Were the last four non-live songs on GNR Lies written at the same time some of the Use Your Illusion songs were. Or were they actually ment to be written as a second album and they were pressured into making it the way it is?

Ummmmm, there are no live tracks on Lies. Yes, there's crowd noise, but they're not live.

Basically, Lies was released as a hold over for the fans until the UYI albums hit.

The 4 "live" songs are actually the songs from their first album Live like a suicide. Only 10000 copy's of this album where made and sold and released under their own label Uzi Suicide. G N' R recorded these songs in the studio and added some crowd noise to make them sound like a live recording. Only Axl and the rest of the old line up knows when the acoustic songs where written but they are probably written when they where recording Appetite. G N' R played these songs for the first time live at CBGB's, N.Y. ( 10.30.87 ) 6 weeks after the release of Appetite. They hitted the studio in 1988 to record these songs.

Yeah, I think it's just a few songs they had kicking around and used as a stop-gap.

Lies is a good album, the accoustic version of your crazy(better than the AFD version IMO),patience, and one in a million(despite the few lines) its a great song musically.
