What DOES need banned are all the new types of ammo, armor piercing, etc. 

They have been banned since the 80s. I think that it is fucked that it is illegal to use anything but fully copper jacketed bullets in warfare, yet cops use the most destructive hollow points that they can find.

Are they banned?  I'd be lying if I said I knew a lot about guns/ammo, etc.

I always wonder, then, how this stuff ends up on the streets.  Does someone just steal it from a warehouse or what?

I don't think you see armor piercing(teflon) rounds on the street very often. I haven't heard a case where they have been used in years. I would think that they do show up on occasion, but it is extremely rare.

Not for weapons really, yet I got 3 rifles and 2 shotguns myself I use regurarly when hunting.
I don't see nothing wrong with having them for hunting or home-defence as long as wearing in public is illegal.

That was the reasoning for the law in the first place, so I don't see what's paranoid about it.

I agree.  Hell, I have a pretty serious libertarian streak in me.  But that's not why MOST people want guns.

Yep, that is pretty much it. I abhor hunting for sport; there is nothing sporting about ambushing a defenseless animal. I am sure there are people out there that have to hunt to supplement their diet, but they are few and far in between.

I don't own any firearms. I just hate the thought of loosing any more of my freedoms.
