead singers nuts being crushed. Don't get me wrong I love the way Axl sings "The Blues" and "Madagascar". We won't really know how good Axl's voice is until the record comes out. It would be great if Axl released the re-recorded Appetite album that he supposely re did with the new band.

Well, considering that hitting the notes in "Chinese Democracy" takes no effort at all, and that Robin sang all the high notes during the Boston performance of the song, I guess anyone can be a freak of nature.
DunkinDave, so anyone can be a freak of nature?? Try out LALD and tell me just about everyone can do what Axl does on that.? Sorry, I'm not buying it.?
Listen to this - it's Axl's monitor mix of LALD from Osaka:

Buy it now?
It's horrible
If it's real, then he lost his voice. And now it makes sense why he needs a decade to complete vocals for 12-16 tracks.

Obviously anyone who's heard any of the shows the new lineup has done and the IRS recording knows that Axl's? is singing differently from the illusion tour days, when it seems like by the end he was struggling through everything-his voice (and this is my opinion) seems much smoother now and cleaner-so do you think/know if Axl ever hired anyone for vocal training? I seem to recall way back in the day that he had, but can't be sure.
This may be more of a 'Dead Horse' thread, though I never recall seeing it discussed-mods pleas emove it if you think appropriate

someone has to be a Jessica Simpson fan to post something like this on this gnr forum, Axl said ?sorry? cuz they were so fucking tired all cuz of the tour but this story was changed by a bad guy
...of course i admit the guy sung very wrong n? creepy over there but y?all must admit too that some sucker re-edited THIS FUCKING TRACK just to make axl's voice sound so fucking loud while the band didn?t sound that way at the same time so this way we all could notice he was singing so fucking wrong but i?m so sure that a simple retard kid can recognize there was a real bad intention to destroy Axl's figure RIGHT NOW, i can't believe this topic is still workin' !!!,
please show some respect for Axl the next time

This is Axls new studio voice, I think it sounds fine for his age. The guy is not in his 20s anymore.
This are from newgnr.

That's still his lower register - that's an excerpt from the "Big Daddy" end credits.
That track is pitch-shifted higher than the pitch it was recorded in and the tempo was sped-up.
Slow it down, reduce the pitch and that's how Axl sounded when he recorded the track.
I guess the 93 shows were actually a fading out for Axl's voice. In 94 he sang with Bruce Springsteen a song ("come together") and it seemed like he was struggling to sing or it could be an appropriate song for him.
Actually, his voice in 1993 was amazing compared to his voice in 1991 and 1992. In 1993 he almost hit every single note perfectly. His voice was fuckin' horrible in 1991. It got to the point were he sounded like a choaking cat being slammed against a chalkboard. Just listen to the Dallas 1991 show and you'll see for yourself. In 1993 his voice was fuckin' good.
Yep his voice in 91 wasn't the best. Back to early 91, second night of Rio sounded great.
92 tended to differ show to show. Oklahoma wasn't the best, yet a couple of nights later in Chicago was good.
93 I thought Axl sounded great. Just listen to the Argentina shows.

Alx's voice is so mech better in 2002. It sucks ass on the Illusions tour that rasp is god awful. The mix is better now too. In the tokyo dvd the band isn't loud enough now it is, Guns is so much better now.
I just wish you could get me and 90% of the rest of the gunner fans in that frame of mind.
