I like the Alternate version coz the part when Axl sings:
"And when you're in need of someone
My heart won't deny you
So many seems so lonely
With no one left to cry to baby"
is the highest point in each versions of the song...
And for all those who said that the lyrics of the original version are more "natural" or kinda... that's obvious beacuse we all had listen the original versions a lot of tims more than the other one...

I like the original version but both are good. The original version is the one I dedicated to my ex- fiance in 2000.
