I use Dunlop Formula 65 and a soft cloth to wipe the guitar down, works really well. I use some stuff called Lizard Spit for the fretboard. Makes it smell nice  beer

oh and as for how often, i clean the guitar and fretboard everytime i change my strings, then ill maybe polish the guitar a week or two later, then change my strings again in like another 2 weeks.

GHS Fast Fret is pretty good.
I tried that once but i didn't really like it.  It makes your fingers all greasy and makes wierd squeaky sounds when you do slides.

I just use some Lemon oil every few string changes to keep the fingerboard in a decent condition.

I sometimes clean the neck with washing up liquid because my hands are always dirty.
