Hey everyone, I'm new to the boards and I was wondering if you guys could answer a question. I was just fooling around trying to sing like axl in civil war(same pitch and everything) and I all the sudden managed to do it after weeks of trying. I guess my vocal chords must have changed a lot from all of the singing cause now I can hit the highest notes on rocket queen, reckless, and nice boys. My question is if that's an ability any male can attain, or if I'm some freak of nature like Axl Rose?

yup... you are now starting to become a girl.....  hihi
nah, i think its normal... listen to The darkness...  rofl

but is there any way to train the voice to be stronger? when i use my "high" voice it tends to get lower in the volume and strenght.... im also 1/2 note away from doing the highest one on alot of songs.. kinda bugs me to go down one octave for one fucking note!

EDIT: oh, yeah... welcome to THE board dude!

Well, you might be doing falsetto, so it isn't the same.

Hmm, I don't really know what the difference between falsetto and normal range is. If you can sing something high pitched, wouldn't it technically be within your range? As for the going from lower notes to high, it just takes practice and time. I still have trouble with middle toned songs like Sweet Child o' Mine. Singing the highest notes is easier because it's really uncomfortable doing that grating sound axl does in high pitches.

Actually, I just looked up some stuff about falsetto and it said that Axl reaches the high notes using falsetto. I still don't understand the difference between it and regular singing.
Captain, if you practice your high voice it'll get louder, but as far as being below by 1/2 a note, maybe that's just your limit. I can go a couple notes higher than axl ever does, but if I try any higher nothing comes out at all. Lol, I can't believe I actually want to sing like a girl.   Roll Eyes

if you listen to songs like I Believe In A Thing Called Love by The Darkness, or Madagascar, you should be able to hear the differences between a falsetto and a normal singing voice quite clearly. ok
I can go extremely high too yanks, maybe we're half woman or something? Grin
