Everything IE based is bad; same bugs and risks. That is the sole reason why Avant sucks.
There are basically only two original code browsers: IE, Firefox, Opera. Today, even Netscape is based on Firefox.

It's really a matter of an opinion. The new firefox would seem to have a better memory usage than the previous version, and appears a lot better than the previous one. But I'm just used to using Opera.

I'd say as long as you stay away from IE it's cool.

Yeah... 1st security hole was discovered less than 24 hours of its release. That's a great piece of software there.
