i think the new band's chemistry is thier own... richard and i were singing to each other on "chinese democracy" and "IRS" when they played them live last year. actually he and i had eye contact all night. i practically sang every word of every song... he wasn't doing that for like "jungle" or "YCBM".... i think the all around vibe is that they know they aren't there to replace anybody... it's GNR but its a new band. they know that. that's why i didn't feel any pressure from them to surpass anybody or replace anybody, they're having fun... they like each other... which is a lot more diff then in 92 when GNR wanted to kill each other... fun 2 year tour!!!!

GNR are great now. Chemistry on stage is pretty good also. The old GNR are exactly that.. while i loved that band.. it is no more... but the legacy continues in the new guys! It needed freshening up and now we have it... i like it.. i want the new album to come out and for this band to have as much success as possible with top tours around the world!!  beer smoking

I think what your saying is horse shit, your claim rings true about the VMA's and most of 02 athough MSG and Toronto kicked ass I was there, I have seen all incarnations of this band and the chemistry from 06 is on par from anything from 93 forget watching your videos, go to a show the band sounds better today than it ever did and axls voice has not been this solid in years.? The setlist may be predictable but if youve been to a show recently you will notice that the boys swcith of different solos evry night.

New or old songs, this band has fantastic chemistry, especially Robin/Richard and Axl/Tommy. They act like lifelong friends on stage, but it is true, they all seem extremely proud when playing the new material...

The more shows they play, the better they'll get.

It was apparent in 2006.

I didn?t have the luck to see the old band play live, I?ve only seen them in my old videos and I don?t know if I?m being fair but I have seen the current band live and I have seen much chemistry among them ... and sometimes I didn?t feel that chemistry in the old band. Don?t get me wrong, I?m not saying the chemistry didn?t exist, it must have been there at some time but I remember seeing some kinda quarrels, I mean, that sometimes even if you are watching a video you can feel the "tension". And now, with this band all you see apart of a great show, is a bunch of guys who are having a great time on stage, joking and laughing, I don?t know, it?s...different now.

Also, one of the first reactions I had when I first saw this band live was of how they had improved. I don?t know if you think this way too but they look like a different band, they are so good now, they are great and there?s a huge difference with the band we saw in 2001/2002. love

Today while i was watching some of my use your illusion tour video's
I realized that the band had so much chemistry they all knew and predicted when a jam would end , what a member would do next etc
I also realized that there was magic about the LIVE acts..something there i cant put my hand on it but it was attractive
anyways after i finished em , i got on my computer opend some gnr gigs from 2006
i realized that IRS Better the blue's and madagascar have quite the same attraction as back then
but when the old songs played , i kinda felt like axl was a solosit and the guy's playing where his employee's
and in Madagascar , i didint feel that vibe that power as back in 2002.meaning ,axl has finally quite moved on from the past and is embracing the future and is finnaly happy with his new band
Watch a 2002 madagascar , expecially the 2002 mtv awards then watch
the one at Kroq..see the diffrence?
Anyone got any opinions? discuss the illusion tour it was a great tour!

P.s-To you stup judgemental bullied problem children who act so tough on the net and so brittle when your heads getting flushed down the toilet , keep your insults to your self , this forum is dead , i thought a new discussion would be nice
go spray your filth somewhere else ,have a nice day.

I think a lot has to do with your own state of mind. I'd say I feel the same way you do but would express it differently.

I have a hard time watching the band doing old songs just because these songs are so associated with the old guys. When I see those performed, for me it is Axl playing with some guys. Now when they perform the new songs, well, I don't have any image/emtions attached to these yet and therefore really see the whole band and not just Axl. Hope this makes sense.

Also, I am not saying they playing the old songs in a bad way, on the opposite, they're doing great.  I guess another way to put it is that the old songs have meant Axl, Slash, Duff...etc  for almost 20 years and I don't have the habit yet to see other guys playing these songs.

I pray when CD comes out, Axl will p lay some of the must hits but stick to Chinese Democracy.

I love when the band plays their songs, but when they play the old songs, I agree ,something just isnt right. Its like watching someone kiss your GF or something.

So hopefully Axl will play the GNR hits which is a must at a concert but after that stick to CD and new stuff.

This band has as much energy as the old band did, and possibly better technique. Great chemistry on stage.

when I was in vegas, the chemistry was amazing. flew through the songs as if they've been playing them forever. nj, there was a little rift, IMO due to the whole shitty crowd thing (cant disagree that the crowd was shit if you were there)

but great stuff overall in vegas!
