Steinbrenner sabotaged the plane.  He had to do something to get attention away from the Mets and back to the Yankees.

Wait, no no no.  It was A-Rod's fault!  If he hadn't choked, the Yankees would have still been playing and Lidle wouldn't have been flying. (Someone actually called into a radio show with that one)

There's your damn conspiracy theories for all the assholes demanding them.

In all seriousness though, RIP Cory Lidle.  Why he was flying in those bad conditions (especially with only 8 months experience) is beyond me, but there's nothing that can be done about it now.

Some of you people need to relax.

I was not making fun of this tragedy in any way. All I said was that i wonder how long it would take before the conspiracy theories kick into action. People lall the time like to take tragedies and turn them into conspiracy theories.

Well if it's an obvious accident like this then no, there won't be any alternate theories.

If there is evidence to the contrary, then yes, there will be research into other possible reasons and/or means behind it.
